It´s time to give a big compliment for Jan´s PDF and Video tutorials which comes with this plane. After my first spontaneous flights, I flew the Tutorials step by step and learned in every flight more and more about the "hidden" features of this plane and the spirit of flying the classic B737. Forget the FMC and the LNAV-VNAV-Autoland flights. I think, it was much time invested in these tutorials but I hope, there comes more. Danke Jan. Chimo4 points

Received this email today from Tanguy. Awesome photo, so I thought I'd share it (with permission) I'm a B737 pilot with more than 1500h on B737/300/400/500W and wanna congrat IXEG for the amazing product you created. Im Very impresed with the fidelity. Still some minor bugs and fix but its awesome. Attached is a pic for you guys. Kind Regards! Tanguy3 points

As someone who's lived on the PMDG side of the fence for awhile the FMC errors are something I haven't seen before, but as an amateur programmer, I know where they come from and that's the mass mystery of "users". You think you do something solid and good in one section, only to find out that once it's in the wild, it wasn't as solid as you hoped. Overall, the FMC has been fine for me, until I start yanking it around, like changing approaches and STARs in flight, stacking commands before hitting "activate" and "execute" and other allowable but not normal things to do. Overall, $75 user for a clone of the Smith FMC is not what I expected nor what I received. Here's what I got: * A 3D cockpit that's beautiful to look at AND easy of the FPS * A sound set worth a price of it's own. I mean, a show of hands here - who else leaves the windows open during start and taxi just to listen to engines? * A flight model second to none - maybe the FJS 732 - but wow, what a fun plane to fly on vectors to final in crosswind! * An FMC that can get me from point A to B in most cases out of the box, with demonstrated commitment to improvements * An engaged dev team that is genuine in their concern and enthusiasm, not walled off in a castle on a mountain top Not only will I continue to buy from IXEG and X-Aviation, I'm looking forward to giving them more money for even more Boeing content... $75 = $30 for the base plane, $30 for the FMC and $15 for the sound set. When you think of it that way, isn't this a bargain?3 points

AeroMexico Classic fictional livery Aeromexico never used the classic 737, only the NG. I would like to thank Mateo Peo from MB Liveries and Niilo Mrikalla for their invaluable help and contribution. Simply drop in the liveries folder and enjoy If you like it please rate, and if you MUST use part of this livery for your own work, please give credit where it belongs.2 points -

That's normal. The only way out of APP mode below 1500 feet radio is cycling BOTH Flight Directors, i.e., both FDs to off and then back to on. That or hitting the TOGA buttons on the thrust levers to start a automatic Go-Around. As a side-note: A Dual Channel ILS approach below 1500 feet is a very "unique" autoflight system situation. The rudder pedals will be backdriven, for example, so the pilot feels what the AP is doing to the rudder. Usually the rudder pedals are not backdriven. Of course you can also get rid of all automation, take over and hand-fly the visual procedure into runway 08. More fun!2 points

Flicker on the slave's throttle is fixed. If you start cold and dark, don't use the GPU (APU is ok). I miss a couple of datarefs..For the slave, the GPU appear, but, the avallable annunciator stay dark. Nothing i can do without a help of the devs. smartcopilot.zip2 points

Had it happen once before, however, I don't have photo scenery or IXEG 737. I just sent the crash info to x-plane when it requested it and rebooted. Such is the nature of computers! Work great one day, the next?...who knows!2 points

For reference. Battlefield 4 bugs forum; 798 index pages and growing. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/forum/view/2955064762159285271/ These guys have thousands of people, hundreds of millions of dollars budget, entire buildings full of talent all working in one place together to bring you products that are still full of stupid annoying bugs. We are a small team of about six people spread all over the world working in our spare time and up until release we were entirely self funded. Thanks to those with the patience and vision to support us in what we're trying to do.2 points

Not really. See the first comment in the video by Jan. Anything further would be potentially included in the "not in 1.0" list, which is freely accessible in these forums (I have not watched this video in full). I also notice they are running 1.0.0 and not 1.0.1 Judging by the comments I've read by the guy behind this video, I'd say he's extremely pleased with the product. This was a comment he just made elsewhere: "I love it. So much so I've chucked away 3 days of editing the 777 Cadet Course (which you know, pays the bills) to get Jonny in, do a flight and then edit it all up. And not even a crappy fast edit but with many of the bells and whistles of Airline2Sim full fat course! I've got some suggestions that would make it easier to use, but I'll save those for the forum..." That said, I'm interested by your word of "our." I cannot seem to find a purchase record for you, or a matching activation. Could you please provide your order number? I also note you have signed up with a fake e-mail account. I have a hunch as to who you are, and the troll vibe is strong in this one based on your only three posts here.2 points

First of all I find myself in a position where I must retract on certain posts . Just had time to look at the web page selling the ixeg 737 and i notice that it mentions down near the bottom of the page that manuals and tutorials are included in documentation --- call me old fashioned but i would be looking for these under " manuals " and or " tutorials " ------ i have spent most of my time since I converted to X Plane flying the 172 VFR --- I used to fly jets IFR when I was using FS98 and FS X --- in FS 98 ( may be wrong with the edition number it`s son long ago ) we had something like EFASS and Plan G and you could fly the flight plan including SIDS and STARS using the AP and it was something I got used to --- but in X Plane it was different and I did venture into IFR in X Plane on VATSIM and I found myself floundering and with not enough time to enter a new learning curve and never enough time to fly the hours that I used to fly -- so -- I went back to VFR and the 172 and mostly on VATSIM I was flying circuits . The ixeg 737 has come along at just the right time for me --i have a little bit more time now to relearn ----- and now i have the need for manuals and tutorials whereas I didn`t before --- let me say that the ixeg 737 is absolutely stunning in every way possible --- and I am hoping that the patch has fixed most of the teething problems although I am reluctant to download and apply because of my experiences last week . I hope that they can sell 25,000 copies which is $ 1,875,000 --- that would really put them in business and god knows what they could do then ----- don`t know --- is 25,000 overstretched --- they do deserve to sell that number because it is easily one of the best FS AC ever produced ! FMC --- I didn`t realize that you have to use the slash key to enter the OAT ie \ 55 --- but i understand that you don`t have to use the + or - key so i don`t know how the FMC knows whether the OAT is plus or minus . I couldn`t confirm the v speeds --- and then I did something which enabled me to do so --- don`t know what it was that I had not entered ---- probably an incorrect wieght or something -- will persevere with this and report back when I know what I did wrong . Route --- was entering egcc to egll --- unable to enter HON so had to miss that fix off ---- will try to find out where I went wrong with that one and report back if I find out what was wrong . There are some very very good videos on YOUTUBE now ----- there was one by Osamah Alabdullah ---- I think he was flying out of a german airport ( think it was Munich ) and much of his flight was at night ----- he was asked on YOUTUBE what the scenery was but answered he would post another video about scenery next week --- does anyone know what the scenery was because it was stunning ? I am still annoyed about being charged for the Mike Ray Download Manual --- I would have eagerly paid more for a hard copy if they had refunded but to buy a hard copy now will mean that I have paid far too much --- even if they had charged me for an upgrade it would have been ok --- anyway -- I will think twice before I buy form them again . This is what I have done --- I opened up the tutorials and copied without the pictures manually to save printer ink and paper and printed on something like half the pages ---- could I help by posting these pages or would that be infringeing copyright ? What I may do is to issue a tutorial in list form like i did before by using Mike Rays tutorials --- they are on the org site somewhere . It will be a quick guide with a sample route . I must spend more time learning how to enter fuel etc etc --- I think i have got the route thing sorted --- oh yes ---- how do you enter a hold in the FMC if asked by ATC to hold when for instance you are near your destination . Saw a video yesterday --- a TBM being flown to airport in Florida for an annual check and some ---- and I sat there thinking how much I miss RW flying --- so --- thank god for X Plane and the ixeg 737 --- well worth the 6 years wait ---- HATS OFF TO IXEG AND THE TEAM ---- Jans tutorials are excellent although a closer view of the FMS would have been helpful when entering information !1 point

As a previous user of FSX and PMDG, i can totally say that X-plane is way better then FSX. What it was missing was a PMDG level aircraft. And this plane certainly fills that missing part. Sure it still has a few bugs. But taken account what i have experienced so far, it is a well 75 dollars spent. Watching the development stages since the last 2 years and the devotion i saw from the developers, it is magnificent. I will keep supporting IXEG for what they are trying to achieve for the simulation community. And I am pretty sure that they will eventually solve these little bugs, which are in fact small problems with FMC. Since the last 1.02 update i only have issues with pressurisation problems at cruise altitude and when you switch to standby mode it is all cleared. (don't forget to push horn cut out though) Thank you for this lovely aircraft. I respect for all your efforts and dedication to make something more beautiful. Keep up the lovely work.1 point

Or I can do a video of a crappy landing, and you just do everything completely different.1 point

Team, Strange issue I noticed tonight while flying in some more inclement r/w weather - the lightning creates this issue with graphics in the cockpit. Have tried with all light settings, including as shown in the video with storm and domes lit.1 point

Yep, it does have something to do with it... just disabled HDR and all was well.1 point

Thanks for the log - I will forward it to someone who can read that cryptic stuff ;-) Jan1 point

Tried to reproduce, but lightning works fine with the default X-Plane weather. Can´t fix until we get more info.. Jan1 point

China Eastern old livery (B-2699) for IXEG 737C View File This is the old livery of China Eastern Airlines for the great IXEG 737C. China Eastern, one of the three key airlines in China, still operate 5 737-300 in real life, all of which belong to Wuhan Branch of CES, mainly operating short-haul flights inside China. Unfortunately these 733s will not have the new livery of CES introduced in late 2014, so they are still wearing the old "tri-colour" livery with the old logo. Installation: Simply unzip the folder to the "liveries" folder inside your IXEG 737C main folder and enjoy. Known bug: Due to the wing file unable to have different signs on different wings, the Chinese figures as well as registration numbers on both wings in real life cannot be achieved. Looking forward to your comment and feedback. Thank you. Hmm, strange - can you tell me what kind of plugins you are running? Do you have add-ons, that change artwork settings (like Real Terra Haze)? Can you try without any plugins other than Gizmo (don´t forget to reboot X-Plane!) and report back? Thanks, Jan1 point

Thanks for the free vid A2S, I liked it. Who wants a dry video of someone reciting checklists that you can get out of some POH. At that point you're better off just getting the manual. Different people have different learning styles and I appreciate the way you guys present. Most airlines have slightly different procedures and equipment so nothing is as cut and dry as that detractor would have you believe. Their vids cost about as much as a pizza, if you're spending 75 bucks on a virtual aircraft why not get a video or two to learn how to fly it and get some enjoyment from it?1 point

Hi Peter, the ability to save them was removed, but you can certainly load them. You can make them with a simple text editor, or dedicated output software. I think its explained in the docs. Jan1 point

So i had some time for a short hop from KSNA to KCRQ today, following the procedures more or less correctly from and to cold & dark. I used a simple route following the TEC route (V25 PACIF V208 OCN) and set up the ILS 24, OCN transition. Luckily, I didn't experience any bug and just had a smooth flight. What I can already say is that I haven't felt the same level of realism and immersion since the Majestic Dash in FSX/P3D. Not even the PMDG NGX can achieve this in my opinion. While it may be the best simulation of an NG that one can have in a home sim, it always felt kind of sterile and too artifical for me. The IXEG does really feel alive. I disconnected the autopilot at 1000ft AGL and it was one of the most realsitic feeling landings I have experienced in any sim. Geiles Teil!1 point

We're trying. And we're actually converting the FSX/P3D masses... (according to the rest of the internet...) Anyone that thinks they can do it better is welcome to do so, plenty have already tried. Thanks again to everyone making constructive efforts to track down the bugs.1 point

Ben, Keep it up. Without your videos, I'd still be groping around in the dark with The Mighty Dash. (Not that groping around in the dark isn't fun--as long as it's with real cabin crew, not fake flight decks) Best, Marshall1 point

No problem friend, different strokes for different folks. We spent 3 days making this. Our 777 Cadet Training Program will take two people three months to make, with 22 videos in total. All for the cost of a couple of pizzas from Dominos. This was Jonny - a friend of mine - coming round for an informal, off the cuff flyabout in the 737, which we pushed out totally for free. It was never intended that anyone would pay for it. Yeh it's kitchsy, but it's fun. People like it, the views have gone off the scale and I've had dozens of emails from folk saying how much they learned from it and more importantly from die-hard P3D users asking how to get into X-Plane. But when your 2 hour long, fully procedural, serious, totally professional, in-depth training video flights with your 737 pilot friend go up on Youtube do let us know, so we can let you know what we think.1 point
