I'm just kidding... I love THIS plane! IXEG, your team has set a bar that I wish each developer could reach. Every system in this plane (except my weapons systems) is just exceptional. As a private pilot that will never be able to obtain a commercial license, much less get the opportunity to fly a 737 you guys have provided the closest thing to it that I will ever get. I can't thank you enough for your hard work. Although I only found out about your efforts and work last October I have been eagerly and patiently waiting and it was totally worth it! I love the tutorials and example videos and the flights I have done in it have just been the best. I hope your sales were through the roof and that you were well rewarded for your efforts! If I could make a future update request it would be flight attendants bringing me a mid-flight snack, or more importantly coffee! Happy flying to all! Johnny KTUS4 points

Wow! I have been simming since mid 80s, and all these years I have dreamt of a desktop experience as immersive and realistic as this! Thankyou! You are about to define a totally new level of standard to the community, this release will be the "milestone of the decade" ! Not surprised, there is some premature behaviour, - after all its giant a piece of software fresh from the mill. But you seem to be well prepared and put all effort into solving the various issues. What a fantastic team! As for now - I am more than happy and thrilled just getting to know the aircraft, doing startups and taxiing while listening to the incredible soundwork and feeling the insanse realistic movement of the model. It really does remind me of the real thing. If attachments could be physical, you´d be catching cold beers and champagne out of your computers. Congratulations!4 points

Landing Gear warning Config - Visual Indications (737-300) The landing gear indication lights are activated by signals from each gear, the LANDING GEAR lever, and the forward thrust lever position as follows: Green light illuminated – landing gear is down and locked. Red light illuminated – • landing gear position is in disagreement with LANDING GEAR control lever position (in transit or unsafe) • landing gear is unlocked • landing gear is not down and locked, and either or both forward thrust levers are retarded to the idle range. All lights extinguished – landing gear is up and locked with the LANDING GEAR control lever UP or OFF. Now we are very lucky that IXEG has the clever system for the Aural indications! On most of our 300's at Jet2 we get a gear warning horn, flaps 1 through to 10 with the thrust lever position 10 degrees or less and the gear not down. You can imagine how annoying it is having to constantly canx this warning horn on every approach. Boeing fixed this problem and brought in the radio altimeter as an extra requirement for the horn. To be at or below a rad alt height of 1000ft/1500ft (depending on the aircraft) is needed for half of our 300's. The 800 also has a rad alt height requirement of 800ft or less. Hope this helps the understanding of how the system works and varies between different 300 type and the NG. Regards Craig4 points

Hi everyone and thanks for the nice words - we are reading these posts with a lot of joy and some anguish.. . I am really sorry if your initial experience was not a pleaseant one and the whole team is cranking right now (like I have never seem them in the last few months...) to bring out the first update - with many more to follow! Here we are - folks of internet, and virtual flight experts -, the IXEG B737 is on the market. Hurray! After few hours of rollout, the video shares start dumping the latest episodes of our tryouts. I'm a bit disappointed of the early results. That's, how the beginners want to drag up the bird from the runway - without the bare minimum of preflight preparations -, it is tragicomic. They spent a money for a bounch of useless bits and pieces, and the product wont climb as they pulled back the stick, instead its bumping, shaking, screaming...that's a crap! However, the "factory" supplied some boring manuals, but who wants to take care of them after 6 years of waiting?!.... Not me... - they would say. Hey guys - dear simmers -, the flight industry - as a bare sum - is not a sandbox, not even in simulated scenarios! Please take time to prepare yourself before tryout, and do not claim for bugs when the plane misbehaves! Dear Chief "instructors" over the Net, if you decide to share your experience with sim like this, please follow the "good" practice - even it eats the expensive "idling" time of the final showcase. Do not present, how to start up the APU, then right after ignite the engines and go out to the runway to take off right after... The unity users do not know what, why, when etc.. they just try to copy your actions...they will be disappointed after the n-th not successful flight, and start flooding the support forums with annoying topics. Teach them, do not give hints them! Explain the procedures in easy to follow shape. Here is one of the "brilliant" example, what am saying... Please do not share videos like this! Wait for the real experts, and learn the systems mean while! I presume the IXEG B737 is not really finished yet. There are many uncovered bugs in the code - it is how thing used to be happen in the software development. If the product like this is "flown" by experts, and tested by experts...they know what, and why. We - outsiders - do not in such detail. Thats why the bugs come out to the light pretty soon. So, be patient, and take time to study the systems, before logging in the forum and start to cry, or claim... Best regards, zg3 points

Not trying to take sides, but think about it. It "has" been tested by few people. It's nowhere near being tested by hundreds. For example, people report CTD crashes while I didn't have a single one yet. At some point in the software's life you need to decide that releasing it will be more beneficial than trying to catch every single issue with just few people. If they didn't release it yet trying to do so, I assume we wouldn't see this plane released anytime in the near future. Now, there are tons of reports by people and the developers can start fixing them quickly and swiftly. But sure, from the customer standpoint, you obviously want flawless performance. Well, to me, it has already paid for itself during the time I used it during the weekend. For me it works almost flawlessly, probably even better now since the XPUIPC has been fixed.3 points

And I already have an updated XPUIPC file for you from Torsten, the creator of XPUIPC. It will add compatibility - but please make sure that you install at your own risk and neither IXEG nor X-Pilot or X-Aviation can be held responsible for any possible adverse effects of damages you might suffer herefrom. You can also wait for the next hotfix which SHOULD be live within a few hours - it will also fix the AP problems. Jan XPUIPC 2.0.4.7.zip3 points

Hi, quick info for EFASS users: The Flightplan-Export plugin for the IXEG is ready. How to install: Start EFASS Click File -> Addon Downloader Double-Click the plugin "Export to IXEG 737" to download it Click away all those messages and restart EFASS Export-Path for flightplans: <X-Plane-Folder>\Aircraft\X-Aviation\IXEG 737 Classic\coroutes Loading the flightplan: Go to the RTE-Page of the FMC and enter the Departure-ICAO and the Destination-ICAO without space into the Co-Rte-Field. Example EDDLDTTA ALWAYS USE THE SAME AIRAC CYCLE FOR EFASS AND THE 737! ALSO THE SAME PUBLISHER (NAVIGRAPH/AEROSOFT). OTHERWISE YOU MAY GET A MESSAGE LIKE "AIRPORTS MISSING" Cheers, Cosmo2 points

Hello all, I noticed some of you guys, including me, have found the packs to be very loud. An easy way to temperarly adjust this to your liking, while IXEG fixes/ adjusts the sounds, is to get a program that can adjust db's (decibels) of audio (I use audacity) and lower the sound to your preference. Go to your IXEG aircraft folder, sounds, custom, and aircond_noise.wav. This is the file you want to manipulate. Once you lower it to your liking, put it back in the custom sound folder, and replace the old one. (I'd recommend making a backup of your old aircond_noise.wav file just incase) I personally lowered it about 15 decibels and I find it sounds much better. I can hear the knobs and engines at cruise and full power. Hope this helps! Happy landings!2 points

They can then increase the trim wheel servo motor sound then, we can barely hear it. It was perfect in your crosswind video2 points

I second Cameron´s advice... we hear your complaint with the noise level - I hate to say it, but I feel it is spot on, especially in being really bothersome . And engines are NOT the most prevalent sounds in a jetliner cockpit, I know that most users (sitting in the passenger cabin) have a different experience...Maybe some other 737 pilots can join in on the discussion and share their view? Currently the sound-level sliders aren´t working very well - the "cockpit" slider is also reducing the engines sound - we will fix this. So soon you can turn down cockpit sounds, while retaining loud engines. We are discussing making "realistic AC-noise" an option, so you can turn that lower if you need to keep the noise down in your house... Cheers, Jan2 points

The IXEG 737 only has one GPS system. For a GNSS (GPS) approach you require two for Approval. For simulation purposes though as long as your Navigation accuracy is 0.3NM you could do an LNAV/VNAV approach. One thing to have in mind though, If using VNAV Path for the approach, when you set your MCP alt to your Missed approach alt the Classic will crumble and go into CWS pitch. This was fixed in the NG and allows you to fly to your minimums in VNAV path and have your missed approach alt selected in the MCP for the go around. Regards Craig2 points

Yeah, Next to the pedestal. Grab it when it's still hot & fresh. If the lighting is just right you can see it happen when the a/c is moving about a bit. Great for spotting turbulence when not looking towards the instruments. Cheers! (* thx Laminar Research for releasing XP10 in a metal case, so I can use a magnet to hang my paper x-list.)2 points

What!? Is their a coffee in the cockpit? I need to fire her up again. Anyway, as this is a thanks thread, I just want to give BIG THANKS to IXEG for a great aircraft, even though there is some quirks here and there.2 points

First flight I did get several Gizmo CTD:s. Second flight more CTD:s, even the AP did not work (even heading mode did not work). Just for that I did reboot the airplane in air and started it up while loosing altitude. I didn't expect it to be this fragile. I don't know why IXEG decided not to release an open alpha or beta to really get the bugs filtered out. People expect otherwise an almost failsafe simulation of the aircraft. Oh well, IXEG will iron out the bugs, but I guess it will take time. I whish IXEG all the luck.2 points

There seems to be a misconception about fuel pumps on any aircraft being required for the fuel to reach the engines or they won't work. This is wrong. All engines have their own mechanical internal suction pumps that pull fuel. If you do not turn on any external fuel pump they will work anyway. External fuel pumps (the ones you manipulate on the cockpit) are there to guarantee fuel to the engines in case their internal fuel pumps fails, and during full throttle or critical phases of flight/attitude/maneuvers to guarantee the right amount and constant positive fuel pressure on the lines.2 points

Hi Tony, I have been using X-planes own weather. I am not sure which drivers and I am on a MAC. My major question is why did RWC work previously and not now. As I mentioned I am using the lasted SkyMaxx Pro and RWC. I've uninstalled and reinstalled about 15 times. Hopefully Frank or Cameron will jump in here and offer their help. I am working today so won't have a chance to work on this again for a few more hours. You've been a great help providing suggestions that I am just not technical enough to have though about. Thanks, Andy1 point

Have you seen how minimal it is on the classics? You can barely notice it in reality - only the very outboard portion moves, and even then only a few inches at most! It's nice to have but in small, stiff-winged aircraft it is far from necessary. Save dev time for more interesting additions I say!1 point

So far so good. It just came out this past weekend but I've been using the FSX/P3D version of his software for a while. You can sniff out datarefs which puts it way ahead of other methods. Don't need to do that for the IXEG as they provide a list in the documentation so it was a copy paste.1 point

Absolutely Ben. Take your time. It has been nothing but hard work from you guys the last couple of years. Also the next few months are going to be crucial from the support point of view. The fact that you even consider porting it to Linux is great news for us. We don't mind waiting. Sanjiv1 point

I have had no issues. A couple of tech failures, but I haven't checked to see if random failures is on. Was a nice challenge anyways. I want to thank the IXEG team as well. The attention to detail is fenominal. Great to see the coffee bouncing about in the cup! I love coffee. The master caution annunciator looking kind of loose is great as well. Very dynamic. Plus, the controls finally move along with the A/P (other a/c look so static). The engines take a lovely long time to spool down. The sound is fenominal! Really immersive. I was parked, with the cockpit windows open, messing about with the CDU, and noticed something about the sound changing. Turned out that something indeed changed in my right bleed air system. Can't remember exactly what it was but the air was going right overboard (isln valve closed). So yeah. That's what I heard. oooh and and the CFMs look great as well! I was quite amazed to see through the spinning fan. The click n drag is nicely tuned, the pop up menu works great, checklist is in the right place for me to quickly grab. Flight dynamics are awesome. I could go on for thousands more words trying to describe how nicely immersive this 733 is. Even though I noticed some people are reporting issues. Some of them, IMO, unreasonable, taking the complexity of this product into account. I think you guys did a brilliant job. Thanks! I'm a total fan.1 point
