Captains, Within the next 48 hours v1.1 of the IXEG 737 Classic will hit the store and be sent out free of charge to all current customers of the IXEG 737 Classic! We know this has been a long awaited release, and we're really looking forward to getting it into your hands! It's been a long road, but we're now confident with a lot of the work that has taken place over the last year that we can get back to making more frequent updates again on this product. Most importantly, here's what to expect in the update: Added TCAS. Just like in the real airplane, it will show various types of traffic (PROX, TA, RA) and the relative altitude, plus voice callouts and visual aids to avoiding RA traffic. The panel should work as the real one, including TA only, ABV/BLW, STBY, etc. Improved EGPWS. This is enhanced over 1.0.7 - the modes (1-5) should work a lot more closely to how the real modes work, including submodes (i.e. 4A, 4B). There is also a terrain-look-ahead feature that will alert when approaching terrain higher than the aircraft. New panel, new switches, new TERRAIN ON light. New INOP label for FO´s terrain display. Opening cargo doors with door annunciators and 3D cargo holds modeled. Eyebrow windows including selectable sunshade panels (select in preferences menu) Opening cockpit door Now showing current active waypoint distance and ETA on EHSI upper corners in MAP and CTR MAP mode Added increase/decrease map range datarefs A multitude of fixes to FMS stability and LNAV drawing and performance Several texture fixes INOP label for the logo lights if winglets fitted Autopilot fixes (autothrust gain, logic of MA buttons, GS arm logic, cleanup of FMA modes in some circumstances, FL CHG pitch behaviour in MACH regime with turbulence) Several rare gizmo crashes fixed for switches and levers Fixes to headings and bearings shown on FIX INFO and LEGS page (now show correct magnetic tracks) Ground power not showing anymore when booting in turnaround state Fixes to default transition altitude not always showing correctly (still just a crude east/west division) Added realistic way to operate approach speeds on APPROACH page Added failure flag to altimeter when not electrically powered Improved EFIS symbology when IRS units not aligned Fuel gauges now show "lbs" when imperial units are selected LNAV tracking accuracy improved (no more offset flying) Ground model "Ninja fix" when using airplane with XP11 (no full XP11 compatibility yet) Solved numerous situations that would cause the FMS to produce soft crashes in the Gizmo console The aircraft may work in X-Plane11, but we do not officially support it and it may not be truly accurate numbers as you would find flight model wise in X-Plane 10. This is just enough to get by and allow your enjoyment in XP 11. Separate XP11 update will be released at a later point. As is always the case, we thank you so very much for being a customer, and for hanging in there with us during this time period. We are confident you will really enjoy this new update!26 points

@Agrajag I don't get the point here... what is the problem with the new activation process? In my eye it is really straight forward, no more serial numbers, no more requesting new activations, unlimited downloads in the store that don't expire... From MY customer point of view this is a great step forward and I really appreciate this development. And, honestly, clicking one popup every start ist just another click when setting up my aicraft from cold and dark... and you are able to limit this click to happen once in two weeks. Further, copy protection is a common thing in software, gaming and even flight simulation for years now. I really don't understand what this is all about.2 points

Hello All, This will serve as a formal forum announcement that we have released the version 4.5 update for SkyMaxx Pro. All customers who have purchased SkyMaxx Pro v4 up till now have been sent an e-mail by X-Aviation with complete instructions on how to obtain your update. We have made this a very simple process! For those that purchase SkyMaxx Pro v4 from today forward, your purchased download will already be updated to version 4.5 for you. What if I didn't get the update e-mail? If you did not receive your update e-mail don't fret! X-Aviation has updated our system to allow all customers to update with ease, regardless of whether you received an e-mail for the update! Here's what to do: 1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/account_history.php 2. Find your original SkyMaxx Pro 4 download and re-download the file. It will download as the latest version! The following is a list of additions/fixes included: What's New / Changed: Procedural sky box (based on the Hosek model) to accurately simulate sky colors for any time, place, and weather Improved blending of distant clouds into the sky Cloud draw distance increased by 20% Stutters with high cloud draw area settings reduced More realistic and distinctive representation of “HD cloud puffs” stratiform clouds More variety of cloud shapes and positions New, much-improved cloud textures for “crisp” and “soft” cumulus clouds Added glare effect surrounding the sun Our own ephemeris model, for accurate placement of the sun, moon, stars, and planets at night Accurate moon phases and orientation of the moon Various bug fixes and graphical polish As always, thanks for being a customer with X-Aviation. We appreciate your feedback and support! Enjoy these latest updates, and stay tuned to the forum as we continually announce the latest happenings.1 point

Captains, A few weeks ago we announced that downloads were no longer going to expire, and that you would have unlimited downloads for life. That was the first pain point we wanted to rid for you, and so far the reception to it has been fantastic. Today, we'd like to announce the second pain point we are ridding of! Starting later today, you will now be able to self-manage your licenses and be able to authorize and de-authorize your own machines without ever needing to contact us. We are effectively doing away with the "All license slots used" message which required you to contact us for support. This system has been in the works for the better half of the last year, and has taken a ton of work to implement. That said we feel the effort was worth it, and that you'll find it much more customer friendly. Rather than make you read all about it, we have compiled a video to discuss what this is all about. You can find out more by watching below! We really hope you enjoy what you see! As usual, we thank you for your past patronage, and we're looking forward to serving you more in the future! Blue Skies!1 point

The system would not work without validation. It needs validation to make sure a revoked license really gets diabled, in this case after a maximum of two weeks. If this is not made sure the whole copy protection is completely useless. This is not implemented for telling you that you are valid. So I suggest setting it up so it pops up every two weeks for only bothering you when it really needs a new activation. The validation after each sim start is ment to reset the days counter as often as possible so you can use the product as long as possible when you are having connection problems or similar stuff happens that could prevent you from reactivating. In such a case it is better having two weeks until next check than having maybe only three days. And this is how the system serves you and not Cameron or X-Aviation.1 point

Okay this update is much better. I flying with TrackIR and at the old Version If I moved my head the clouds came up to me or moving forward. Or they suddenly disappeared and reappeared. Now it's all ok and the performance is much better - so it must be.1 point

Hi and thanks for the update. Every time I run X-Plane, a small popup windows appear X-Aviation Licensing Your license was updated. and it doesn´t go away. have to click on it.. is that Correct? if so, any chance to fade out after few seconds.. Thanks1 point

A few questions came up and I will try to clarify things a bit: In the default setup, gizmo will pop a little screen every time you start it up. It will ask you to refresh your license, so it loads you up with a full two weeks of "possible offline use". We do this so no one can say that "gizmo phones home behind my back without me ok ´ing it". If this bothers you, you can opt out of this "automatic refresh on startup" (go to the preferences box). Gizmo will then count down your two weeks silently, and ones it runs down, a window pops up and asks you to refresh your two weeks. This is exactly the same process that would happen every time you start up if you hadn´t opted out. The third option is to bring up the refresh box yourself and trigger it manually (if you opted out but plan on going on a trip without internet access, for example). Once your two week timer runs out, the box pops up - and you need to be online to refresh it. If you aren´t you can´t use the program until you are online and can validate again. This is exactly how X-Plane (digital version) does it, too. If there is strong demand to do ALL of this without bothering you (i.e. phone home to refresh silently), it may be possible to add an option for that to the preferences menu. Just let us know. Cheers, Jan1 point

I'm too excited not to announce this, so here it is: As of last Thursday, I am a certified flight instructor. After nearly a decade of flying, four years at university, and tons of debt, I have achieved my penultimate goal and I am now certified to train new pilots. The oral exam went great, and the flight was just as great. And completing this certificate satisfied my final university credit. I already have an interview scheduled with my flight school (next Monday), and on top of that, I qualify for the R-ATP, so upon receiving an additional ≈650 hours, I will automatically be hired by Horizon Air as part of a conditional job agreement I entered with them. I'll finally be paying off my student loans, paying back my parents, and earning a living.1 point

It´s definitely something we want - so it´s not a question of "if" but "when". Cheers, Jan1 point

All those screens show that the gpu could also be the limiting factor. If this is the case you should try the "fast clouds" setting an see if that helps. Also make sure that vsync is set to off when you push your gpu like that as it kills performance as soon as the gpu can't provide the desired frame rate (usually 60 fps or 30 fps if set to half refresh rate). And, don't forget to force threaded optimization to ON in NV control panel. That can also help the gpu being more independent from the cpu and is currently increasing performance significantly for me.1 point

Cameron, as I've said elsewhere, the options you give are all one-sided and benefit only you. Sorry, but I prefer to deal with companies that don't assume from the get-go that I'm a thief out to get them. Sure, I can turn off this option and then be nagged EVERY TWO WEEKS for the privilege of having bought a product from you. Imagine if you bought a TV and every time you turned it on you had to turn off a license screen that came up each time. You'd be livid. Are you going to actually sit there and suggest to me that this isn't the case? That you'd be perfectly fine with doing that? What other provider nags their customers like this? I own dozens of pieces of flight sim software and the only nagging I get is from X-Aviation.1 point

Cameron, I guess what I'm requesting is one level of even more privacy. Go ahead and phone home and don't tell me about it. This destroys the immersion factor to a large degree for me. I'm sitting in my cold and dark plane ready to flip some switches and I have this silly message about a license that I'm required to make go away every single time I load the game. It reminds me of the 1980s all over again with my having to do something because I didn't steal your product. Trust me, I won't be the last person griping about this annoyance and, for me, I will not consider buying another X-Aviation product as long as this requirement is here. I'm also already looking to replace SkyMaxx Pro as a result of this. Very disappointed.1 point

Yup, had the same problem without the tweaking. The above Engine Specs fix with Plane Maker solved that for me.1 point

Yeah that's it : when turning up visibility cloud shadows appear. Thanks1 point

Awesome! Just two questions: "Several texture fixes" Can you elaborate on what exactly has been fixed/changed? Will repainters need to adjust their liveries? "Numerous "ninja fixes" for X-Plane 11 compatibility." Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but will this include at least a partial fix to the low drag problem in XPL11? Of course I don't expect it to be 100% accurate at this time, but currently it's difficult to keep speed even at -1500fpm and with speedbrakes up.1 point

A little story from my last flight. Had a interesting flight yesterday between LSZH (Zurich) and ESSA (Arlanda) during a VATSIM event, when a failure was triggered. Its fun to (try) troubleshooting and find out what has happend without looking at the logfile or the failures menu. (All picture is taken on ground just to illustrate) I had about 400-500nm left on my flight to ESSA when I got this master caution. I obvious have some issues with flight controls and the hydraulics. So my next step is to look at the overhead panel. The first I notice is that both hydraulic pumps for SYSTEM B is indicating LOW PRESSURE. And I noticed the indicators for the flight controls, but my main concern was the hydraulics. So I checked the pressure and quantity for SYSTEM B and confirming that I have a total loss of that hydraulic system. So I was thinking, what to do, what to do. I had no problems flying the aircraft with the autopilot. And everything else worked fine. My next step was to check if the QRH was covering this issue. And it did. Luckly for me. First two steps is to set SYSTEM B FLIGHT CONTROL SWITCH to STBY RUD and set both hydraulic pumps for SYSTEM B to off. So far so good. Still flying. And I made a decision to continue my flight to my destination as planed, it was after all a nice VATSIM event with alot of traffic. I started planing my next steps. What system have I lost ? How do I handle that ? The QRH says this. Systems that are handled by SYSTEM B is. Outboard flight spoilers. Autopilot B. - No issue for me, flying on Autopilot A. Yaw damper. Alternate nose wheel steering. No issue SYSTEM A is covering Nose wheel steering. Normal brakes. SYSTEM A have to handle the brakes, and that means that Autobrake is INOP. Manual braking only. SYSTEM B is also covering flaps, so alternate flaps have to be used. The QRH says I should plan for a FLAP 15 landing. Not sure why, but could be performance issues with a go around or if I lose of a engine, since I cant retract the flaps with the alternate system. Active runway for landing at ESSA this night was 01R (2500 meters). I did ask ATC for 01L (3300 meters) for landing, but it was denied (shame on you ATC) So 01R it is. Winds calm. VREF with FLAPS 15 was 144knots + 15. So my approach speed would be 159kts. The QRH says that alternate flaps extension from flaps 0 to flaps 15 takes 2 minutes. So had to plan this and make sure I was able to set flaps 15 in time. On the approach. At < 230kts I enabled the alternate flaps. Set the flap lever to desired flap position and extend flaps on maneuvering speed schedule using the alternate flaps position switch. Landing checklist: I was able to set the flaps in time and the landing went fine. You can learn so much from the failures IXEG have made availble for us. And a 2 hour "boring" flight from A to B can be pretty busy when you need to start troubleshooting and flying the aircraft at the same time. Pretty sure I was doing a lot of mistakes, but it was great fun From the logfile. The flight on vatsim: https://vataware.com/flight/5926fe4253523315c90000081 point

To qualify that, I mean people asking for unessential cosmetic and vanity additions. Stuff that might double their Twitch followers to 4 but add little or nothing to what was designed to be an in-depth simulation from a pilots point of view, i.e. sitting in a cockpit and flying a plane as accurately as you can given the confines of the silicon based environment we inhabit.1 point

Hi dreambox, First off, I gave you a reputation-click because I feel that you are touching a point that is very present for a lot of our customers. But I would also like to add our perspective to some of your points. I think you are correct in your assessment that our patch 1.1 for XP10 took too long already. Cameron and Ben gave the reason for the latest delay (flooding of Ben´s area), but we concede the point, it has been too long. The patch is ready to go out, Ben is working hard to update gizmo so we can roll it out ASAP. No time estimate, though. Here is my take on XP11: When you bought the plane, it was "for XP10". No mention of "...and future XP versions" or "will be upgraded to future versions as soon as they come out" etc. So while we feel the moral obligation (and the business need) to update it to XP11, we don´t feel the need to do a rush job on it and reserve the right to take as long as we want. We ALL have fulltime jobs. We could not allot the time for a XP11 update in due time, with some of us having other obligations that preclude serious XP-dev work for months or even years. We learned about XP11 not earlier than anyone else, and Ben warned all developers to NOT update their aircraft before XP11 was final. XP11 is STILL not stable. In fact 11.01r1 just broke the landing lights of our plane - going from historical evidence we expect XP11 to stay "somewhat unstable" for another half a year, or more. The 1.1 patch will bring some "ninja-fixes" for XP11 users, the worst problem being the sliding at slow speeds/in cold&dark. The remaining problems you mentioned (especially the engine problem) can be fixed with planemaker tweaks you can do yourself. The only thing that will still be off in XP11 with 1.1 will be the drag being too low and the annunciator lights being too dim. Thank you again for the nice words about our plane (in XP10). I assure you we are working on the XP10 update and also on the XP11 compatibility patch. I may actually do my next preview video for 1.1 in XP11 just to show you how well the plane already works in it. Cheers, Jan1 point

Hi With this post, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all team members that participated in the making of the IXEG 737. Since I am clueless to whom those individuals are, this post is also generic to the extent that I also want to express my gratitude to all those not mentioned in this post. To the Team and beyond! Thank you, Morten and the development team. Thank you for having the audacity to embark on such a project and whilst I do not know all the names in the group, please feel the gratitude as you would If I had mentioned you by name. Thank you to all the beta testers! I know there has been an extensive number of hours gone into developing and testing this lovely bird. And I do feel I speak for every customer when I say WE DO APPRECIATE IT ALL, every minute, every second of the time you spent making this. I would imagine that we are most likely united when I say we do love the plane and all the joy and grief it has given us. I for one would say it has been worth it, it is truly the best aeroplane ever made for X-Plane, period! I do hope you continue the development as a team, but I will understand if you don't. I for one would gladly pay for updates if this means this project will continue! Special thank you is in order! To Jan: I am gobsmacked with your time spent on extended testing and sharing of information with fellow flight simmer. We are blessed to have your expertise and dedication, both on scenery developments and IXEG member. Your dedication is a true value to the X-Plane Community. And I do hope you continue to share your knowledge of the IXEG 737 aeroplane. You can learn so much from books and papers, but to have a real life pilot giving advice on what to do and not to do, is essential and weight in gold. Sharing how you do things in real life is a value we as flight simmer's love and swallow with great satisfaction and amusement. To Ben Thank you so much, Ben!! I have a slight idea on how tough your day to day life has been recently and to have the IXEG world hanging on your shoulders with providing updates for the GIZMO on your spare time for almost no money. Whilst having a family to take care of is more or less outstanding, you have my deepest respect, truly. I would recommend everybody to donate money to Ben, so he can keep the Gizmo project alive. To Cameron Thank you so much, Cameron. I know you get all the shits we as customer extends on a day to day basis. I can only imagine how hard it must be to try and uphold a fair and respectful feedback, to all customer regardless of case, item, product, forum post and opinion. I have said much, most likely say some more, but my heart is pure and the respect is truly dedicated to guys like you and the rest of the IXEG team and XAviation. Many may not share this special thank you or even my opinion on the matter. This is how I feel and I would argue this every day of the week. XAviation regardless of customer satisfaction is a key player in the X-Plane Market and should have the gratitude this post extends. So to all not mentioned in this post! Thank you all, keep up the dedication and enjoyment of X-Plane development and gaming. We are in many eyes "nerdy" type of guys and girls, but we know what we love and that is what counts. There are many products and key players out there that do a fantastic job for this community, but this post is nearly a dig into that and a small humble effort from my side, to express a deep gratitude for a truly excellent product. I salute you all! Best regards Tom Knudsen1 point

You make zero sense. You tried to state that a notification benefits me. Now you're just talking absolute nonsense. How does it benefit ME? It benefits our customers by letting them know we did not sneak behind their back to call up our server. You have shown me no proof that such a notification somehow benefits me. Thus far it's been a poor argument. Are you living under a rock? Almost any popular X-Plane add on connects to servers for activation. xEnviro even requires an always on connection. A few people in a sea of so many thousands, and most illegitimate people who choose to be spiteful after being caught stealing or sharing with friends. You can't sell me on this. Am I somehow supposed to all of a sudden love you? Equally the same, you're now spouting off troll style, borderline exaggerated BS over multiple forums now. Thanks? It's almost laughable what a huge deal you're making out of a mouse click. And, you refuse to comprehend the reasoning for it. Nope, it will not request your username and password again. It will just auto update the license every two weeks and let you know it did it. God forbid you have to click a notification twice in a month that your license is valid! Give ME a break.0 points

How does this approach benefit you? Well, frankly, my argument is that it doesn't actually benefit you. You just believe it does by stopping piracy of your products (which it doesn't do). If it doesn't benefit you, then by all means don't do it! I'm all for that. As you seem to suggest it doesn't benefit you, then go ahead and stop. Sell the products and move on. It's funny how my products from other vendors don't connect to servers, don't treat their customers like crooks and don't call customers whiners..... If you honestly believe you don't have a reputation in need of work then you're choosing not to see the talk about X-Aviation (try Googling "Customer Service X-Aviation". I've been one of your supporters up to this point. I defy you to find a post from my saying a single negative word about your company until this morning. That should tell you something. When others said the customer service with X-Aviation was the worst I defended you and pointed out that my experience was generally fine and that the products I bought worked. On the TV example, sorry, it's absolutely apropos. You try to invalidate it because you don't want to accept that you goofed here. Comparing a start button to a license screen is, however, ludicrous. A start button is generally there to allow a player to decide when they want to start. Perhaps they're getting comfortable, getting a drink, discussing the previous round of play, etc. The start button is actually serving a beneficial purpose requested BY players. As far as nagging, you absolutely are. I have two options with you. A ) force me to lose immersion and click a POINTLESS license screen that shouts "X-Aviation NOW believes you're not a thief, but only until the next launch of this game." or B ) turn that off and get nagged for a username and password that I have to manually enter every two weeks. GREAT options there. I can see why you put out a video.... I'm amazed I didn't see this covered in the Times. Give me a break.0 points

Hallo, I demand the XPlane 11 update by yesterday at the latest. I also demand to know what progress is being made for the XPlane 12 and 13 updates. I have listened to much nonsense about progress being delayed because of storms, floods, hurricanes, meteorite showers etc. Do you think I am stupid!! Everyone knows that weather can be switched off on the settings page! Do not make any further silly excuses! Finally; if wing flex is not fully implemented immediately I will throw my rattle out of the pram!! Get to it now!!!! Kind regards, Michael0 points
