  1. We have been very clear and forthcoming about our lack of updates and the reasonings behind, as well as stating the nature of this 1.3 update, so if you had high hopes, then you simply didn't come across our postings on the nature of the update before it was released...perhaps we should come up with more formal press release mechanism for IXEG....anyhow, whether or not any of us likes the situation or fallout thereof is irrelevant to the time still required to do the work. If given the choice to lament and say, "yea, its lacking, lets just stop working on it, or "keep going", I'll choose the latter, and once chosen, refrain from bitching about the past and keep pressing. I know folks need to vent their frustration, heck I do it all the time, so vent away, but it won't change our development process, only instantiate contention...its a predictable human thing. Re the cargo doors, they were implemented because they're easier and faster to model. You said the IXEG is (was) one of your favorites...this is because we obsess over details that take a long time to develop, and why we have a reputation as one of the most immersive environments ....and I have yet to see cabin doors that are really accurate and detailed as I know they can be, cause the shapes are so darn tough, and we have a few cool ideas we also want to implement that nobody else is doing...again taking time....but IXEG wants to do it right for that immersion factor. I can't do cabin doors and VNAV and holds at the same time, nor pay for a army of folks to do it (who still may not do it right)...so if I take a month to work on vnav and holds, someone will inevitably come back with, "what...you couldn't get the cabin doors done in a month"?" To be fair, we expect huffing and puffing, you sign up for that when you make products for the public.....but we have not abandoned it, despite appearances. We're back and bringing our attention to detail to the very things that made you like it in the first place. You can choose to be happy we're doing that and encourge the efforts, or keep venting. I myself am happy we've landed on the conditions that allow to work on it full time again and finish what we started. My hope is you can find that also. -tkyler

  2. I'm quite annoyed and disappointed frankly, on the small amount of users, that come here uninformed, rude and entitled to write sensational posts concerning the 733. The team has been very, very open from the beginning for the "shortcomings" of the model. As well as providing a target and intentions for upcoming releases and updates. You simply haven't read it. It's quite the shame for these people, to come to this forum to address our concerns with any issues the update might have brought about, or simply request and features that come every day... and to see these kinds of reactions and posts. By all means provide criticism, even if it's about the timeline, but be at least a little bit decent for crying out loud... If you have even read any of the posts, especially by Tom, you would know how they feel about it, and how they are planning to remedy that as soon as is humanly possible. These people have lives you know. Making models for us, probably also for them, is their passion not their primary occupation. I'm really surprised by the courage and politeness of the team, that come here to read comments like that and still respond in a professional manner, like Tom has just done. I hope that the behaviour of some doesn't discourage you, IXEG team, from the continuous communication and support of your appreciative and happy users. The IXEG 733 is one of the few paywares that screams class and character, very few have that. If you don't recognize what has been achieved so far, and don't inform yourself about what is going to be implemented, at least read your post before you publish it and be civil at the very least.

  3. Hi Martheson, thank you very much for the work you did for the previous version! I know it has been a godsend for the VR users of our aircraft - in absence of us providing the necessary files ourselves. I will certainly look for your input and assistance down the road when tweaking the VRconfig.txt for this aircraft, and hopefully we can implement this in the very near future for everyone out of the box. Thanks again to you and Joe (and whoever helped make the previous version VR compatible), Jan

  5. Hi guys, Matheson from SimVRLabs here. My colleague Joe made the original SimVRLabs mod for the IXEG 737 1.21, but I would like to explain some things regarding the latest 1.3 update. The SimVRLabs mod originally made for 1.21 will NOT work in 1.3 as many of you know. The reason for this is that IXEG overhauled the cockpit.OBJ in 1.3. For those of you who do not know, the cockpit.OBJ of any aircraft is a 3D model that XPlane uses which you mostly do not see. This 3D model contains information about how the user interacts with the aircraft. A good way to show how this affects each aircraft is by comparing some aircraft. For example, some aircraft use the mouse scroll wheel to interact with knobs and switches, others may require you to drag your mouse up and down or side to side, or some may use a combination of both. The cockpit.OBJ is responsible for dictating this behaviour. Each knob, switch, button, and anything you can physically interact with in an aircraft is called a manipulator. These are inside the cockpit.OBJ. Some manipulators work better than others in VR, but may not be the best for 2D users. While making a VR mod for an aircraft we always need to ensure that VR users have the best possible experience but without compromising the 2D user's functionality. This is a delicate balance and is the reason why there will never be an XPlane aircraft that works flawlessly in both modes, but we can make it pretty close. Because of this, we must change some manipulators that don't work well in VR to a more VR friendly type. This is why we include cockpit.OBJ files. You may be wondering how this relates to a VR_Config.TXT. All that file does is allow us to tune manipulator sensitivity (how much you need to move your controller for the manip to work), and change SOME (very few) manipulators into other manipulator types. Because we can only convert some types using the VR_Config, we have to do the rest in the cockpit.OBJ. We ALWAYS try to use the VR_Config.TXT FIRST before editing the cockpit.OBJ, simply because the VR_Config.TXT only applies the changes and settings when a user loads VR. It does not affect 2D pilots whatsoever. In the case of the IXEG 737, Joe had to make changes to the cockpit.OBJ as some manipulators were not suitable for VR users. When IXEG released version 1.3 with an overhauled cockpit.OBJ, this rendered our mod broken in 1.3 and useless. This is not the fault of IXEG. They made their product better than it was before, so they should be praised for their continued development and quality of life improvements. Jan has said that VR support is planned for the near future. We can't wait to see what's in store for VR users and to possibly lend a hand with that task if needed. I hope this clears up confusion about our mod and 1.3. If you have any questions, feel free to tag me in a response here or shoot me a message. Cheers, Matheson SimVRLabs.com

  7. I think he may be referring to the manipulator drag length. i.e. dragging a very short distance on screen results in a large movement of the lever and a very small number of screen pixels you have to hit to land on a detent. I agree this should be tweaked. -tkyler

  8. You have obviously read nothing or understood nothing (one of the two) to realize what the context of time constraints meant. Two years was irrelevant to the context, and that argument stops here. You also seem to be putting your pride over understanding that you aren't the smartest man over everyone else here (developer or user included). This isn't a contest, and regardless of what you feel the log didn't contain, it actually DOES contain much info we look for that is not obvious to end users. You want help with your issues, but you don't want to help us help you. Knock it off with the attitude. Please. We're not going to argue in here. Help, or don't, but you're wrong at the moment about the log. This sort of attitude you're exemplifying is troublesome. You can be bitter, just not here. We won't tolerate it.

This is the simply the path we must take to get it done, regardless of what has been in the past. We'll get the holds in and won't ask 1 dollar more when we do. -tkyler

  12. Hi Everyone! The amount of liveries available in such a short time is just amazing Currently there are in total over 400 liveries available! So, I'm going to do an attempt to try to maintain an alfabetical list here with what is available to make things a bit easier to find. I probably missed a few already, so it would be great if you below can post links to liveries not in the list, then I'll put them in. KCGX is now available for v9 and v10. Aerobridge Studios-Meigs Field Developed and designed by : Peter Tram, John Spahn, Juan Menedez Manual : Peter Tram Photography: Online resources Version 2.0 Merrill C. Meigs Field Airport (IATA: CGX, ICAO: KCGX) was a single strip airport that operated from December 1948 until March 2003. It was built on Northerly Island, the man-made peninsula that was also the site of the 1933–1934 Century of Progress in Chicago. The airport achieved international notoriety when Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley ordered city crews to bulldoze the runway at night, and without the 30-day advance warning required by FAA regulations. From Wikipedia This release is a major update to the first release Features: - Photorealistic ground - Highly detailed airport buildings. - Photorealistic textures - Realistic asphalt textures in runways and taxiways - Real-world airport lighting shades - Main buildings include real night textures - Authentic Vegetation Support: Please contact us by emailing to aerobridge1nfo@gmail.com or by questioning us here on X-Pilot LICENSE AGREEMENT: Aerobridge Studios reserves all rights.Educational use, business use or commercial use, without a proper license is prohibited. Here's what to do: 1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/account_history.php 2. Find your original TBM 900 download and re-download the file. It will download as the latest version! The following is a list of additions/fixes included: What's New / Changed: Improvements / New Features: Got a modest framerate boost by avoiding an inefficient flight plan query every frame. Bug Fixes: Fixed a crash when using Vulkan on Windows with an Nvidia GPU Updated magnetic model to latest coefficients for the years 2020-2025. Updated RealSimGear config file we ship to the latest one and renamed it so it no longer overwrites an existing config file if you had it customized. Reduced AP panel knob sensitivity when spun in VR. Stiffened up pitch response to desensitize the pitch axis more on approach & in cruise. Reworked aileron trim model to be more linear with airspeed. Negative-G induced engine flameout was happening way too quickly. Limited the amount of pooled up fuel to prevent huge temp spikes during hot starts. 15. We’ve been hard at work preparing a major update for the Islander since its initial release! Our philosophy at TorqueSim is to make the absolute best product we can, and to that end we’ve taken time and considerable effort to prepare the Islander Version 1.1, which represents a massive improvement over the original in all areas. With this part of the project now on the home stretch, we decided it’s time to share some of the improvements we’ve made with you. First off, we’re very proud to say that we’ve been able to fix or resolve all bugs reported to us so far, and many more that showed up in the course of our own continued work on the project. Thank you so much to everybody who contributed reports, contacted us about issues, and offered solutions! So many of these bugs would’ve just slipped by us if not for our dedicated beta team and all of you, flying the Islander out there in the wild. Probably one of the most anticipated additions to our Islander comes in the form of integration for RXP’s GTN simulations (RXP GNSs were compatible on launch, for anybody wondering). From 1.1 onwards, the Islander can make use of both the GTN750 and the 650, either separately or both at the same time, in both the regular and G5 versions of the aircraft. In addition, we’ve integrated the excellent Avitab plugin, including a way to move it to various locations within the cockpit. It’ll start out hidden on every flight, but a quick click to the center of the glareshield edge should bring it right up when you need it. In our quest to increase the performance of the Islander on all systems, we’ve undertaken some serious texture optimization, which should render the need for a 2K texture pack obsolete. The new textures retain full 4K format where needed, while selectively downsizing performance-intensive normal maps. Heavier reliance on LIT textures also permits night flights and cockpit lighting with little to no performance impact. A total of only 4 HDR lights have been retained in places where they make sense. Following some requests to make the overhead utility lights functional… that’s exactly what we’ve done! The utility lights are now fully operational, with individual HDR lights attached to them. No more searching for those overhead switches in the dark. The other two HDR lights are used in the pilot’s row cabin lights. It made little sense to bake the LIT textures here, as these lights can interact with certain parts of the cockpit, however they should have very little impact on performance. Further optimization could be achieved in the 3d meshes of the Islander. Many parts contained unnecessarily high numbers of polygons contributing nothing to the overall appearance of the aircraft. These have been eliminated, reduced, remodeled, or otherwise repaired. You should see a marked improvement in framerates in certain areas. Thanks to the combination of texture and mesh optimization, we’ve brought the size of the objects folder for the Islander down to just over 500 MB (including all objects and textures), from over 1 GB before. Needless to say, these are techniques we intend to apply to future projects. We could go on and on and on about all the little things we’ve changed and improved for this version, but instead, here’s a quick list of some other improvements: Expanded UI with more options for both the aircraft and the passengers Manuals now contain useful charts for operating the Islander, including gross weight limitations, take off and landing distances, and cruise data Cockpit switches are much more mouse friendly now, and we’ve eliminated the ‘click-and-drag’ style clickspots entirely Addition of a CSL package And last, but not least, a quick reminder that the Islander Screenshot Competition is still going on! We’ve had some excellent submissions so far, and participants have the chance to win their choice of either the TorqueSim Pocket Rocket, AFM M20 Collection, or both of Attitude Simulations “Gate to the Great Lakes” sceneries! There will be three winners. See the competition page for official rules and details. If you haven’t submitted a screenshot yet, now’s your chance, as the contest will end at the end of the month (May 31st)!

  18. I think he may be referring to the manipulator drag length. i.e. dragging a very short distance on screen results in a large movement of the lever and a very small number ofscreen pixels you have to hit to land on a detent. I agree this should be tweaked. -tkyler that's exactly what i mean, great you will tweak it! It is such a huge step forward that this bird can now be operated and it gets better and better! Many thanks to the whole ixeg team for such a great simulation

  19. I was already thinking of writing about so much cynicism and discourtesy expressed particularly by who identifies as "ANordheim". In that way I read the re-reflected by "ktomais" and, I stop in my intention because this member expresses everything that must be said to such ingratitude. I understand that it is very hard to receive so much offense, that's why the IXEG team responses. Please do not spend so much effort on an anonymous attacker who, quite possibly, can be a hitman in the competitive market. In case it is not clear to "ANordheim", cynic is any person who believes that he knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.

  23. Hi Andreas, I am happy with the way it is - in fact I feel that it often is a bit too reluctant to move. But I have only flown the plane for 10 years, so what do I know Cheers, Jan

  25. It amazes me how many people don't read the forum issues before they write. Been covered many times! On another note, we will need logs if you want help with crashes. Please post those logs in your own topic for organizational reasons.

  26. John, No, we do not support it and it is also "illegal" from Section 6 of our terms and conditions: Furthermore, the mod essentially takes money for something WE created and they decompiled to re-sell from our original assets.

  30. Totally agree with you. Just checked my order history - i bought the 737 in June 2017 and it's been already 3 years. Have no idea why such functions are not implemented. This plane really pretends to be one of the best and well made aicraft for XP but still i don't see any sufficient progress. The last update with its reverted knobs rotation is just frustrating. Can't believe that there had been no any testing before this update came out. The devs really need to spend some time implementing all the key features to make this bird best for XP ever. Hope they will.
    1 point
  31. Because we have not implemented it yet. Pushing the HOLD page will show the page, but you can´t enter anything...yet. We have been upfront about this shortcoming, see this post (it was up before the plane was ever for sale): http://forums.x-pilot.com/forums/topic/8526-things-that-are-not-going-to-be-in-v13/ We are working on making them available in the FMS. Yes, you can fly them manually, but I understand that it is difficult for some pilots and also a distraction to do so when flying in an online environment. We also want to make the plane complete eventually, a fully functioning HOLD page is obviously part of that. Cheers, Jan

  32. Hi everyone, thanks for the feedback and reports regarding our 1.33 update for the IXEG 737-300. Naturally some things slipped our quality control and some things we simply *** up . Rest assures, we are working on fixing those, for some there are already workarounds. I will post, update and maintain the list here for you - so if you encounter a problem, check it against this list and if it is already known, you can save yourself the time to post (unless you maybe have some further information for us!). Test button for leading edge devices on aft overhead panel does not work Fuel quantity test button does not work Gauge for brake accumulator pressure on modern instrument option always shows 3000psi (steam instrument option works ok). When reconnecting the GPU to the AC buses after they have been powered by the APU or the engine generators, the left bus will not be powered by the GPU anymore. There are several other things not working right or missing (Doors, FMS, Wingflex, etc.), and of course they are still slated for improvement in the future. You can doublecheck your issue against this list: http://forums.x-pilot.com/forums/topic/8526-things-that-are-not-going-to-be-in-v13/ Cheers, Jan

  34. Ah, thanks for this info - I wonder how that happened, I really didn´t change anything on the nosegear... I will see if I can make this modification in our .acf file for the next update! Edit: I think any user could also make this modification in planemaker, if you don´t want to wait. The entry is in "Standard" "Landing Gear" - and then change the first gear to "2 lateral". Cheers, Jan
    1 point
  35. @Litjan The problem is the nose gear type of Ixeg 1.3, It was changed from 3 (double) to 2 (single) and the PushBack tug can´t handle single gear. There are 2 fix workarounds: Change the P _gear/0/_gear_type in ACF from 2 to 3 Or Open the file info.cfg in folder \X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins\BetterPushback\objects\tugs\AST-1X.tug and change the line "gear_compat" to "ff"

  36. I confirm - not sure when/where we lost that. The MEL is pretty lenient on this one. Indivdual lights may be inop, provided that remaining lighting is sufficient to see the indications/labelling, do not blind the pilots and are deemed acceptabel. So the MEL is ok with you guys using the plane while we fix this ;-) Cheers, Jan

  39. I wonder if this was a rushed release do to Nimbus announcing their BN2. Capture the market before a competitor. I for one have parked it and won't fly it until it's complete.

  40. sarcasm much? Great support. 11.50b9 Vulkan, latest nvidia drivers, standard plugins that the average simmer is using and I had some Gizmo errors when first loading in. Bottom line as a long time X-Plane user I know how to read a log. I'll just let people chime in and see where it goes. I'm just disappointed. On top of it so many things have been omitted from update due to "time constraints" which is quite unbelievable to me with years between updates. I'll move on until further refinements in place.
