1. Fly approach to EDDF, ILS07C.....execute missed approach to TAU VOR 2. Fly approach to ILS07C again...miss it again, divert to EDDK....missed approach there 3. Divert back to EDDF, ILS07C 4. Just before IAF, change arrival to runway 07C with 19NM runway extension waypoint and bank hard right to catch the extension waypoint and bleed some speed, then hard left to reintercept the leg between the extension waypoint and 07C threshold. VNAV calculations got a bit off during this little test, what with all the CDU shenanigans going on, but the FMS didn't crash....quite the plus. For normal flights without missed approaches, everything is performing quite well. VNAV calibrations continue. -tkyler9 points

I confess, I took a week off and went to Germany and Zurich for some R&R. Pressing CDU buttons 1000 times a day got quite old. I am back though and we are moving through the bugs we find reasonably well. We made good strides yesterday and today I am flying several missed approaches to test CDU entries during that phase when you want to refly the approach. Yesterday we tested short routes....like 25NM short with high cruise altitudes where you can't make the cruise alt but still have to transition the aircraft from climb to descent at some "intersection point" between climb and descent paths. So these really fringe situations must be explored as they can be entered and can crash the simulation if not accounted for. So we only have a few things left, but they take quite some time to test properly as we are all finding out. Its common to fly a 25 minute flight, discover a bug, fix the bug (sometimes a simple typo, other times not) and then fly the route another 25 minutes to verify and then try a similar route somewhere else just to make sure.....so 1.5hrs of time lost to a typo. (actually happened....had a dash instead of an underscore for a variable name). And if the bug is more severe...then it can take half a day or more to track it down due to having to monitor so many variables during a flight. Oh well, we keep going. -tkyler5 points

I asked the team to make me 20 years younger and have full hair again, but they were cruel enough to take present-day pictures .4 points

So we'll not only need a paint kit for the plane but also for Jan himself. I can already see "VoKuHiLa Jan", "Afro Jan", "Dreadlock Jan"...3 points

I'd say about $75-$100. It's how much you're paying for a top of the market FSX add-on, as well as what most of us would be prepared to pay for "Recreational Software" as I like to call it . However if I may say so, price is not a super big showstopper at this point for a lot of us. If IXEG wants a little bit more for 5 years of hard work and many more continuous updates, so be it. I think it's gonna be a little bit longer before they divulge the true price. It's this kind of suspense that keeps people on these forums five times a day. K2 points

Hello Captains!, Today we're excited to announce what's coming forward for SkyMaxx Pro v3.1. This will be a free update for all current SkyMaxx Pro v3 owners! We anticipate release for this to be sometime within the next 2-3 weeks. At this time we are in the 12th beta with our internal group of testers. With this free update you can look forward to the following: - Landing lights now illuminate clouds as you fly through them! - Performance enhancements to reduce "stutters" when new cloud conditions are loaded - Many overall performance enhancements - More variation in cloud shapes - More accurate cloud altitudes - Visual improvements to solid and broken stratiform clouds - Numerical setting values now displayed in the config screen - New ability to save and load named configuration sets - More tuning of cloud lighting, visibility, and shadow effects - Ready for the upcoming Real Weather Connector product Hope you like what's coming your way!1 point

That's great to hear! There's an idea for a few extra bucks: The Jan expansion pack- 15 versions of Jan, varying in age, hair, etc1 point

I talked to Nils who made "me" and the FO, and the textures for the heads will not be encrypted - so anyone with a camera and a bit of photoshop wits should be able to make a version of himself. Note that the 3D head is tailored to my head, so your results may vary. I personally think we should have asked Lena for help, here... . Jan1 point

It's because the thrust levers are in idle and gear is not down and locked.1 point

I think we we're told we'd have some tutorial videos 4-5 weeks before the release. That hasn't happened, so if the plan hasn't changed we probably have some waiting still ahead. But, I've taken a healthy break from our beloved sim for the time being, so the release will be even sweeter! Who knows, we might even get the Real Weather Connector and SMP 3.1 at some point. Good times ahead!1 point

Hello everyone, February 24. 1984(i think) the first flight of the Boeing 737-300. Will this release date IXEG? :-P What IXEG team? Have a nice weekend Martin.1 point

Hello IXEG team, I would like to know how to become a beta tester, if there's a chance; I would like to test it in Ecuador due to some IFR approaches can't be done well by some well-known airplanes like A320 and B757, even if the Airac is updated. Thanks and have a nice day!!!1 point

Mornings are definitely no good time to fly into Dubai... Some planes have been in that holding pattern for over 40 minutes!!1 point

I saw that video, and had to post the mother of all flight tests. When asked by the suits what the hell he was doing, Tex Johnston, the test pilot, answered, "Selling airplanes". (Sorry for the thread-jacking)1 point

Something for entertainment while waiting... Here a cool video of a 737-400 performing flight tests because of wingstalls before the autoslat kicks in. Some shots of the wing (either with or without flow indicating wires) and in the cockpit. Not a -300, still a classic.1 point

Someone gave links to real 737 videos you can buy online, not associated with this 737 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Wow with all the hype here I thought we were days away from release. I understand you guys want to get it right the first time, in the meantime the FF 767 fills the void. I will also buy some of those 737 videos so I can learn the systems when the plane is released. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

We have no idea really. We are on the final stretch and working very hard. Every FMS page shipping in V1.0 is in place and we are calibrating our VNAV performance calculations. I would remind everyone we are sim consumers ourselves and we make no decisions we ourselves wouldn't be willing to live with as consumers....and we want it as right as we can get it given current constraints. Doing so means years of satisfaction instead of 'days of frustration'. and March is no good for me, I'll be out of savings by then.....earlier actually -tkyler1 point

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! This means it will be released somewhere in february or march.1 point

Almost there - we want to make sure "we have it" before announcing a firm release date. Once the plane is feature complete (for V1.0) we will announce the date, then its another few weeks to finish everything up - during these weeks we will release the tutorial videos one by one. Jan1 point

Is there a new "maybe release" date? Like January 2016? Or are we just waiting for the pre release tutorial videos?1 point
-
There are plenty of other products available to purchase today if you are unwilling or unable to wait for a product that has been completed to a standard that we feel is acceptable to sell.1 point
