  1. I suppose I should demonstrate some form of life. I'll have to get with Jan on that as our radar (best I recall) had most of the features of the real thing. As far as "coming out soon", here's what I'll say....and this is overdue for sure....and I'm not going to convince anyone to believe me or not on the timing. It will get looked at and updated at some point. As sure as this is my 20th year actively involved in X-Plane work, it will continue to be so. A year and a half ago, things changed for me when Laminar announced its new store initiative in Montreal. I took a job with Laminar to completely rewrite its developer documentation. This was a "look to the future" for both myself and X-Plane, at the cost of 'now'. Laminar are looking to embrace a future generation of developers and we need to have better learning materials to engage this generation to develop for X-Plane, so I'm that guy....thats for Laminar. For myself, I needed more stability and a cushion, as the add-on market for X-Plane is still too thin to have any kind of long term security. Taking on this work with Laminar has allowed me to close out all other obligations and stay in the X-Plane ecosystem for the foreseeable future. The 'problem' for my customers and X-Aviation thus far, is that the initial phase or work to revamp and deploy the documentation was/is huge. New developer web site, new manual formats, a new, interactive PlaneMaker manual, lots and lots of rewriting, new illustrations...etc....and that has taken a good while to develop and received all my focus to get to what we call the "initial deployment" of the docs out the door. That initial deploy is not terribly far off. After the initial deployment, I will settle into a more regular time schedule that will afford me the time to get back to my own work. It has been my effort over the last year to try and achieve a point where I can only work on X-Plane endeavors between now and my retirment......and there have been personal hurdles along the way that are neither anyone's concern or business, but real to me just the same. It is my intention to crack open the MU2 and 737 again in early October, to resume work on my 'X-Aviation' things. I have discussed this with X-Aviation also. Between now and then I am focused on getting an initial deployment of the new docs out the door for Laminar. We will look at the IXEG radar early on for sure. I want to remain developing for X-Plane fully and it is my firm belief that this path i've taken was the required path to do so, and I apologize for the silence and delays. -tkyler

  2. Hi @imemyself it has been a while for sure and a valid question and I have no real excuse. The last year has very much been a "foundational stabilization" year. I'm getting close enough to retirement to start eyeballing these next 6 years and how to best navigate them after the Covid ripples upended several things in my life. A year ago this time I had an opportunity with Laminar once again and I took it....the previous years since Covid were a bit rocky and I had some catching up to do, which I have mostly done over the last 12 months. I've spent sporadic moments in the year working on the 737 FMOD conversion and we're in final sound testing on that. The MU2 has taken a back seat during this time. I have recently integrated X-Plane's new weather radar and most of the known issues are fixed, which you guys won't see till 12.4 or 12.5 perhaps, so I have been chipping on it. An update absolutely will be available and it is still maintained and will be for years to come I suspect. I took the gig with Laminar to "stay in the X-Plane ecosphere" and some important personal things have transpired this year that should clear the way for more XP work. I know that's pretty hollow talk considering the last year, but I'll just wrap up by saying there are no plans for me to abandon the MU2 and I get reminded about it frequently...so the pressure is on and felt.

  3. Sorry I didn't see this thread until now, but when the TDS was first released for XP I made this plugin that tricks the MU-2 into thinking RXP is present and loads the TDS. Fake RXP.zip

  4. If you hear nothing from us, assume that the project is not abandoned but no work has been done on it that would warrant us sharing any progress info. If we abandon the project, we will announce this here - so if we don´t - you know it´s not abandoned.

  5. I’m a bit confused by your post, as the timeline doesn’t quite align. At the time of your purchase, there was no talk of an upgrade for a version of the simulator that didn’t yet exist, as we developers were not aware of X-Plane 12 at that point either. You purchased it two years before we ever mentioned a free upgrade to new purchasers. It is not possible for you to have "bought this aircraft because it included an upgrade to XP12." We'll post news when we're ready. I believe we're getting to a point of sooner than later.

  7. Hi at all. I have read that TDS is starting the beta of this product (differently from the RXP, it's possible to update AIRAC with Navigraph), and its will be release soon. I hope in an update of the MU-2 with this integration

  8. You can create these using: Along-track offset distance - IDENT/(+-)DIST[/NAME] - offset plus or minus DIST from IDENT which is currently in the flight plan Place Bearing Distance - IDENTBRG/DIST[/NAME] - point defined by a distance along a radial from a place Place Bearing / Place Bearing - IDENTBRG/IDENTBRG[/NAME] - point defined by the intersection of two radials from two places LAT/LON coordinates. This can be done with Degrees Decimal Minutes, or shorthand as per the usual shorthand rules. There is some way you can do it using the joystick on the CCP and selecting the point on the MFD map, but I'm not entirely sure how you go about doing that. The Places in question do not have to be VORs, they can be any arbitrary point, including previously defined custom waypoints - I've created downwind, base, and final legs for visual approaches with VNAV planning using this feature. For your example specifically I'd use place bearing/distance. As far as I remember, just enter this in the scratchpad: IDENTBRG/DIST[/NAME] So in your example, if the VOR was ATY, you'd enter "ATY225/50" which would give you a waypoint 50nm southwest of ATY. If you added an extra trailing slash you could input a name for that waypoint as well. Then, once that's in the scratchpad, press the LSK next to where you want to insert it, and then add your altitude restriction on the right side as normal!

  12. Man, its a shame this project never materialized into what it was supposed to become. I used to love flying the ixeg in xp11 and had high hopes it would be completed. Every now and then I check back on this forum to see if anything has changed and unfortunately still nothing. Xp12 is looking seriously good these days, I just wish the ixeg 737 was up to par because it has huge potential.

  13. It's not dead at all!. Before I say this, a bit of disclosure. I AM NOT involved with IXEG, and I will not discuss or mention details/plans I will let official channels do so. I met Tom at FSExpo this past year in PVD and had a good hour long discussion with him about (mostly) the 737 we all love. NO IT'S NOT DEAD. He discussed details with me that if he wishes to share one day he can, but it's not my story to tell. But it's a VERY interesting story at that!. You folks would not believe the dark side of developing that happens. Like many of you, I too have been frustrated with the 737, but after talking to Tom at Expo, I can say I heard it from the horses mouth, THE 737 IS STILL BEING WORKED ON!!! Again I won't discuss what Tom discussed with me about what's being worked on. ALso @tkyler I would like to thank you again for you time at expo, was an absolute pleasure meeting and talking!

  14. First time I’ve tried it in XP12. Plane is ok for me in XP 12.2 beta 6. I have yet to do a long flight but I’ll report back, but so far sounds are great, controls are great, loading/fuel worlds, RXP 530 works. Lighting seems perfect so far. I’ll try some other loacations. Only things that seem amiss are to do with the aircon and possibly the de-icing but I haven’t used it in years so that might just be me. I must say, given that it is absolutely flyable and without literally any graphical glitches for me in 12.2, I cannot for the life of me understand why it hasn’t been updated. Like, how long would it reasonably take to slap a compatibility update on this thing? I’d pay for it. Others would also pay if this thread is anything to go by. It’s a unique plane in X-Plane both aesthetically and in terms of the airlines that still use it and it genuinely sucks that we still don’t have it ‘officially’. Thanks *oh I guess technically the windshield is ‘dirty’ or has permanent rain drops on it but that’s minor to the point that I don’t even know if I can be bothered fixing it.

  15. Sure it can. And it will until the 737 is where we want it.

  17. Edited to add: disregard the question below, but I'll leave this in case it helps others. After creating a Combination 2 and quitting and restarting X-Plane, Combination 2 is now an option for a keyboard shortcut target. ----- Great add on! Is it possible to set a keyboard shortcut to any combinations other than CL650:panel_combination:Combination 1? I can add multiple combinations to access via the Challenger 650 -> Panel Combinations menu, but only Combination 1 shows up as a keyboard shortcut option. Thanks!

  22. Hi, @Cameron I’d like to clarify something. At no point was I disrespectful in my wording. Using terms like “abandoned” or “disregard” was not meant as a personal attack, but rather as an honest reflection of how the situation looks and feels from a paying customer’s perspective. I believe constructive discussion includes not only praise, but also criticism...sometimes strong criticis, especially when issues remain unresolved for years. Expecting customers to tone down their language to a point where frustration cannot even be expressed seems unreasonable. I respect the work behind the scenes, but I also ask for the same respect in allowing honest, even if firm, feedback.
    2 points
  23. That’s all very nice to hear, but as paying customers, we’ve been listening to “behind the scenes stories” for years while the aircraft remains broken, outdated, and without proper updates. Promises, secret details, or “trust me, it’s being worked on” don’t change the reality: the IXEG 733 has been in the same state since its rushed XP12 release, leaving customers with a paid product that feels abandoned. Transparency and real communication through official channels would speak louder than any private conversation.

Linux wizardry that I want to learn and thats an very good thread to start learning some things hehe Thanky to you all for trying to help me. 25. Hi, Apologies for the delay in replying. I have done some extensive tests, and the following are my observations. Sounds: * I checked my sliders in X-Plane - all maxed. I discovered my headset was set as system COMMUNICATION DEVICE, and not HEADPHONES. This seemed to make a minor difference in quality due to the max bitrate of the output. * Nose gear RETRACT sound - this only plays ONCE! Once you have taken off and retracted the gear, it NEVER plays again unless you land, AND THE NOSEWHEEL TOUCHES THE GROUND. I'm assuming there is some air/ground logic tied to the nosegear, and for some reason the gear retract audio is dependent upon the aircraft having been on the ground. You can replicate this by flying around and just cycling the gear. Extension plays always; retraction only plays on the first retract cycle since being on the ground. * AP disconnect sound is practically inaudible, even with headphone volume turned up and being deafened by the engine noise. * Wind noise is extremely quiet if it is present. I flew at 300 kts and couldn't discern any difference in noise. DME: * DME speed and time display - this is bugged. It works as expected as long as the aircraft trajectory is in the 180 cone flying AWAY from the station. As soon as the aircraft has any closure rate with the station, the DME speed/time reads zero (e.g., flying directly towards the station still reads zero). Flight Director/Autopilot: * HDH mode - I checked real-world docs, and it should roll to wings level THEN hold whatever heading it is flying the moment it reaches wings level. It is NOT a simple wing-leveler; if the aircraft is disturbed after this point, it will roll back to the heading it was on. The bug is that it is capturing the heading at whatever moment ANY flight director or AP mode is engaged. This is the part that is not correct. For the avoidance of doubt, the sequence of events for HDH mode is thus: * HDH mode (e.g., all FD and AP modes DISABLED). * Aircraft is flown with e.g., a 20 degree left bank * AP is engaged. * ALT HLD engages, and HDH becomes the active roll mode * Aircraft at moment of activation is passing 210 degrees heading * Aircraft should roll to wings level, at say 200 degrees heading * HDH should enter heading-hold submode at wings-level on 200 degrees, and not any other heading that was present prior to this. HDH mode should "forget" the heading it was on when the AP is disengaged. Upon being re-engaged, it will again roll wings level ONLY, and THEN hold whatever heading it is on at that moment. The roll knob will operate as it currently does as this is correct. Confirmed working as you describe: * GPU generator (seems the default setting of 800 A is already sufficient to prevent volt drop during start) * Battery overheat * Engine fan - I compared this to several videos on YT (yes, I'm aware of the problems of sound recording and YT compression), and it sounds very similar.

  31. Can't get my mind off the 717 for the simulator...did I little bit of scavenging and most of the IXEG and X-Aviation developers on this website forum are not really online, if you visit the X-Aviation site you can see a lot of general aviation planes that are out with 1 newly released plane, I haven't heard of any of the other planes that they have released other than the MU-2 and the Classic 737 but I might just not be caught up with everything or if they might've been released before their 737, maybe their focus is on general aviation instead There are other people trying to get this plane for x-plane like the Freeware 717 but that is about 6 years old now, the updates look pretty good and there were a lot of good pictures coming out of that but the modeling delivery has been going on for about 3 years now...not sure if the person is still working on it since we haven't had an update from them since 2022ish? Otherwise we are thankful that there are efforts to put a proper 717 for the flight sim like the TFDI one, we aren't the ones developing it after all, we're just waiting..

  32. I'm usually not that guy, but in this case, don't get your hopes too high. The last progress update (no, not aircraft update, just an update on the update) was in July last year, and since then, the developer keeps radio silence. It's been almost two years since the Moo last got an update (May 2023); bugs long known (missing click spot etc.) never got fixed (or the fix never published). That's sad for a $60 add-on, but nothing we can do about.
    2 points
  33. And if I may add my 2-cents worth... that is a smart policy. So many developers (including XPlane/Laminar Research) lately are issuing incomplete "beta" products, thus turning their paying customers into unpaid testers for products still in development. I much prefer to be patient and wait until all, or most, or the bugs are ironed out and the product works according to the developer's plan. There will still be tweaks and adjustments but that way the customer is assured of getting something reasonably close to what they paid for.

  35. @roxmate We appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration. We've all been there as humans. However, I'd like to cover a few key points about upgrade pricing, time-limited offers, and how this practice aligns with industry standards across many different sectors. It's not unique to IXEG, and the cost of these add-ons are not life changing for the value they provide over the life of the item. Heck, you're only just now looking at an upgrade 9 years after your original purchase! I think it's pretty important people treat developers as people trying to live life and consider this expertise as a job, rather than an entitled hobby. Promotional pricing and limited-time discounts are standard business practices. Airlines frequently offer discounted fares for a limited period, but once the sale ends, passengers must pay full price. Should I be upset about this as a loyal customer who flies on my preferred airline and has status with them? The person next to me could very well have paid hundreds less. Similarly, hotels, subscription services, and even retailers like Amazon offer promotional pricing for a set period. If you miss the window, the deal is gone. This includes items you may purchase over and over. Likewise, when tech companies release new versions of software, they often provide early bird pricing or upgrade discounts for a limited time. Once the deadline passes, the standard pricing applies. Microsoft, Adobe, and many others are included in that. When you purchased the IXEG 737 in 2016, you received years of value from it in X-Plane 10 and X-Plane 11. The fact that it is no longer compatible with X-Plane 12 is due to platform evolution, not an arbitrary decision on IXEG's. When you buy a game or software, it doesn’t come with a lifetime guarantee of compatibility with all future versions of the operating system or platform. For example: A PlayStation 4 game does not automatically entitle you to a PlayStation 5 version for free. Some X-Plane developers have not even bothered to offer any discount at all. We did. X-Plane itself has required users to buy new versions (X-Plane 11 → X-Plane 12) rather than getting free updates forever. Loyalty discounts are meant to reward early adopters and returning customers within a set timeframe. Extending it indefinitely would defeat the purpose of having a promotion at all. Companies regularly run promotions with a defined expiration date. Steam and other game platforms frequently offer limited-time discounts, but customers who miss them must pay full price. We clearly communicated the timeframe of the loyalty discount in multiple places, multiple times, and gave ample opportunity for previous customers to take advantage of it. Nobody is forced to purchase the upgraded version. If you choose to continue flying in X-Plane 12 and want the IXEG 737, the upgrade is available at full price (or you can wait for a sale during holidays). While it may not appear all that different to some, the work involved to get the Classic Plus to market and at a proper baseline to what we had in X-Plane 11 was extensive development work, not just a minor patch. Just as X-Plane 12 itself required a new purchase, the IXEG 737 for XP12 reflects long months of work, visual improvements, and compatibility updates. While we do value all our customers, we also value and respect our own time. Our approach to upgrade pricing was carefully considered to balance fairness for both our loyal customers and our development team, who put significant work into this new version. While we understand that not everyone will agree with this approach, it's also not out of line in the grand scheme of things. We appreciate your understanding, and we hope you continue to enjoy flight simulation, whether with the IXEG 737 or other aircraft in your collection.

  39. As promised, the desktop application has been updated and a new release has been submitted to X-Aviation for uploading. Version 2.1 adds compatibility with IXEG 737 Classic Plus and X-Plane 12. There will be a significant difference with the previous version: the desktop application will no longer use its own navdata. Instead, it will be connecting to X-Plane's navdata (via the iGoConnect plugin) akin to how it works with the iOS application. Disadvantage: it will take slightly more time when getting airport or navaid information and you need to have X-Plane running. Advantage: no need to maintain several navdata files. It also includes improved SID and STAR procedures. Since, all code related to navdata has been rewritten, it is possible that some bugs may still exist. Please let me know if you find one. I am working on updating the iOS version as well. Thank you!

Broke my heart when they got into some tiff with nVidia and stopped making gpu's the 3090 being the last one. I bought the nvidia 4090fe mostly due to size constraints. I an 83 years old, retired 34 years ago, purchased and moved onto a motor yacht, presently in St Maarten, Dutch West Indies in the Caribbean. As you must imagine, other than expenses associated with this boat, I have little to spend money on which enables the ability to buy whatever hardware I need to fly X-Plane since I miss having owned my own aircraft , a Mooney which I purchased new in 1967 and have more than 10,000 hours of pilot in command time in that aircraft and many others. Kind of a special case. I have all but begged Coop to complete and release the updated Mooney's, please before I die.

  44. Good afternoon, Is there any ETA for the next update? It’s been 9 months since the release, and it seems like the company is dead. This forum seems dead too... no one says anything, no one from the team speaks. Sorry, but this is quite frustrating and a bit infuriating as well. The 733 is full of problems in VNAV, FMC, etc. Some flights are satisfactory and the aircraft does its job perfectly, but in others (and these others are the vast majority) the aircraft simply does what it wants. Most of the time, it’s almost impossible to control the speed of the plane and get it on the ideal glide slope during final approach. Not to mention the aircraft sounds, which are terrible, and it’s almost impossible to adjust the volume of each thing (this is surreal). It’s not possible that in 9 months there hasn’t been anything to release or at least some information from the IXEG team. Practically all the aircraft manufacturers for X-Plane have already released several updates fixing numerous bugs, and IXEG remains with the same aircraft since the day of release. This wouldn’t even be a problem if at least the company gave some sort of explanation to those who bought the aircraft (which is far from being a cheap addon). Best regards and peace.

  45. Your FMC doesn't automatically know how much fuel you have onboard. During your pre-flight preparations (and once fuelling is complete) navigate to the PERF INIT page. Press the CLR button and then click the line select key next to CALC FUEL. This will then become "SENSED FUEL". This should eliminate your CHK FUEL issues going forward.

  46. Hello, The ATS will fail when you test the reversers as part of the normal procedures. When the annunciator says FAIL disconnect the ATS using the buttons on the back of the throttles (or a key binded to autothrottle disconnect). Then you may re-enable it by pressing TOGA. Brgds
