Yeah, don´t get me wrong, I also want the FMS to be able to do programmable holds - it just wasn´t possible to get that done for 1.1. The dev-time we got on FMS was devoted to fixing what is already there and to make things more stable. The holds are definitely up very high on the to-do-list and will most certainly be done for the next patch (after the XP11 compatibility patch). For now, here is how you can do "manual" holds without too much of a hassle: Use the FIX page to enter the relevant fix. Add the inbound course as a radial. You can also use enter a distance to give you a cue when to turn back in (1 min outbound at holding speed is roughly 5NM). Now use HDG SEL to fly the hold you manually drew onto the EHSI map. No need for timing, WCA calculation, etc.It won´t be as precise as a computed hold in LNAV, but this will certainly keep you in the holding area and the controllers off your back... Note that the radials shown on the FIX page will be correct for 1.1, there was an error (magnetic variation) before. Cheers, Jan5 points

I'm going to add an option later today; [x] Notify me when my Licenses is updated. Then we can bring this ridiculous discussion to an end. If this is the only complaint you have with such a complicated overhaul I'm very happy.3 points

Captains, Within the next 48 hours v1.1 of the IXEG 737 Classic will hit the store and be sent out free of charge to all current customers of the IXEG 737 Classic! We know this has been a long awaited release, and we're really looking forward to getting it into your hands! It's been a long road, but we're now confident with a lot of the work that has taken place over the last year that we can get back to making more frequent updates again on this product. Most importantly, here's what to expect in the update: Added TCAS. Just like in the real airplane, it will show various types of traffic (PROX, TA, RA) and the relative altitude, plus voice callouts and visual aids to avoiding RA traffic. The panel should work as the real one, including TA only, ABV/BLW, STBY, etc. Improved EGPWS. This is enhanced over 1.0.7 - the modes (1-5) should work a lot more closely to how the real modes work, including submodes (i.e. 4A, 4B). There is also a terrain-look-ahead feature that will alert when approaching terrain higher than the aircraft. New panel, new switches, new TERRAIN ON light. New INOP label for FO´s terrain display. Opening cargo doors with door annunciators and 3D cargo holds modeled. Eyebrow windows including selectable sunshade panels (select in preferences menu) Opening cockpit door Now showing current active waypoint distance and ETA on EHSI upper corners in MAP and CTR MAP mode Added increase/decrease map range datarefs A multitude of fixes to FMS stability and LNAV drawing and performance Several texture fixes INOP label for the logo lights if winglets fitted Autopilot fixes (autothrust gain, logic of MA buttons, GS arm logic, cleanup of FMA modes in some circumstances, FL CHG pitch behaviour in MACH regime with turbulence) Several rare gizmo crashes fixed for switches and levers Fixes to headings and bearings shown on FIX INFO and LEGS page (now show correct magnetic tracks) Ground power not showing anymore when booting in turnaround state Fixes to default transition altitude not always showing correctly (still just a crude east/west division) Added realistic way to operate approach speeds on APPROACH page Added failure flag to altimeter when not electrically powered Improved EFIS symbology when IRS units not aligned Fuel gauges now show "lbs" when imperial units are selected LNAV tracking accuracy improved (no more offset flying) Ground model "Ninja fix" when using airplane with XP11 (no full XP11 compatibility yet) Solved numerous situations that would cause the FMS to produce soft crashes in the Gizmo console The aircraft may work in X-Plane11, but we do not officially support it and it may not be truly accurate numbers as you would find flight model wise in X-Plane 10. This is just enough to get by and allow your enjoyment in XP 11. Separate XP11 update will be released at a later point. As is always the case, we thank you so very much for being a customer, and for hanging in there with us during this time period. We are confident you will really enjoy this new update!2 points

X-Plane controls the reflected sun on water. What you're seeing is our sun model based on the closest year in time to which Laminar uses for their reflections (about 2014). Every now and again you'll likely find a quirk like this.1 point

Gentlemens, I draw a IXEG 737-300 layout diagram using a lot of screen captures of our beloved aircraft in order to build flows of all phases of flight. Thanks to Litjan and to the person who made IXEG733 cockpit layout for giving me autorisation to use it in my 733 flows document. If you wish, it is now yours for free... seems all good to be, tried a flight in my area, default 737 all looked as expected, no probs with performance either.... great work...1 point
-
LOL, I know I shouldn't laugh at this, but I did. This random vision of a "pucker up" face came across my mind as you get instructions from ATC and pray at the same time.1 point
-
Fingers crossed on that one! I can deal with the other limitations knowing they'll be fixed in 1.2 or 1.3, but the nervousness of a soft crash while flying w/ online ATC and being asked to modify or switch a STAR was killing me.1 point
-
Don't worry, we have no plans of dropping the sky color selection feature. Some people are perfectly happy with X-Plane's default sky, and that's fine with us.1 point
-
Oh wow... are you serious? Upon closer look.. yes you're right. But really... it would never have noticed, in particular while in the cockpit. I think some compromises are neccessary for good performance...1 point

Everyone has different priorities, and we have tried to balance them in this update. Most of the time on v 1.1 was actually been spent on the FMC1 point
-
Undoubtedly! But, if I wanted to do all the hands, I would buy B727 with CIVA. The $ 75 model should be able to do what it is supposed to do. And to use HOLD in FMC or to twist hands is already my choice. It's a pity that the team has priority in the door / window, and not the FMC functionality, without which the 737CL is no longer 737 CL.1 point
-
I have done +350 flights online on VATSIM with this bird, so its not limited to fly offline only And it's just as easy to do manual holds as to programming the hold with the FMC.1 point
-
That's not really my point. The FMS should be able to handle pilot entered holds. I have payware aircraft almost half the cost that manage it just fine. With that said, I don't blame IXEG for this since I didn't read up before I bought this aircraft. All I knew was that this was supposed to best 737 for X-plane and I assumed holds were modelled, especially considering the price tag. Assumptions are the mother of all f*ckups as you know, but I would like IXEG to make this a priority for future updates.1 point
-
Not being able to enter holds should be a top priority in my book, especially since online ATC fairly frequently asks pilots to enter holding patterns when the skies are busy. Without it the aircraft is pretty much limited to offline flying only. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to getting the 1.1 update.1 point

The compability issue with vSpeed callouts for the IXEG 733 and XPRealistic Pro will be solved in the next version of XPRealistic Pro. So make sure to update that addon when the new version is released.1 point

Hot air. Lots of it. And blind like a bat too. You have lost so much perspective in life it seems, especially statistically. The "dwarfing" numbers is so infinitely dwarfed in comparison to our costumer base or even product orders. There will always be a few. You're one of them. This situation certainly wasn't challenging. Just challenged. A mouse click. A MOUSE CLICK! You're off the rocker, dude.1 point

There is no weather radar that currently can read xEnviro weather. They need to provide an API so weather radar can read the data.1 point
-
Ah, ok - the weather radar takes it´s cues from the X-Plane default weather (showing rain where there is rain), so there may be an incompatibility there. Not sure we can/will adress that, but will certainly take a look. Jan1 point

I'm going to add an option so people can turn off the notification. I hope to get it in the IXEG update release.1 point

Glad to hear v1.1 is finally going to be released. But I am a bit disappointing that there are not that many systems fixes. All this waiting and still no descent forecast, usable vnav, fuel predictions, or corrected engine egt readings.1 point
-
The system would not work without validation. It needs validation to make sure a revoked license really gets diabled, in this case after a maximum of two weeks. If this is not made sure the whole copy protection is completely useless. This is not implemented for telling you that you are valid. So I suggest setting it up so it pops up every two weeks for only bothering you when it really needs a new activation. The validation after each sim start is ment to reset the days counter as often as possible so you can use the product as long as possible when you are having connection problems or similar stuff happens that could prevent you from reactivating. In such a case it is better having two weeks until next check than having maybe only three days. And this is how the system serves you and not Cameron or X-Aviation.1 point

A few questions came up and I will try to clarify things a bit: In the default setup, gizmo will pop a little screen every time you start it up. It will ask you to refresh your license, so it loads you up with a full two weeks of "possible offline use". We do this so no one can say that "gizmo phones home behind my back without me ok ´ing it". If this bothers you, you can opt out of this "automatic refresh on startup" (go to the preferences box). Gizmo will then count down your two weeks silently, and ones it runs down, a window pops up and asks you to refresh your two weeks. This is exactly the same process that would happen every time you start up if you hadn´t opted out. The third option is to bring up the refresh box yourself and trigger it manually (if you opted out but plan on going on a trip without internet access, for example). Once your two week timer runs out, the box pops up - and you need to be online to refresh it. If you aren´t you can´t use the program until you are online and can validate again. This is exactly how X-Plane (digital version) does it, too. If there is strong demand to do ALL of this without bothering you (i.e. phone home to refresh silently), it may be possible to add an option for that to the preferences menu. Just let us know. Cheers, Jan1 point

In normal cases I install those runtimes manually from microsoft, but it could not find a download for the 2017 version. And I don't know where it comes from. The problem here ist the SMP installer quitting if it can't install the runtime so some files for silver lining are not copied. If you have the 2017 installer somewhere (maybe in a steam game in the redist folder) you should be able to reinstall it after the smp installer was succesfull. Also, the SMP installer brought me a newer version of vc 2015 than I had installed before, so regarding this version I should not get into troubles. If the 2017 version is needed by some apps, I have to find out where the installer is. Or does anybody know a link to an official vcredist 2017 download form Microsoft?1 point

I wish someone would release a generic pushback tool based on the FlyJSim "ghost plane" idea. It's absolute genius - it lets you see where the plane will end up after the pushback, and it lets you experience the push-back from the flight deck (more importantly, it lets you start the engines during the pushback). If it was too difficult to draw a silhouette of the actual plane, then a simple arrow showing the position and direction of the nose wheel would still do the job.1 point

And another one to wet your appetite. Work continues to get the patch out as soon as possible! Cheers, Jan1 point

Hi With this post, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all team members that participated in the making of the IXEG 737. Since I am clueless to whom those individuals are, this post is also generic to the extent that I also want to express my gratitude to all those not mentioned in this post. To the Team and beyond! Thank you, Morten and the development team. Thank you for having the audacity to embark on such a project and whilst I do not know all the names in the group, please feel the gratitude as you would If I had mentioned you by name. Thank you to all the beta testers! I know there has been an extensive number of hours gone into developing and testing this lovely bird. And I do feel I speak for every customer when I say WE DO APPRECIATE IT ALL, every minute, every second of the time you spent making this. I would imagine that we are most likely united when I say we do love the plane and all the joy and grief it has given us. I for one would say it has been worth it, it is truly the best aeroplane ever made for X-Plane, period! I do hope you continue the development as a team, but I will understand if you don't. I for one would gladly pay for updates if this means this project will continue! Special thank you is in order! To Jan: I am gobsmacked with your time spent on extended testing and sharing of information with fellow flight simmer. We are blessed to have your expertise and dedication, both on scenery developments and IXEG member. Your dedication is a true value to the X-Plane Community. And I do hope you continue to share your knowledge of the IXEG 737 aeroplane. You can learn so much from books and papers, but to have a real life pilot giving advice on what to do and not to do, is essential and weight in gold. Sharing how you do things in real life is a value we as flight simmer's love and swallow with great satisfaction and amusement. To Ben Thank you so much, Ben!! I have a slight idea on how tough your day to day life has been recently and to have the IXEG world hanging on your shoulders with providing updates for the GIZMO on your spare time for almost no money. Whilst having a family to take care of is more or less outstanding, you have my deepest respect, truly. I would recommend everybody to donate money to Ben, so he can keep the Gizmo project alive. To Cameron Thank you so much, Cameron. I know you get all the shits we as customer extends on a day to day basis. I can only imagine how hard it must be to try and uphold a fair and respectful feedback, to all customer regardless of case, item, product, forum post and opinion. I have said much, most likely say some more, but my heart is pure and the respect is truly dedicated to guys like you and the rest of the IXEG team and XAviation. Many may not share this special thank you or even my opinion on the matter. This is how I feel and I would argue this every day of the week. XAviation regardless of customer satisfaction is a key player in the X-Plane Market and should have the gratitude this post extends. So to all not mentioned in this post! Thank you all, keep up the dedication and enjoyment of X-Plane development and gaming. We are in many eyes "nerdy" type of guys and girls, but we know what we love and that is what counts. There are many products and key players out there that do a fantastic job for this community, but this post is nearly a dig into that and a small humble effort from my side, to express a deep gratitude for a truly excellent product. I salute you all! Best regards Tom Knudsen1 point

No idea, I don´t have xprealistic so I couldn´t say. I was not aware of a problem with x-enviro along with the vortices in XP10, and no effort was made to fix anything in that regard. The weather radar of a 737-300 does not show turbulence. Cheers, Jan0 points

New HD engine sounds for the Pratt & Whitney PW4000-112 engine. Specifically, the PW4090 version. Details are in the included README. Unfortunately there is currently no way to get the loud howl from behind the engines at idle, but the sound files are included anyway. Also, a sidenote, the PW4090 variant is the only version from the -112 family that doesn't have the low frequency "boop" when you advance the throttles. Please enjoy these new sounds. Feedback is greatly appreciated-1 points -
Cameron, as I've said elsewhere, the options you give are all one-sided and benefit only you. Sorry, but I prefer to deal with companies that don't assume from the get-go that I'm a thief out to get them. Sure, I can turn off this option and then be nagged EVERY TWO WEEKS for the privilege of having bought a product from you. Imagine if you bought a TV and every time you turned it on you had to turn off a license screen that came up each time. You'd be livid. Are you going to actually sit there and suggest to me that this isn't the case? That you'd be perfectly fine with doing that? What other provider nags their customers like this? I own dozens of pieces of flight sim software and the only nagging I get is from X-Aviation.-1 points

I don´t think adjustements for liveries are needed, they should still work. No fix for the drag problem - if we would fix this for XP11 it would be messed up for XP10. So this will need to wait until the full compatibility patch. Jan-1 points
-
No VNAV work for this patch, unfortunately. We are aware for the need of it but could not allocate the time to really fix this, as we intend to rework the code from the ground up to make it really good (no band-aid patches). Jan-1 points

I now understand your myopia.... You actually believe some of this stuff you say -- like that piracy is minimal for X-Aviation products. If you really believe that, then humanity is wasting its time with you. I'm willing to bet you that more people (and it's likely an exponent) run SkyMaxx Pro illegally than own it. If you don't think that's true then we need to bottle whatever it is you took to get you to that fantastical dream land. You think that, because you get PM's, that you must be the only one and that the fanatics that want to be in your good graces (we can all now see what it's like to not be there) might do so for their own benefit.... You clearly continue to spew things that are patently, easily put down, but not in your mind. Simple point: Ask a customer of yours "Would you prefer to own a product that has no validation or one that has validation?" Your intransigence on this point makes my case for me. Everyone would prefer no validation EXCEPT YOU. Are you denying that? Your position says you are. Why? Because in your view it's better than what it was before. Grass is better to eat that dirt, but that doesn't make either of them something to go make a trumpeted video and press release over as a major win for the eater. A process which is related to validation of a product exists why? To validate the user. You know how I know I'm validated? Because I PAID for your product. I don't need to be told continually that I'm valid. I know I'm valid. Stop insulting me. I don't care what others may or may not do. I am your customer. I care about what you do. Regarding tamper processes, yeah, another smoke and mirrors answer. You're out of your league on this one, but nothing will convince you of it so we'll move on. Regarding why I'm "spending all these keystrokes" it's called principle. I understand that this is a concept you might find challenging, but you screwed up this interaction from the outset and don't like it. I give what I get and that too you seem very put off by. Welcome to the mirror. You keep lying time and again and there's no help for that. Good luck convincing customers that you created a validation of their purchase solely for their benefit. Again, I dare you to ask them the above question and we'll see how that poll goes. You won't dare do it. Uh I own FJS. You seem uninformed about their full product line. I can fill you in if you like, but you'll likely just ignore that as you have virtually every single thing I've said to you. Typical.-1 points
