This error would be your internet timing out during the download process.

For what it's worth I did manage to find it - abus/CL650/ARINC429/FDCU-1/words/FCC/0/IAS_REF . It's set to 1 when Mach is used and 0 if IAS/kts.

This is an odd one. Xplane ATC does not recognize the changes in radio frequency. If you change the freq using ATC menu. it does not change the freq on 737. Though if i tune radios to ATC it can hear ATIS etc. Works fine with other planes. Log.txt

Hi at all. I have read that TDS is starting the beta of this product (differently from the RXP, it's possible to update AIRAC with Navigraph), and its will be release soon. I hope in an update of the MU-2 with this integration

I am finding that everything is over saturated in XP12 at night. Anything I can do?

Is there a good way to taxi with the DC-3 (classic) when no rudder pedals (or joystick with a twist axis) is available? I understand, that the most realistic way to do this would be the use of rudder pedals but due to space constraints, I am not currently able to use them. I am using a Logitech ATK3 Joystick, so I have normal X/Y axis and an additional vertical axis for throttle. I'm would be fine with assigning something on the keyboard for the purpose of taxiing but so far I have not found anything that wouldn't adversly effect usability during flight. Other aircraft with a nosewheel steering work fine with just the joystick but obviously, the DC-3 is more special. I enabled differential breaking and differential thrust for ground handling in the settings and played around with various sensitivities. As long as nothing is assigned to the rudders in my setup, X-Plane will apply automatic rudder based on the aileron. (see also https://developer.x-plane.com/article/rudder-auto-coordination-in-x-plane-12/). Note that this "auto rudder" will cease to work once the rudder is manipulated through any other means (e.g. keystrokes assigned to rudder left/right/center). While auto-rudder works, 100% aileron will result in 20% rudder. However, that does not control the direction of the plane on the ground regardless of the differential breaking or differential throttle settings and tailwheel locking status. I can get some control when assigning rudder to keystrokes but then there will be no auto-rudder in flight which makes flying the aircraft very difficult. I also tried using keystrokes for reducing or increasing power on engines individually but that interfered with the throttle assignemnt on the joystick (once the keystrokes are used, controlling both engines with the joystick no longer works) Maybe there are other things to try...

First time I’ve tried it in XP12. Plane is ok for me in XP 12.2 beta 6. I have yet to do a long flight but I’ll report back, but so far sounds are great, controls are great, loading/fuel worlds, RXP 530 works. Lighting seems perfect so far. I’ll try some other loacations. Only things that seem amiss are to do with the aircon and possibly the de-icing but I haven’t used it in years so that might just be me. I must say, given that it is absolutely flyable and without literally any graphical glitches for me in 12.2, I cannot for the life of me understand why it hasn’t been updated. Like, how long would it reasonably take to slap a compatibility update on this thing? I’d pay for it. Others would also pay if this thread is anything to go by. It’s a unique plane in X-Plane both aesthetically and in terms of the airlines that still use it and it genuinely sucks that we still don’t have it ‘officially’. Thanks *oh I guess technically the windshield is ‘dirty’ or has permanent rain drops on it but that’s minor to the point that I don’t even know if I can be bothered fixing it.

Basic nav aid panel with the fms. Tracking the LOC inbound just before intercepting the GS you have to manually release the altitude hold then it will track the GS. Interesting as I've never come across this. Usually with GS intercept the altitude hold trips off.

And if I may add my 2-cents worth... that is a smart policy. So many developers (including XPlane/Laminar Research) lately are issuing incomplete "beta" products, thus turning their paying customers into unpaid testers for products still in development. I much prefer to be patient and wait until all, or most, or the bugs are ironed out and the product works according to the developer's plan. There will still be tweaks and adjustments but that way the customer is assured of getting something reasonably close to what they paid for.

I have the same issue. The turbo Islander loads and then crashes XP12 after the plane is loaded and activated. I have 4 versions of xp12 on two different machines. All with realityxp which worked fine in the islander with earlier versions of XP12. have also installed tdssim gtn on 2 versions and wprks fine with citation and cirrus entegra but Islander still crashes with the same ending in the log file that stevebker had.

I used to fly these with the classic radio suite, No GPS, an outdated database in the FMC, a paper chart on my lap and the owner serving me pepsi and peanuts. Good old days. Will buy this for sure! Nice work!

I don't have any good solution to offer, but I'll try myself to find what's possible to be done with that kind of setup. If nothing good turns out, I'll see if I can add some kind of option, in the next update, to help you.

@InitiatedAunt74 currently the only way to get the Gizmo plugin is if you own any X-Aviation product. Uh wait what? I thought Gizmo was available for, and required by a variety of freeware aircraft including the PIAGGIO P180_Avanti_II from this forum's downloads section. There's a website with a broken dropbox link, but this Gizmo thing, which is uniquely associated with x-pilot and x-aviation is now abandonware that can't be downloaded anywhere? >Gizmo64 is a plugin for the X-Plane flight simulator that lets you program in Lua Script. So, now, besides not being available for Linux, which is one of the three platforms that XPlane users use, we have the issue that it's basically not possible to get this and use it for aircraft developers, or people using things that rely on it? Shouldn't the gizmo64.com website be downed then? Other references on other forums point to this being used by other commercial and freeware products.

It turns out that for the Piaggio specifically, it includes a subdirectory with a zip file inside that includes the runtime files needed to install in your primary X-Plane plugins folder. Isn't that hilarious? The author of the Piaggio stated that it wasn't there, but I was looking around, and it's there. Anyways, my complaint was not that I can't have a free aircraft (WAH! POOR ME!) my complaint is that I'm a new X-Plane aircraft maker of freeware aircraft and wanted to evaluate this thing to see if I want to use it. We had been discussing SASL versus GIZMO over on .org's plane maker sub forum. But I'm distinctly displeased not only with Ben's attitude towards me, but also the way he treats other people on threads on these forums. It seems to me that Gizmo is a one man show, and I'm not a big fan of that one man's attitude or vibe. You remember that kid who wants to take his marbles and go home, when you were in grade three. Yeah that. The Piaggio is a great draw to the X-Pilot site as it's literally one of the nicest freeware aircraft out there for X-Plane. However, I do not much like the Gizmo process of being a main-XPlane-resources folder plugin, I would much rather it be a per aircraft plugin, but perhaps that's not possible. Whatever, it works. Strike two is lack of Linux support, as I want to provide all three. Strike three, is it seems that freeware use is probably not a great idea, as the focus seems to be for payware authors, and if you want to use it, you use it at Ben's discretion and if and only if he says so, which seems like not a great fit if being thought of as an alternative to SASL, which it's basically not.
