Some good people on another forum helped fill in the context of why / when / how on the product and why it was released beta only. Apparently, 11.50 full release isn't far around the corner now, and some of the technologies that take advantage of the improvements 11.50 brings could not be practically made for current version. I can confidently go buy it now (and many others could have as well, if not having to ask).3 points

Check Section 5-8 in the manual. I'm not sure if they cut this directly from the real manual or if it's what it maps to in simulation. But so far those values have been flawless for me. The simulation is really good with this plane, I've seen it do things you don't see often in GA Xplane that's for sure.2 points

Some of these things will likely go away with the next Gizmo release.2 points

It works! Also looks like some attention was given to the fuel selector, as it's much easier to manipulate. Thanks so much. Flying VR in this plane is fantastic.2 points

Thanks for the feedback, We have identified the cause and we our implementing the fix currently! We will get the 1.0.1 update with this out ASAP With the custom engine model, there are quite a few edge cases we are finding. 1.0.1 will have our first (of as many as it needs) iterations improving behaviors. We will still be optimizing the mesh, and we plan on offering a 2K texture pack once the paint kit is ready. We are adding an FS Economy override. This will either be in 1.0.1 or the following update (the CTD bug is our priority, so we will push that update as soon as it is ready) There is certainly a lot more to come with the SR222 points

You can use it by popping it out (Click the Garmin screen) and clicking through the options. I was using it on 11.41 without issues but I've moved over to 11.50 B16 now.2 points

This is in the works - barring any undiscovered showstoppers it will be in the next upate. Cheers, Jan1 point

We are looking into this; there is a good chance this is the result of something with the same issue causing the CTD issue, which will be fixed ASAP (issue has been identified, fix is being implemented).1 point

FYI Though I've put the cover on my 22, I'm not sorry I purchased this plane. I'm confident it will be a fine addition to my fleet eventually. Just for the record, here are the reasons I have mine parked: 1. CDT 2. Ridiculous startup. Mine even died while taxiing to the runway; well over 1000 rpm, plenty of gas, everything in the green. I never got it to start back up. Ended up having to reload. 3. Pitiful frame rates. About the same as the HMB. Disappointed in that. 4. Does not work right with FSEconomy. I have to play tricks with the fuel load else I get "Refueling in flight, cancelling" Since I have gone back to the HMB, after flying the G3, I realize how inferior the HMB plane is to the G3. I think patience is the proper response to all this. It doesn't take much to see the effort put into this project and I really hate to say bad things about it. I have no regrets. I will wait this out. I'm sure things will get worked out. I for one (and I hope I'm not alone on this) am glad this plane targets 11.50 as that is the future of X-Plane and I would have hesitated to buy it if it had been targeted for 11.41. Thank you very much guys! This is going to be a fantastic aircraft!1 point

Looking at the perf tables at 170+ 59% @ 13.9GPH is the max perf setting. Sounds like you might have fouled the plugs? That would cause the temps to go to 0 but the engine continuing to run. It doesn't show 85% being used for cruise past 6000-8000 feet. Normally at 200+ I'm running 50-55% power 2500rpm @ 12.5 - 13 GPH.1 point

It's a know bug they are fixing. The immediate thing you can do to recover functionality is on the GCU hold the "CLR" button for about 3 seconds.1 point

Thanks qazme. Yes, I know about the workaround. I was just pointing out the bug.1 point

Yes it does. I can hear it but like the Inertial sep I have to have my volume up a fair bit to notice them.1 point

The fix to the FSE refuel issue happens with other planes too. If you set your fuel load 5 gallons less than you purchase in FSE it doesn't give you the warning. It would be nice however to be able to fully utilize 80 gallons. So the fix coming would be terrific!1 point

My mistake, I was assuming the door wasn't closed because you can see the paint of the door from the inside (on the lower leading edges). However, after viewing the aircraft from the outside, the door is closed.1 point

Life is not fair! LOL Nobody is forcing anyone to buy this product. All of us who bought didit willingly and fairly!1 point

Bingo Coop, that did the trick. Let all know that cures the starter (key switch) issues. Fires right up and holds in place where needed. Thank you guy, greatly appreciate you all's response to these VR issues. I know we are kind of the minority here but you all come through flying high..1 point

In X-Plane 11.50, Laminar Research added GCU functionality (the keypad and knobs to control the G1000, as in the SR22). These commands only exist in X-Plane 11.50 so that is why we say X-Plane 11 only. (Note, the rest of the aircraft still functions in 11.41, it is only the GCU that doesn't work in 11.41). The aircraft works just fine in either Metal/Vulcan mode or OpenGL mode in X-Plane as well. Nobody is under any obligation to purchase the SR22.1 point

If you go into the X-Plane Settings -> Keyboard page, search G5 for commands and there are commands for Toggle G5 A and Toggle G5 B. Bind these to a key on your keyboard and then those will popup as in-sim popups instead of external window popups.1 point

Edited with update information: I was a little miffed that the SR22 was released for 11.50 Beta only; a full product release on a testing platform rather than stable didn't make sense to me, as that implies the SR22 is also a Beta. Taking away access to a good majority of simmers who work on a stable release wasn't encouraging to me. However, some good folks here and on Facebook helped clarify the situation with this project, and the pending release of 11.50 stable provided the necessary context to understand what was going on. That being said, the developer could save some grief and offer transparency on their sales page explaining the situation. That can only raise confidence in the buyers, and guarantee sales now or down the road. Every plane sold counts, and you guys need them all. Thanks.-1 points
