  1. We really don't mind. If it isn't too much of a big deal to add a bit of eye candy, we're more than happy to accomodate those who want it. I'm a big believer of the little things that make people go "Wow!" In saying that, I will be adding wingflex, however, it will be very subtle. I think it flexes by about 10 inches up and down (20 inches in total), but I will confirm. We have quite a few things on our plate at the moment, and my top priorities right now are the ADG and some external decals. If I can fit wingflex in before the next update, I will.

This paint is based on N96DS, a 1994 Challenger 604. There are minor differences from the real aircraft on the engine and tail.

This is a black and grey livery for the Challenger 650. I based it off N525JP which is a Challenger 350. NOTE!!! I forgot to change the right side tail registration color before taking the screenshot so if you follow the included photo 100% your right side tail registration will be black. Just simply drag the 3 color sliders to the right to make the right side white as well. Also, I forgot to change one of the thumbnail pictures back to the original name. It is named "CL650_icon11OLD.png" and the OLD needs to be deleted for it to show properly. Rename it to CL650_icon11.png and it will work.

  4. I've brought this up to Saso a few weeks ago, and he'll be looking into it for a future update. I got the idea from another forum post from someone who took off before his passengers arrived. He was confused at why the 650 felt so light when taking off and flying. The he realized he was too fast in pre-flight, and took off too early.

  5. Hi, I am always wondering what criteria user lays on a simulated arcraft in Flightsimulations. For me I am sitting in the cockpit and try to study all the technical stuff what Hotstart provided in a very impressing way. There is a lot to learn about. Until now I had not one look to the wings, to see if or how much they move.. Imaging real pilots are practicing in a real simulator, and complain about no wingflex. Funny.. Sorry this is my humble opinion, take it as a joke... Best Steff

Livery for N89 (very similar to N88, N90, etc), flown by the FAA on Flight Check missions to ensure procedures, airways, and more can be flown and relied on safely. Many thanks to a real Flight Check captain for providing direct color references. To my eye the registration looks best in Arial Bold. For copyright reasons, this font file is not included in the download - if you're running Windows, you should be able to grab it out of your C:\Windows\Fonts folder and copy it in to the livery folder. If not, there are several open alternatives to Arial that will probably look fine.

This is a blue and grey paint scheme that was based off N703MD, which is a Falcon 7x. I know it's a Falcon and not a Challenger but I thought the paint looked cool and wanted to put it on the Challenger. Enjoy!

This is a 3D model of the Challenger 650 for use when flying in online networks like VATSIM. This will be visible for multiplayer traffic flying type code CL60. Downloading and Installation Instructions: Download and then extract the CL60 folder into your pilot client CSL folder (X-Plane 11/Resources/plugins/xPilot/Resources/CSL/Bluebell/ for default installs) to see this model. This model includes lights (Nav, Beacon, Landing), retractable gear, and rotating engines. There are also animated Flaps, Spoilers, Speedbrakes, and Taxi Lights, but there appears to be some dataref issues (these don't appear to animate in the sim). Hopefully we can have HotStart resolve with future updates! I do hope that we see a proper CSL done by Hot Start and the goal wasn't to replace that, but in the meantime I hope the community can enjoy this work! This model uses some parts from the XCSL C750, which were shared with permission. Please do not resell this work. Thank you!

This is a fictional repaint of a private Challenger 650 for the excellent HotStart 650. The livery is how I imagine the Trotters would paint their aircraft after becoming millionaires! To install, place the 'Trotters' folder into \X-Plane 11\Aircraft\X-Aviation\CL650\liveries Now they can go anywhere, New York, Paris or Peckham. Luvly Jubbly. Thank you for downloading Paul Edwards

  15. Thanks both! The checklist just has me scratching my head for 98% of the time and even with DCS and other jets, I've usually learned mostly by watching videos then repeating it, then looking at the checklist which at that point makes more sense as I know I'm looking at the right areas of the cockpit. I have downloaded and printed out the 605 documents so a lot of reading for me! Very interesting stuff and I really enjoy watching and learning how things work especially in this detailed jet. I just watched the refuelling video and it was interesting to see how the center/aux center tanks worked! Funny how by learning this jet, I'm faffing about more compared to actually flying but it's so fun when something that went wrong with the last startup sequence is identified and corrected in the following attempt.

  16. Synthetic visibility mode in the real aircraft does not show a “RW” image - for that you would need a nose-mounted camera. The word synthetic means just what it says. The image is artificially constructed from a terrain database. SV mode in the sim works exactly as it does in the real aircraft. There are some aircraft that have an option for a nose-mounted infrared camera that will overlay an image of the “real” world on the PFD, but that option is not available on the Challenger.

  17. If this is one under the CL650 tree then it’s probably identical in function. The software design of the product means that basically everything has a custom command first and foremost. And then a subset of things have the default commands translated back to the custom commands automatically.

  18. While this request is being considered it’s fairly trivial to program these kind of custom commands that interface with the switches’ datarefs in a FlyWithLua script.

  22. Hi all, the clock local time is not working. It should be set manually by pressing "mode" button 2 seconds, then adjusting the hours/min/sec. Pushing "mode" for 2 sec works (the hour starts blinking) but there is no way to adjust the time ("+" or "-" keys do nothing) It's not a big deal, but it would be nice to have the correct local time... Thanks!

  23. You can interact with the mouse in VR BUT only if you pop out avitab as an extra window from the plugin menu (right click in VR) , and place it where you like in the cockpit.. The built in avitab then mirrors it.. as mentioned , its an avitab limitation for all aircraft in VR , but this method works really well for me...it also means you can resize the avitab window if you need to .. ... 25. Thank you for the report, we have pretty good details of the amount of "wingflex" the CL650 has. The wing does technically bend but the bending moment is large and is very similar to the stiffness of an airbus wing. The wingflex implementation was not a priority for release and is planned for a future update.

  26. N2 sync is there to force the ATS system to synchronize the engine core speeds, and not the fan (N1) speeds as it does normally. There isn't a practical use for this in normal operation, but if you select it and walk to the rear cabin you'll hear the distinctive sound of the fans being out of sync with each other. You need to be in autopilot ALT hold, with a mach indication on the PFD tape rather than speed and the aircraft on the bug target mach.

  28. I for one found the Collins 21 avionics a bit different from the avionics I'm more familiar with due to years of simming with them (think Boing and Airbus systems) - while they were different themselves, the Collins is yet another beast as there are things it does that surprise me, and there are also things it doesn't do that also surprise me and get me in serious trouble fast. Recommendations: - there are a few videos from your usual streamers on youtube showcasing the Hot Start Challenger 650. Some of them I'm amused because the streamer was clearly in the same boat I was figuring this stuff out. The better one from the source is here: I also encourage you to download the Smartcockpit docs on the Challenger 605 which is very similar to the 650 as that will give you at least more solid documentation on the avionics and systems that make the plane work. The docs (which are coming for this aircraft) will at least give you a head start on the various aircraft systems and what the buttons do - warning, more than 1,000 pages to sift through but filled with "ah-HA" moments for me. The 605 is very similar to the 650 in terms of the cockpit and systems, the 650 has different engines and different range from what I can tell but otherwise very similar to the 605 in how things are setup. https://www.smartcockpit.com/plane/BOMBARDIER/CHALLENGER 605.html I'm sure more tutorials will come out but I'll share with you that from what I can tell, we're all in the same boat trying to figure this one out because it's superbly modeled - it's an unusual system in many ways not only because this redefines "study" in study sims but also because Bombardier's way of thinking is a bit different. Steep learning curve for sure, but that's also what makes it great.

  29. If you can do a cold start in DCS then you've nothing to worry about - clearly you have an ability to learn procedures. Have a little faith in the checklist - the included illustrations at various points can be helpful. If you can't find a switch just look for it - there's not a huge amount going on in the 650's cockpit. It is intimidating at first but after a few times starting it up you'll be laughing! (While looking for switches you'll discover a million other features). I can understand, seeing as you're coming from the TBM, that the avionics seem a little complicated. There's a good document included with the add-on called "FMS Primer" which basically shows you how to do all the "normal stuff". There's a ProLine 21 primer coming soon also. The tutorial video series will be expanded in due course. Any questions feel free to have a browse around the forum - most of them have been asked already at this stage so there's a lot of good material floating around. 30. another quick update. Not much has changed since the last report, except I'm a whole lot further along on my MU2 project than I was at last report. X-Plane is still full time work for me and I'm making steady progress towards returning to this guy. Jan is standing by for the aftermath of the MU2 release when we jump back onto this guy full time and work the FMC and other 3D for a good while I'm sure. I suspect we'll be back on the IXEG by the summer months. -tkyler

  31. If you don’t want to mess around writing Lua scripts anymore another option is to buy Spad.neXt, you can do this type of advanced stuff without having to write a single bit of code yourself. It’s especially useful if you have Saitek Switch panels and such and want to do more than the default XPlane interface will allow. It would go very well with the Warthog too much much easier than using the TARGET software from Thrustmaster.

  32. You're referring to the toggle command pedestal/gear/nws? Yes, there are a lot of switches that have only toggle commands. Adding more discrete position commands is something I will be discussing with the developer for a future update. In the mean time, every switch also has a dataref that can be used to manipulate the switch position, e.g. for the nose wheel steering switch setting CL650/pedestal/gear/nws_value to 1 will move the switch to ARMED. A Lua script can be written to do this via custom command (along with one for the corresponding OFF position). I hope that helps in the meantime.

  33. Following the checklist: Switch Hyd Pump 3A on Set the parking brake (remember you MUST hold the toe brakes fully, then set the park brake, then once set you can release the toe brakes) Then do the rest of the hydraulic checks.

  34. For anyone else victim to the games that Russia is apparently playing with DNS infrastructure on a national level, you can try adding an override for navcen.uscg.gov into your hosts file (/etc/hosts on Linux, C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\hosts on Windows): 206.65.196.29 navcen.uscg.gov (At least in this country, it would seem that the host itself is not being blocked, just the DNS entry is being filtered.)

  36. Have any, and are any devs going to comment and help those with this issue out? I spent $120 on a module that I had very high hopes for and I can't even move it anywhere without having an issue. I have talked to countless people that had a NWS issue and none of them have had this problem to this extent. I have reinstalled and tried everything possible from recalibrating my joystick, and doing everything that @amyinorbit instructed and still got nothing. I really wish someone who worked on this plane could provide further guidance because this product is very useless to me if I can't move it from the ramp area.
