  3. The manual is outdated. Please use the X-Plane default GUI to enter weight, balance and fuel (the IXEG now uses the new load-station physics available in XP12, therefore the old ground services menu way of setting this could not be used anymore.

  4. Hello all, About a year ago I picked up the Q400 as my first turboprop (wanted to branch out and try something a little from my usual jetliner flights) and immediately was hooked on the unique handling (specifically landing) and visceral experience that two roaring turboprop engines provided... But now after a good while spent in the Dash, I've been wanting to find a new turboprop with a little bit more character... That's when the Moo caught my eye. And WOW! My first flight took a little while in getting to grips with how much of a handful she can be with each power setting (trim trim trim!), but even after just a few flights, I'm already getting my head around it and it's been just a joy to fly so far. I am also closing in on that perfect butter landing... I think my best so far has been in the -140ish FPM territory, but we'll get there. Anyway, that's all to say that you've got a magnificent product here and I'm a very satisfied customer. The provided documentation has also been very helpful too - big kudos on that! I do have a question that maybe someone has the answer to: while admiring the 3D model, I've noticed that the engine air intakes seem to be a bit bigger than most Mu-2's I've seen in pictures... Is this because of a different engine variant on our sim version? All the best and thank you for such a fine product, - Cactus

  5. Perfect - thank you! I don't know GIMP at all so there's a lot of very unfamiliar stuff, and I don't know the DDS format either - what could possibly go wrong! Currently tootling along through the Atlas Mountains, Morocco... lovely day for it!

  10. I'm honestly not sure, it's been too long since I was last using the plane in 11, I'm sorry to admit. I'm sure that would be greatly appreciated by the sim hardware-loving community. Quite the undertaking, but it'll be worth it. Another one to add to your list for consideration... sim/annunciator/clear_master_caution. Cheers!

  11. and TBH....this UI with the cockpit is over 10 years old. There are a lot of things I want to redo for more "natural immersion"...so usability will get its turn soon. -TK

  15. Hi, I was on an idle descent on VPATH at -1300 fps and 213 knots (see screenshot). Spoilers down to full did not have any effect of reducing the speed so far. Tried this several times on other VNAV PATH descrents an always no effect. Had to bring down the gear and Flaps 2 to reduce the speed. for me it seems there is some tuning necessery. Thanks

  19. Thanks! Some time in the future yes, but first I have to finish my job on DC3, then update both DC3 and C23 to XP12 standards, and then I hope to find some time for Avanti. I have tested in XP12, there are a few issues need solving to be fully operational. (Images are from early alpha versions)

  22. First off.. wow! This is the most mind-blown I've ever been in 25+ years of flight simulation. Hands down.. outstanding work! I noticed the ground services status page has "Tow" status. Is this simply for Better Pushback integration or am I missing something? I really miss the JAR Tug Master utility for XP10. Is there any chance of implementing a custom "tow" module to be able to manually move the aircraft?

  23. Captains, In just less than 7 hours from the time I write this the TBM will be released (Midnight EST)! Today we are going to discuss rain effects, and as usual more can be seen in action on today's final livestream happening at 6:30pm EST (2230 Zulu). You can watch the livestream by clicking here! (Previously Recorded) Now, let's talk about precipitation! Although we often wish for it, not every flying day is sunny. Whether it's just a light shower, or a full blown thunderstorm, we have paid particular attention to make sure your simming experience will always be an immersive one. To that end, we have taken the "let's make it physically accurate" approach to rain simulation. So how does it work? The entire explanation is several thousand lines of C and OpenGL shader code long, but in short, it works roughly like this: 1) The rain simulation gets precipitation intensity from X-Plane 2) Based on the intensity it randomly generates where drops on the windshield have fallen (taking into account a host of factors such as window slant) 3) We computes forces on every portion of the windshield, such as acceleration, propeller thrust and wind velocity 4) We move the water around on the windshield, allow for things such as droplets to merge, evaporate and just roll around 5) Based on the depth of water at each point, we refract the light coming at you from the outside world, giving the illusion of looking through water droplets And the best part: it's all done on the GPU. GPUs are unbelievably scalable computational systems and can do this kind of simulation with relative ease. So we can get amazing behavior, such as the droplets being blown away by propeller blast with very little FPS cost (although the exact FPS impact will depend on the speed of your GPU): But be careful when flying in heavy precipitation. While on approach, the propeller blast and the aircraft's motion through the air breaks most of the droplets apart and helps clear the windshield: But slow down with little propeller thrust and the windshield can become absolutely innundated if the downpour is strong enough: And why we were simulating water flow, why not incorporate windshield temperature into the calculation as well and display ice as well? To deice the windshield in this case, in the TBM you have a choice of two systems (which can even be combined for maximum effect). There is the good old electrical heater. Powerful, but draws a lot of power, so the manufacturer has limited it to a small portion of the windshield: Or you can try to use hot bleed air used to heat the cabin. Simply redirect it to the windshield defrost vents and watch the ice melt away. But as you can imagine, both of these systems have their capacity limits. So don't expect to always have a clear windshield as if nothing was happening outside. We've set up the simulation to be as realistic as possible training a heathy respect for the weather and learning the limitations of the aircraft. We'll see you in the livestream linked at the top of this page, and more importantly, for the release that's only hours away!

  24. After the recent update, I notice the following issues. I don't know if this is the right page. I have not found a link to inform technical support. If anyone knows him, thank you very much in advance. 1 - AC indicator AMPS Ranges between values of 50 and 90. Then it stabilized at 90 2 - I have doubts about these values: N1 with engines off does not show a value of ZERO. EGT with engines off shows a value of 30 3 - CONT CABIN and PASS CABIN The indicators indicate COLD. When the WARM position is activated, there is no change in temperature. 4 - FF during flight The FF indicator does not show any value for the integer digit and shows the wrong value for the decimal digits. 5 - FF at idle The FF indicator shows a value of ZERO when the aircraft is at idle engines. 6 -N1 and EGT with engines off With engines off and only battery and shore power on, N1 and EGT show values greater than ZERO.
