  1. Ah, thank you for the beautiful pictures - they bring back fond memories of flying the Classic for 12 years! The NG is supposed to fly fairly similar to the Classic (although most variants are a bit heavier), I am sure you will enjoy it!! I assume the difference might be like the one between 747-400 and 747-8 (the ones I fly now), they are subtle but noticeable nonetheless. Good luck and success with your type rating, all the best, Jan

  4. Hoped there would be a secrete option But I read some things in this forum and I understand the cancelation of XP11 support. Only then the upgrade policy makes sense. So, perhaps we see us in the future.

  5. Hello, I'd like to join the question. I have both X-Plane 11 and X-Plane 12 installed. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing fluctuating performance in XP12. Toliss runs great, but Felis not so much. With the IXEG 737, I'm worried I might encounter similar issues in XP12. Does the purchased version work in XP11 or not at all? If so, I'll just stick to flying in the old sim and wait for XP12 to hopefully run better with future updates. Best regards, Timo

  6. Hi everyone. I’m doing the 737NG type and had the opportunity to know the 737 300/400/500 pilot training device. It’s loyally beautiful. An authentic legendary classic. Pity not to have the opportunity to fly in the real. I share here with you my emotion and satisfaction. Thanks IXEG for the experience. IMG_1873.mov IMG_1870.mov

  8. The bulk of that time was spent on the CL650 update, as there was quite a bit to take care of. As there's only 2 of us, we have to prioritize the work according to various factors. Is there an ETA? Not one that we can safely stick to. We loosely planned to push out the last update for the CL650 within 2 years of release. That deadline passed 3 months ago. We're putting in the hours to get both the TBM and CL650 done as soon as we can, as we want to move on to the next project. All I ca n promise is we aren't going anywhere, and we're working to get everything done.

  9. They are. But we may also not be able to fix it without modification to the plane. In the meantime my script linked above does the job.

  10. I experienced a crash, so I looked at the forum to find many such instances involving the DRT. I removed it and sure enough, no crash. Poking through the log, I found the following line: 2024-03-15 11:04:29 CL650[dr.c:553]: assertion "dr->value != ((void*)0)" failed: CL650/glass/heat_on So I added that dataref to Resources/plugins/drt_ignore.txt. Sure enough, no more crash on load and DRT works with the CL650. According to DRT FAQ, that could point to some bug in CL650: FAQ: Using DRT causes X-Plane to crash DRT reads every dataref published by every aircraft and plugin, on every frame of the simulation. Sometimes, they haven't fully been debugged, and may crash. (If you're a developer, the best way to do this is to run X-Plane in a debugger and look at the backtrace of the crash- if you see RefRecords::update() in the backtrace, this is likely what happened.) In any case, I find DRT is much more useful than the official Data Ref Editor, so I'm happy to be able to use it now.
    1 point
  11. No - sorry I was not clear. I meant I had to rename the DRT folder in the plugins folder from DataRefTool_v2.4.1 (as downloaded) to DataRefTool in addition to the setting up drt_ignore.txt with the entries below. Not doing so would make x-plane crash straightaway, irrespective of the plane.

  13. Laminar is doing some major upgrades to xplane for next release, no developer is silly enough to do a major release until it has gone Beta and being tested by a lot of very picky consumers. I should add, "some very Vocal", consumers.

  14. Then I'll also add something - I'm so free I understand both sides. Although I started simming with FS5 and A320 on the Amiga, it wasn't until FS 2004 and FSX that I really got into it. As life goes, there are phases where you don't have time to spend leisure time at the computer. Then, years later, you regain some free time and come back to the hobby... in that time, I found FSX replaced by Prepar3d and MSFS 2020, and X-Plane 11 was already replaced by the release of XP12. Emotionally, though, I was still attached to all the FSX addons and had to realize with "consternation" that I couldn't catch up on all the addons I wanted to. PMDG? FSX products gone. At first, I thought the same thing: Why? Just keep selling it and don't worry about it. But would that be okay? Would I spend $90 on an addon and have problems installing it or entering the key... but expect no support? To make it short: Development has also allowed me to discover addons that I would never have experienced otherwise. I spent some time with MSFS, but now I'm full-time (meaning the full time of sparse leisure time) in X-Plane. I would like to be more in XP12, but XP11 is currently running better. Hoping for 12.1 and further updates... but without the "forced" perspective change away from FSX, I wouldn't have discovered all the addons that I get to experience today. Yes, I'm still somewhat behind and want to treat myself to the Challenger next month (also because it still runs in XP11), but I am now firmly convinced that I will also experience the IXEG in XP12. Unfortunately, not today or tomorrow, but maybe in a year. It's a hobby that should be fun for us, and developers have to figure out how to best manage economically... hey, no question. I still come and feel that we are not customers in the classical sense. On the "other side" sit enthusiasts who program something for our community (which I will never understand how it works) and we have the opportunity to live with these addons this hobby virtually and still all be in the midst of a community where we have direct contact with each other. From this perspective, I pay for the time, work, ideas, and sweat with my purchase price, but unlike when I buy a car or whatever, I don't expect to be treated like a king. Most developers of addons of the quality of IXEG have such high standards for themselves and their work that you don't need to step on their toes when there are problems. But as individuals, we must accept that our own interests and perspectives cannot be the sole measure. Even if it's personally disappointing, if it's better for the greater good, then so be it.

  15. Think? I know. I deal with customers daily. It's my job. It's not a statement about one's intelligence. It's about the common occurrence of NOT reading. 50 products is more than a few. My data is a lot more relevant and true than anything you'll get your hands on. That's about all I can say to that. I'm sorry you're displeased, but I've been doing this (selling products) for 16 years. I don't care to be right, I'm just stating the facts as they are. I hope you find products that make you happy, and while I find your future purchasing decisions a bit odd, that's your choice and I respect it. Happy flying!

  16. Lol good point. I believe you but I did a survey a couple months ago (from a popular flight sim website) asking me which simulators I use most and after I finished the survey it showed me the results which actually showed many more X-Plane users are using still using X-Plane 11 version 11.55 over X-Plane 12. Another strange result that surpised me is that some X-Plane users are still using an outdated version of X-Plane 11 (version 11.30 I believe but I could be wrong) for some reason. I am not asking for continued support and updates for XP11 add-ons. As I said before, I would be happy to buy the XP11 version of the IXEG 737 as is with no developer support or new updates. All I'm asking is that they make it available for sale, I don't think that's asking too much and it will in no way hurt development of current products.

  19. It appears that you are not signed into your X-Aviation account in Gizmo, so the G5s aren't activating. Sometimes the sign in window doesn't appear on X-Plane monitor when it is positioned at a negative display coordinate, as shown here. Temporarily open X-Plane in windowed mode instead of full screen and then the sign in dialog should show up.

  20. What kind of complexities would make it so difficult to keep the XP11 version available for sale on the website? That doesn't make sense to me. I don't know a lot about hosting a site that sells downloadable products, but it can't be that difficult to leave it up on the store for people to buy and download. I mean, there's nothing else you really have to do (as far as I know) except keep it available in the store than just let it sit there for sale (with a "no longer supported" disclaimer) and keep the "master" copy of the aircraft on the site (or wherever you keep your downloads) available for people to download it. What else do you have to do that wasn't already done really? There's an FSX/P3D aircraft developer that was named Milviz (now called Blackbird Simulations), they made a lot of high quality payware. About a year ago, they decided to drop out of the FSX/P3D market and focus on MSFS and then they did something very awesome for the FSX/P3D community (yes, they still exist), they re-released all 25 of there FSX/P3D aircraft as freeware and made them all available for anyone to download on their own website which they host themselves: Blackbird Simulations - Freebies (blackbirdsims.com) If they can make 25 legacy aircraft available for download for free on their site, why can't you just keep one single legacy XP11 aircraft available (for sale)? Can it be that difficult to do? As for still wanting to use XP11, I am certainly not unwilling to deal with XP12 because I own it already, I just don't use it much rn. Though it is an improvement over XP11, It's not nearly as impressive as I had hoped it would be and not much better than my heavily modified version of XP11, most of the time I find myself firing up XP11 instead. Also XP12 is barely even out of beta now. For XP11 I have many aircraft that are not and likely will not be updated for XP12 that I still enjoy flying, I have my Orbx TE scenery (most of which is not yet XP12 compatible) and loads of other types of scenery as well as many other kinds of add-ons, in fact, I have XP11 looking nearly as good as XP12 does and in some ways even better looking. I'm not going to give up XP11 and the several hundred dollars' worth of add-ons I own that goes with it just to use XP12 which has very limited amount of content compared to XP11 rn and it will likely take a very long time for developers to do their thing and make old add-ons fully compatible (many converted XP11 to XP12 aircraft and other add-ons still have plenty of bugs & other issues to work out as well as the newly released content) as well as make more new add-ons. There's still a lot of upsides to still using XP11 for me. It is going to be a very, very long time before I switch to using XP12 on a regular basis, probably at least a few years or so, in fact I'm thinking about uninstalling it because I use it so little and it's taking up so much storage just sitting there. I'm not buying the IXEG 737 if I can only get it for XP12, it's not worth it to me. I'm also not going to buy the new LES DC3 for the same reasons.

  30. I see the same symptom in v1.7 that @bpcw0001 describes, and I can validate that as Pils states it is no longer an issue in the v1.8 beta.

  31. It's not the wind, it's X-Plane 12 itself. Austin introduced a bug that causes the whole aircraft to jiggle around every so slightly on the wheels and this perturbs the camera. We are still waiting for a permanent fix, however it's worked around in the V1.8 beta.

  32. Wait... I was able to reproduce it and looking into this.

  33. Yes, we will be integrating this into the G500 ourselves (we build our own builds of OpenGPWS that we deploy with our products, but that is mostly a technicality). In the interim, replacing the current OpenGPWS with the one provided here should handle what you need. We don't touch the DSFs ourselves in any of our products so the bug here should be contained exclusively within OpenGPWS.

And the video does not show "a cargo version", but rather the "cargo hold" for a passenger version. Different things. I'm sure you're quite right Pils...and we'll keep that on our 'nice to have' list to be looked at in the future. Its mostly a space issue atm, given that its integrated into the "main GUI window". So just a matter of redesign and working it in at some point. -tk

The problem was indeed what @skiselkov diagnosed: having the GND SPOILERS set at AUTO instead of ARM did the trick. Thank you very much guys for taking the time to troubleshoot my issue, and pointing me in the right direction. You have no idea how much I appreciate! Have a great day!

  44. In a long conversation with BBA yesterday we learned that BBA advises to equalize left and right mains BEFORE departure using the L (usually) to AUX pumps, even if the difference is lower that the limit of 400 lbs. This in order to avoid CAS fuel imbalance messages after departure which could be triggered by banking and 'sloshing' in the tanks

  47. Unlike other aircraft types in the Collins auto flight system VNAV is a modifier on the standard vertical modes (VS, FLC, etc.). It basically instructs the system to respect altitude constraints in the flight plan, and if enabled, use speed targets from the FMS. When descending in VPATH on an arrival and initial approach, similar to an ILS, once the plane is flying towards the final approach point for the RNAV/RNP then one can push the APPR button and VGP will arm/capture. Once active the plane will descend on the final glide path below the preselected altitude. Hope that helps.
