  1. Captains, X-Aviation and IXEG are pleased to provide you a free update to version 1.0.7 of the IXEG 737 Classic! Typically we don't make a habit of doing updates like this back to back, but due to an accidental transmission of slightly out of date files from the IXEG team to X-Aviation we are having to issue this "emergency" 1.0.7 HotFix. We do apologize for any inconvenience! Just like with our previous update, we will use the HotFix upgrade system here. Rather than going and re-downloading an entire aircraft package, or having to go through a full re-install process, we will be offering more immediate code changes through this delivery method. In short, it's quick, easy, and kind of fun! Please read below how to install this update! Version 1.0.6 was released yesterday and was pretty important. 1.0.7 retains everything 1.0.6 had in it, so no need to obtain 1.0.6 if you didn't previously apply the HotFix ID for it! But first, here's what's in it... Version 1.0.7 introduces the following fixes: Fix to "climb page soft crash" Fix to some DCT points disappearing on RTE page Fix to VNAV profiles going over the mach switchover altitude, where you would get UNABLE cruise message To upgrade your aircraft to version 1.0.7 please follow the below steps: Open X-Plane and the 737 Classic as your aircraft In the X-Plane menu bar at top, select Plugins > Gizmo64 > Windows > HotFix You will be asked to enter in your HotFix ID. Copy and paste in the following: e93aecd6f410a55e29965a43e2774142 Click 'Update' Once it has downloaded and installed, click 'Reboot' and you'll be done! Thank you for all of your support! Rather than going and re-downloading an entire aircraft package, or having to go through a full re-install process, we will be offering more immediate code changes through this delivery method. In short, it's quick, easy, and kind of fun! Please read below how to install this update! But first, here's what's in it... Version 1.0.6 introduces the following new features: Added FMC reset after landings for turn-around flights so you don’t have to reboot Gizmo. Implemented fuel qty output on PROG page Implemented ETA to T/C, T/D, and E/D on PROG page Implemented Wind speed/dir on PROG page Improved VNAV speed target functionality on VNAV descents New datarefs for Pilotedge pilots. PE can now fail any electrical bus or your hydraulics remotely. Allow use of VNAV for climb and cruise without requiring T/D to exist. Version 1.0.6 introduces the following fixes: Improved ETA values on the PROGRESS page to active and NEXT waypoints. Fixed bug where on the PROGRESS PAGE, fuel used was displayed improperly. Fixed bug where sometimes the magenta route would draw ‘backwards’ from the takeoff runway. Four general fixes for gizmo soft-crashing related to LNAV/VNAV algorithms. Now you can’t enter manual MCP SPD autothrust mode when on VNAV anymore Bearing and distance on FIX INFO page now updates dynamically as you move. Stopped the autopilot speed getting set to 001 in some circumstances Added warning window if the aircraft is not installed into correct X-Plane folder/path. Improved route drawing with conditional waypoints in Navigraph DB Improved waypoint sequencing to be more reliable More accurate Vref entry methods on APPROACH REF page. Fixed lights being "blocky" when having 737 installed and using IVAO Fixed FD MA lights to not turn off when autopilot is engaged FLARE no longer lingering on FMA after autoland and both FDs and APs are off Fixed one case that would lead to having a loop in the route before the missed approach HOLDING pattern Hardened code against speed restriction altitude deletion Improved import and wrong calculation of some altitude restrictions Only show CDU message, ”CHECK ALTITUDE TARGET" when actually engaging the VNAV button. To upgrade your aircraft to version 1.0.6 please follow the below steps: Open X-Plane and the 737 Classic as your aircraft In the X-Plane menu bar at top, select Plugins > Gizmo64 > Windows > HotFix You will be asked to enter in your HotFix ID. 3. THIS one is my fault for not committing / SYNC'ng with XA servers before the hotfix went out. This issue IS already fixed and we'll get a rapid turnaround hotfix out asap. Super sorry folks, it was a long day of debugging and I got sloppy! -tkyler

  4. yes, that is absolutely Fix #1 above! It was a simple typo on my part. Sometimes when you code for 12 hours....you get some "muscle memory" in your fingers and end up typing things you shouldn't -tkyler

  5. There will be an INOP sticker on the switch (like in real) probably in v1.1.

  9. Just stop. I gave you an answer. It's not changing. I'm absolutely disinterested in getting into a debate with a man who has a problem moving his mouse to a sub folder to select an aircraft. There ARE reasons for this. They ARE very valid. You are NOT the one providing support, and you do NOT have a clue as to why this is necessary. That is OKAY. And that's precisely why you're not the one programming this project or taking lead for us. Your lack of knowledge to the reasons and ways of how these things work is enough for me to not continue this discussion with you. It's an absolute waste of time.

  10. Hi Everyone! The amount of liveries available in such a short time is just amazing Currently there are in total over 400 liveries available! So, I'm going to do an attempt to try to maintain an alfabetical list here with what is available to make things a bit easier to find. I probably missed a few already, so it would be great if you below can post links to liveries not in the list, then I'll put them in. 12. I have not seen anything like this since I started flight simming in 1995. Nothing comes close (I know what I am taking about )! The combination X-Plane with IXEG 737-300… Makes me smile every time I use the combo. And THE SUPPORT! Thank you so much!!!

  13. just updated to 1.0.7 will tell you how it is... but since Camera shake unticked I didn't have the issue anymore.

  14. I agree with you, but let's just hope in a future x-plane version, Laminar doesn't gets as rigid by not allowing plug-ins and stuff to run from outside the x-plane's dedicated paths, it would be a great mess...

  15. Will the emergency hotfix include the gizmo crash when deploying and setting flaps? These were the errors. error: 3563.149: RunLuaFunction(timer): run_Flaps: [string "ixeg.733.fmc.climb.lua.aes"]:133: attempt to get length of field 'climbSpeedRestrictions' (a nil value) error: 3565.125: RunLuaFunction(timer): fmc_periodic: [string "ixeg.733.fmc.climb.lua.aes"]:133: attempt to get length of field 'climbSpeedRestrictions' (a nil value) Thanks for the hard work to get this emergency hotfix out as quickly as you can! EDIT: Just saw on facebook the emergency hotfix will fix the flaps as well. Thank you, can't wait to fly this plane. (hopefully this evening)

  17. I have 3 fixes in this emergency hotfix. 1.) Fix to soft crash on climb page (the most critical) 2.) Fix to VNAV profiles when cruise altitude was above the mach switchover altitude. If you do cruise alts less than @ 27000', you won't see this bug. 3.) Fix to DCT to points on the RTE page disappearing (but still on the legs page). If I can find / fix anymore in the next few mins before XA gets back from lunch and shoots out the hotfix, I will! -tkyler

  19. Don't put the ixeg in a different folder. Keep it to where it's supposed to be. There's a good reason why it's supposed to be where it's meant to be.

  20. thanks for reporting. the issue has been identified and we are working on a fix. This functionality got borked when we tried to make a smarter FMS choose between two identical waypoints that are next to each other (happens when appending points to airways and procedures). Our initial approach was to 'choose one', but the proper method is to create a 'hybridized waypoint' with some properties from one (such as restrictions) and other properties from the other (such as whether its direct or part of an airway). -tkyler

  28. Hi, this is the same error we see over and over - the other ones are just follow-up crashes. I am not sure you can revert (you could before by putting in the code number for previous hotfixes), but I expect this one to get fixed within a very short timeframe. Tom is still asleep (it´s 05:40 a.m. in Texas)... Jan

  31. Don´t delete stuff on the CLIMB page, it is mostly for viewing your current limitiation - you can delete/edit the speed restriction altitude and speed, though. To manage your restrictions, go to the LEGS page and change them there. Your mileage with procedure turns and teardrops may vary - I am not quite sure how they hold up right now ;-) Jan

  32. Hiya's, Thankyou to All the Team for the hotfix And as to having to have a seperate folder for the plane, i'll chirp in from a laymans pov As to having to install a product into a differing plane folder/location, so be it ............. If you put yourself in the position of a team working to create a great product with actual years of their time being input, then having to recoup that time via sales, how the hell would you feel when many try to get that product for free !! and at the same time wanting to evolve it to make it better FFS i was into my 1st or 2nd livestreaming viewing of Catstrator very shortly after the release of the plane, some young scrote pm'ed me asking if i would give him a dl link to the plane ! Would anyone here expect to work for free and be able to live especially with living costs these days, of course you wouldn't If having a seperate install folder/location protects their interests and keeps the coffers filled so more fixes can come out, i for one couldn't give a damn where it installs as long as it's working (do not add bugs as not working, i mean if fails to open etc) Sheesh Rant Over lol Have Fun Tony

  34. I'm sorry you feel this way. This will not be changing, and we won't be having debates about it. I'll leave my brief explanation below and that's all I'll have to say about it. While you may feel the aircraft works fine, it has potential not to. And, by moving it around you 100% guarantee yourself a miserable upgrade experience going forward. We are on the receiving end of thousands of customers, making our support situation even more miserable when things go wrong due to this. It was time we nip this habit.

  36. hi Jürgen, from what OPS stuff I read, you want to be at (no lower preferably) 50 ft over the threshold of the rwy, then at 20 ft thrust idle and when youget the "whoa shit" feeling you "break" by pulling the nose up a few degrees. No real flaring like in light aircraft or gliders is done. If you nail it, when you break the ground effect helps and you get very smooth landings. This feels very rewarding as in real life. (landings are the best part of the flight imho.) ofc, im no expert with 0 time on seats that matter in the real 737 -roland

  37. Alright, let´s see... 1.) The autopilot will normally target V2+15 (actually up to V2+25, iirc). V2 is the speed that will be flown exactly if you have an engine failure, thats why it is being set with the orange cursor. V2 is Vstall x 1.2 - but it won´t allow more than 15 deg bank, thats why V2+15 is flown under normal conditions (bank up to 30 ok). 2.) You should be able to resume LNAV and VNAV navigation upon rejoining (or going direct to a point) of your old arrival. VNAV is still under improvement works - so keep an eye on how that performs and be ready to revert to V/S or FL CHG if it is unsatisfactory. 3.) The MCP hard barrier does not apply for the G/S pitch mode. 4.) The green circles are calculated taking diminishing performance with altitude into account (the plane is not climbing linearly). The "banana" is always "present ground speed vs present climbrate" - so it will be too optimistic during climbs, and too pessimistic during descents (since the groundspeed diminishes when lower). 5.) This should show distance to current active waypoint - but it is currently still missing and will be added in 1.1 6.) That is still being tuned - but the first descent after the T/D will be an idle-power gliding descent. The autothrottle retards the engines to idle, then goes to armed. The autopilot will keep the plane on the pre-planned path - ideally the slope is such, that the plane can "glide" at the precomputed speed without any engine thrust. If things don´t work out (too much headwind, etc.), the engine will spring back to life (FMC SPD) to boost speed back to the desired level. Then it will go dormant again... 7.) The E/D point is the last and lowest point in the route (usually the runway altitude + 50 feet) - the MCP ALT has nothing to do with the FMS´ path calculation - but will be heeded by the autopilot for level-off, if the pilot is not quick enough to "dial it out of the way". The three labels should actually be FPA (current flight path angle), VBA (vertical bearing to next altitude restriction) and V/S (required vertical speed to make the next restriction). This will be fixed and tuned in future updates. 1719.8 is the predicted time in Zulu time for CBY. Q1: The terrain display overpowers the wxr display - if both are on, terrain will be shown. Q2: There is a maximum wiper speed, but I don´t remember it right now. It is pretty high, though, so it is not a real limitation (since you will only use the wipers during approach, takeoff and taxiing. Q3: Engine out FMS mode is not modeled yet. Q4: Limitations say minimum 1000 feet agl, but you can already engage that at 400 as well. Hope this helps, Jan

  39. If you plan to get the GTX 1080 for the one reason of upping performance in X-Plane 10: save your money. I use GPUs professionally, so that's my reason. But the 1080 had to be tested in X-Plane too of course. Basically no difference between my first gen GTX Titan and GTX 1080. Still the performance of about 30-35fps. I think my system is well over many of the more regular X-Plane users here, and.. Frankly.. I'm a bit disappointed it's not performing better on this rig. I feel sorry for those who upgrade for the sole reason of using it with X-Plane.

  40. Sorry, but you have a history here of loving to debate things. Zip files vs installer, location of a plugin vs others, where a product is installed vs others. I said it twice, I'll say it again: we're not doing this discussion. Your answer was here. It's not. It is a necessary for all of our products. Further attempt to derail and implore over something that will not change will result in your suspension from the topic. Let's please move along.

  41. All in all an excellent update, @Cameron; the ability to use VNAV without having a T/D is especially welcomed. However, this particular 'fix': felt more like a regression - I have placed my IXEG 737 add-on in the 'Heavy Metal' folder so that all my tube-liners (default 747, FF 757-777 and the 787, A380 and this IXEG 737) are all together. Why is it now a requirement that the IXEG 737 alone has to be in the Aircraft/X-Aviation/ folder? The aircraft has worked entirely alright while it was in Heavy Metal, so I see no need to have this... Do you mind elaborating on why this new behaviour was included? Thanks very much.

  42. I'm really, really sorry, but this comes across as incredibly rude to a customer who has asked a valid question. I wasn't debating - I asked a question, and it was brushed aside with your response - quite literally, you just said: 'we know more than you, so shut up and use what you bought.' I've enjoyed the product so far, given it raving reviews on several other forums, and when I come here with a single question - it's deleted/locked without an explanation given, or rudely shot down like this. Why not elaborate on why we need hard-coded directories for the plane to work? In fact, I'm genuinely curious as to why this requirement is so singular to the 737, as well as the technicalities behind it. Honestly.

  45. I find it interesting that you mentioned this, since I supposed that X-Plane was completely agnostic about the location of aeroplanes, so long as they resided within the Aircraft folder. When literally every other plane for X-Plane can be wherever the user wants it to be, I honestly saw (and still see) no real reason why the 737, absolutely has to reside within a single, particular directory. I apologise for being somewhat impertinent, but being directory-agnostic (as well as payware planes/scenery being bundled in .zips) is one of X-Plane's strengths and the lack of it, the competition's weakness. I already mentioned this when the IXEG 737 was released as an installer, but I resigned to having to use the installer to download the plane and install it, admitting that it was but a small thorn to bear. I feel that when freeware products such as 7-Zip, HWMonitor and similar products can have two different versions (an .exe/.pkg installer and a .zip for more advanced users), why the makers of the 737 can't do that... I also see no reason why the complex IXEG 737 needs to place its Gizmo64 within a separate folder when a similarly complex B767 from the competition comes as an all-in-one archive to be extracted at will by the user. How hard is it to code an extra dozen lines or so to scan the entire Aircraft directory for the B733.acf file, and for good measure, throw in an MD5/SHA1 check-sum check? Do we need hard-coded file paths in this day and age? Is the 737 Classic add-on so fragile that a different parent directory will break functionality? Take it just one step further and we might even see a future add-on requiring to be installed in C:\Program Files\ on Windows or /Applications/ on OS X, or else it wouldn't work. I hope you understand where I'm coming from. Regards.
