Two hot-fixes in one week..... what great service and commitment. You know, it's not just the aircraft (which on it's own is amazing), and/or XP; it's this crew and their support and dedication to the product that really add tremendous value. You guys have raised the bar! Bruce.4 points

Captains, We are pleased to offer you a free upgrade to version 1.0.2 of the IXEG 737 Classic! Just like with our previous update, we will use the HotFix upgrade system here. Rather than going and re-downloading an entire aircraft package, or having to go through a full re-install process, we will be offering more immediate code changes through this delivery method. In short, it's quick, easy, and kind of fun! Please read below how to install this update! But first, here's what's in it... Version 1.0.2 introduces the following fixes: Solves issue where cockpit windows would not open under certain conditions when they should Entry of high ZFW numbers now accepted and fixed Solves issue where FMC weight entry got changed between kg/lb Fixes an issue where N1 Limit was not going to CRZ during VNAV cruise Clicking on FMC after pulling up MENU now displays INIT REF page Packs now adjustable by a sound slider Vertical Speed Indicator now works in replay mode Strobe lights now work in replay mode Engine fire handles no longer cause soft crash Blinding effect now removed. We will re-consider our approach on this later Fixes soft crash when adding a STAR on right side CDU Fixes soft crash when deleting a "disco" twice while in plan mode Adjusted checklist legibility in dark lit scenarios Solves an issue where Navigraph data cycle information was not displayed correctly Light test fixed to work fully in cold and dark Solves issue where spoilers would come up on touchdown even when not armed LOC and GS flags dont display anymore when station still out of range, instead the deviation pointers are removed from the scales Protection against some soft crashes happening just before touchdown. Removed a way to skip the alignment time of the IRS unit Waypoint altitude speed restriction entry overhaul Swaps inverted the key commands for spoilers To upgrade your aircraft to version 1.0.2 please follow the below steps: Open X-Plane and the 737 Classic as your aircraft In the X-Plane menu bar at top, select Plugins > Gizmo64 > Windows > HotFix You will be asked to enter in your HotFix ID. Copy and paste in the following: 3910e80e1a40dc6b3875d00d95333488 Click 'Update' Once it has downloaded and installed, click 'Reboot' and you'll be done! Thank you for all of your support! Actually, it's a bit more complicated than that When the wing enters span-dominated groundeffect - at about 1 span altitude - or about 100 feet agl on the 737CL, several things start to happen. One of them is that the downwash from the wings starts to hit the ground and it can no longer move downwards as at does in free air. Also, the wing tip vortex has less room to rotate and will slow down so you will see a drag reduction. This creates a "nose-down" already long before the flare. You will also see a speed increase because of this and the reduced drag. Then, when you enter chord-dominated ground effect, at about one chord altitude (20' agl or so on the 737), you will get a lift increase. The SUM of all this means that if you flare a tad early, you will "float" quite a bit. As Nils says when you raise the nose in the flare, this again will increase drag so while trying to keep the nose up, speed will decrease rapidly and you'll sink pretty fast and have a "hard" landing eventually and nosegear slamming into the ground. All this is modelled and our 737 and X-Plane and we have a "tuned" custom ground effect. So it's all about the timing of the flare (or "break" as Jan calls it) AND timing of retard of the throttles. If you watch some of the "amateur" videos of the 737 up on youtube you'll see they tend to flare a bit early and float in most of them. If you then watch Jan's "pro" landings in our videos, you'll see that they are much more "firm" and no float - for a reason! So, there is nothing weird going on here, it's all aerodynamics that we in X-Plane are very fortunate to have and that IXEG has refined. I could tell you about stuff like this the rest of the evening that e.g. FSX and other xp aircraft do not have modeled accurate, but I'll wait until the subjects arises M3 points

Usually, individuals who spend substantial amounts of money on flight simulator add-ons are (rightfully) offended when the developers do NOT include sufficient documentation or tutorials with their products. You are the first person I have ever seen who has taken offense because the developers (IXEG) DID include ample documentation and video tutorials. To say that your complaint makes absolutely no sense is an understatement. The documentation is not "hidden", it is right in the Documents sub folder, exactly where one would expect to find it. It is the first folder I look for when I install any new add-on for XP. As for Mike Ray's book - I see nothing on the X-Aviation product page for the IXEG 737 that implies that the book is "required". It is simply offered as a supplement for those who may want additional information about the entire 737 Classic series. (And, at a substantial discount over the normal cost of the book in printed form I might add). Though Mike has written many excellent books specifically targeted at non-pilot flight simmers, his 737 Classic book was published years before the IXEG add-on was created. This particular edition was written for real-world pilots transitioning to the 737, though there is much that is directly applicable a highly-accurate simulation of the aircraft. Since you mention that you are well aware of Mike's work, and even say you have met him in person, what is your issue?3 points

I'm happy to announce the release of v1.0 of the Let L-410 for X-Plane 10.45+ with 3D cockpit. After nearly 6 years of bumpy development and a long beta testing phase, the Let L-410 is here. This is the point where I say "stop" for v1.0. You never really can finish a plane. Still, there are awful lots of things to do. But let's leave those for v2.0 You can download the plane from http://x-plane.hu/L-410/ FEATURES: Detailed 3D cockpit Built-in Garmin GPS Realistic engine and flight model (~95% matching real data) Instrument and cockpit lighting Yoke can be hidden Basic anti and de-ice system Custom engine sounds Custom engine startup Checklist for XCheclist All basic instruments are working, you can either fly RNAV with Garmin or NON-RNAV (VOR2VOR) flights with the NAV instruments. Bugfixes, of course, will come after release, so I'll keep updating this version. PROMO VIDEO https://youtu.be/ZEpOkoPd9t8 TUTORIAL FLIGHT https://youtu.be/XihlwN_t610 THANKS I’d like to thank all the support and feedback I got from various people while developing this plane. The project took a long time to finish - with breaks - but it worth every minute. I’d like to thank Imre Kurucz, Attila Kotan, and Tibor Kokai for the images, videos and the support they gave since the beginning. There are a lot more people who gave inspiration and encouragement to finish the Let L-410, cannot name them specifically, but sometimes their word gave me the last push. Big thanks to the beta testing team: Tamas Eibel, Karoly Molnar, Lars N. and Gyorgy Buki CONTACT Follow the further development at http://bit.ly/1VUCwvj You can post your feedback here at the forum, or send me an email to mihaly.alberti [at] x-plane.hu Twitter: @xplanehu3 points

You are aware that there is a link to these videos in the manuals that are delivered with this product, right? Just click on the youtube link on the first page of the documents and you will be redirected to the video on the IXEG channel. I have no idea why You are criticizing a lack of transparency when these videos are available for all customers...just the ability to read correctly is an advantage Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk3 points

Hi, first of all, i hope that i do not report something that has already been reported. With that said, just some small findings in v1.0.2: The rotary knobs on the MCP can behave weird, especially the altitude selection knob (but i think i remember it happening to the other rotaries there as well). What happens is that i try to enter an altitude that is lower than the previously set one, overshoot said altitude in the negative direction and start moving my mouse the other way, but the altitude still decreases. I am moving the mouse left to decrease and right to increase the altitude. there might be a very small up/down movement happening, and i don't know, how the rotaries are handled exactly, so i'm unsure if this is a bug or if it's just me doing something odd. It also doesn't happen very often, i have problems reproducing it myself. Also, the EHSI range rotary needs to be dragged downwards to select a higher setting, meaning the mouse moves down, while the knob turns upwards. I have to add, that the EHSI range rotary works as intended, when i move the mouse to the right to increase the setting. Thanks for working hard on this plane, it's really appreciated. regards, byte2 points

As a sidenote, I find the altitude knob to be maybe too sensitive relative to the other knobs. It's very easy to overshoot the intended altitude even though I have my mouse set up to only 600dpi. But all in all I love the hold & drag style, way more intuitive than mouse scroll IMHO.2 points

Hi CMB, Rough ride there 1. Make sure you have the yawdamper ON 2. What is unrealistic here is the wind setting. Not the wind speed, and not the change in direction or speed, BUT the RATE they are changing at! Long story, but lets say a metar for an airport says "wind direction between 030 and 080" and windspeed "between 15-20 kts" which offcourse is realistic. What the metar however DOES NOT say is at which RATE/FREQUENCY it changes/fluctuates between those extremes! And, there is really no way of knowing unless one has live wind. I have a long topic about this at .org somewhere (few years ago) where i debate this. I've been sailing ocean sailing all my life, and I have never ever seen anything remotely like the windshear in X-Plane. In real there is no way in open landscape or high above ground a 20-30 kt wind will change +/- 30 deg within a couple sec or +/-10 kts. In real maybe a couple of times pr MINUTE not every couple of sec.. . So here the weather modell in XP is off. On the ground behind buildings, trees or landscape whre most of you live on a daily basis - sure, but thats not where we are in an airplane or at sea. Even sent Austin live streams of real wind indicators to prove it. I'm lobbying the team to try to do something about the wind change RATE, but ATM we are to busy with updating. Maybe someone else can pick up this issue either try to solve it with a plugin, or the hard way via Austin/Ben. That being said, the 737 is probably the aircraft in XP of its size that can handle the most weather M2 points

Second that! I am not a fan of these unrealistic adjustments. Any day now you guys will be adding a button to set the barometric pressure, fsx style Jan, plz resist, don't give in!2 points

But... I don't think it was ever meant to be a PROFESSIONAL COURSE video. It's just two folks talking about a plane, just a "first look at an addon X" type of thing. So, I see where you are coming from, but it's like taking a bite off an apple and saying it's nasty for not being a grape.2 points

Well, I was almost certain that this wasn´t a bug but superior IXEG/X-Plane physics that I wasn´t quite familiar with (I´ve flown other XP payware aircraft before ). So thanks for taking your time and explaining this. Sounds very convincing and therefore - as soon as you know what to expect upon flaring - I think landing the IXEG 733 will be way easier . But - because I see that you take these physics extremely serious - I really hope that we will be able to have these ground physics from v1.0.0 as an option in the future (I use a separate joystick as a tiller). The new physics seem to be less realistic - still way better than others in XP . It´s just that now upon landing you also slide a bit on the runway when applying rudder (you know what I mean?).1 point

@OP, you need to flare à 5° pitch but then you need to hold that pitch by applying/keeping some back pressure until touchdown. from the tip given by a B737Cl/NG pilot and my experience with the IXEG: if at 30fts yourV/S is <-700fts/min, start slowly to flare, then at 20 feets, flare +2/+2.5° and maintain that pitch until touch down. At 10fts, reatrd slowly the throttle to idle. If at 30 fts, your V/S is approx at -700fts, you just need to flare +2/+2.5° at 20fts and retard at 10 fts. start to look @8:05, and watch the yoke input at 30 Fts until touch down.1 point

Thanks for the heads up. I just found out myself, that the EHSI range knob works as intended when draging left to right. Also, thanks for the hard work and the responsiveness, i have never experienced a developer of any software that is as intensively in contact with the customers as you guys from IXEG are. regards, byte1 point

It is normal for the nose to come back down after the initial pull up on flare. Part because the stabilizer comes into ground effect, part because speed is decaying.1 point

Air Contractors Ireland - IXEG B737-300 View File I quite like this simple livery, but for some reason EI-STA only wore it for about a year before moving on to a much more plain and boring ASL livery. Thought I'd recreate this nice looking machine instead! Winglets not painted as the real aircraft doesn't have them (plus that pattern would be a real PITA to do). Why do you need to copy a post "for the record"? Considering that Mike Ray's 737 Classic book has been in print for well over 15 years, (and is available from his own web site, as well as multiple other online vendors), it should be rather obvious that it was not written specifically for the IXEG 737. There is nothing on the X-Aviation product page that implies it was. You (evidently) made an incorrect assumption, and seem to feel that this is somehow IXEG's fault? Their making a PDF version available at a discount was a nice gesture. They certainly do not need to "defend" having done so. As for the rest of your rant, you do yourself no favors by posting such opinions, and none of it is applicable to flight simulation.1 point

Hi Cameron, I bought the B737 manual in pdf format on day 1 or 2. It's a good manual. My only beef is every time I open the file, it requires a numeric input - a nuisance. I would definitely like to upgrade to the hard copy. Please advise when it is ready. Thanks for all the hard work.1 point

Great video production! I also have their Q400 P3D series I love the humor it makes it fun and informative to listen to. (those poor nuns that took that flight :))1 point

Great info Steve, thanks for this. I worked in flight planning before I went flying and found that on the Classic a cost index over 100 would just burn more fuel and save you pretty much no time. I found CI 70 to be a good figure if you are running late and want to make up time. Also a CI over 100 puts your speeds right up next to the VMO/MMO and can be very dangerous in even smooth but variable winds in flight. Our company sometimes tries to give us a CI of 150 and doesn't really think of what this will command from the aircraft, and how close to the margins it puts us. As airmen we will reduce our speeds as appropriate to give ourselves a margin of safety, This prevents us having to fill out an "air safety report" for over-speeding :-). Shifty1 point

mgeiss has it right - don´t arm the A/T until lining up (for this very reason - it has happened in real life, too!)... To cancel the modes, FD´s off then on SHOULD work... if it doesn´t please post so in the support section! Thanks, Jan1 point

I am really sorry if your initial experience was not a pleaseant one and the whole team is cranking right now (like I have never seem them in the last few months...) to bring out the first update - with many more to follow! Notwithstanding the dedication of the IXEG team to their quality product and their effort to make sure the faults and bugs are fixed quickly, this is a $75 product that out of the box is not fit for the purpose. If it was a digital radio or a television that was purchased at the electronics store on Saturday morning and one found that certain local radio stations or national TV stations were not available on it due to a software problem then I am sure the vast majority of purchasers would have been back on Saturday afternoon demanding a refund. I have stood back from purchasing the B733 classic as I expected a few clitches but I think there are far too many for a product that is $75 and has been beta tested. Hopefully the fixes will appear real soon and the forums will be full of satisfied and content simmers who are reporting that this is the best ever for X-Plane. Then I will be there with my credit card, hopefully I will get more US$ for my British Pound.1 point
