  1. Well well well. This topic is more than 3 years old, and a lot has happened since originally posted. I embarked in other projects, some solo and other in collaboration with others. I have learned a lot in the process and there is still a lot more to learn. But all along my heart has always remained in my second home, the Cozumel Island. Is my favorite destination and my first choice for flying with X-Plane. VFR just around the island, short jumps to or from other airports in the area, longer hauls anywhere on the US East coast or the Caribbean, and even Canada. I converted an old scenery which has served me well until now, but at this point I can't stand the low quality and inaccuracies of the old conversion, so I decided to resucite the initiative and make a full scenery of the entire island, The International airport with the airfforce base at the heart of the project, but it will certainly include a perfectly detailed and accurate Aerodrome Cap. Eduardo Toledo, home of the Cozumel Aeroshow. Also will embark in the creation of all major landmarks, Marine terminals, marinas, shopping centers, plazas, churches, light houses, hotels etc., Full orthophotos with water to depict the beautiful sea that surrounds the island and of course my old house Here is a preview of the international airport, Is still a long way to go but this part is almost complete. All the vegetation and airport grounds are still a WIP and ground textures are just a place holders so bare with me, there are bits and pieces that are not complete, this is just to show what I'm going after . Any comments and feed back is welcome, but refrain to ask for a release date, at this stage not even God knows

  6. In the same way I question the value of a lighted cabin at night from exterior view, when in reality it's not so realistic? My point here is not to insult you, but to make apparent that many people have different opinions. Incorrect assumptions. Please don't go trying to compare other people or groups to another, especially from another sim. Free time is something none of the guys definitely have, and when they do, it's going to better priorities. I used past tense, not present, so this question is way out of context. Trying to project other peoples failures onto this team is not fair of you to do, so please don't. More importantly, I'd encourage you to do some research as to who the people on this team are and you'll perhaps quickly realize they are not prone to leave things behind. There are methods within X-Plane to make it so such a cabin is not impacting resources when not in use/view. It's simply a matter of doing things right. Never mind the fact that the 737 is already an extremely good performer FPS wise. *for me (you). As I said, in due time. This group does not skimp on the details when it's time to get something done. The dedication to this product has not changed, and if promises were made (as they previously have been), they'll get done. Longish story short? The cabin lights will come proper when the cabin itself is done.

  7. The lightning of clouds definitely seems improved and I think we're one step closer to getting there. I can't comment on performance since I haven't really flew in an area with bad weather, but from what I've seen it also seem's to have improved. Overall I would like to thank you for listening and improving RWC + SkyMaxx. Regards

  8. Hello! I noticed that landing gear don't deflected same way the real aircraft have. And after some research I found that flap_cl don't change when speedbrakes are deployed. But I think, from aerodynamic point of view, flap_cl should have massive drop. As a result speedbrakes are not so effective as real ones. On many videos that we can see the aircraft rapidly "drops down" on wheels immediately after touchdown and when speedbrakes come up. I have wrote a script for FlyWithLua which is fix flap_cl and flap_cm depending of speedbrakes angle deployed. I attach this one for illustration. Also I change damping constants, and deflection a little bit too, this way: I have loaded three videos if you wish to see the result: PS1: Also I've noticed that CDU and Ground Service shows stab trim settings for CG 20 and 22 — 3.6 and 3.4 respectively. But based on AFM for B737-300, stab trim settings for 18 — 22 range should be 4.75 — 4.25 respectively. PS2: I want to be a beta tester!) But anyway! Great thanks for this beautiful product!

  9. Jerico, you obviously do not know what you are doing here. 1. You have changed the gear SPRING CONSTANTS and DAMPER CONSTANTS, which we know are spot on! By doing what you do you are altering aircraft performance on takeoff, crosswind and ground handling in a negative way. We do not want you to encourage people to do this! 2. Your gear comparison photo is very inaccurate to put it mildly So for these reasons I am deleting your "fix". Any flightmodel changes need to go through us - which means you need to document everything PROPERLY and submit it to us and we'll take a serious look at it. XP's ground spoiler model is most likely not perfect, but a "hack" like this is not the way to fix it. Topic closed

  13. Yes, that's exactly what this update is for. It gets METAR information in "always" mode from a different server, since NOAA shut down the one we (and X-Plane) had been using before. NOAA/NWS isn't going to stop providing METAR data, but they reserve the right to change the way in which they provide it, which is what happened.

  14. Beautiful shots, Ricardo! I am just worried about the yellow Master Caution in picture #2, I hope you made it back to terra firma ok!? Thanks for sharing, Jan

  15. Well nowadays - at least for me - it´s hard to imagine that 747s flew into El Alto in the past. Then again I´d have loved to see that (can´t find any video in the internet).

  16. About the gear, it is very unclear what you mean and what your reference is. We are offcourse open to debate flightmodel related stuff, BUT "undocumented claims" and "I think" type of engineering is not how this aircraft is build. M

  18. That reminds me of my first arrival at El Alto in 1988 with a Lufthansa B747-200, I was only 5 years old and threw up on the apron after leaving the aircraft. Those days El Alto was also serviced by LanChile with their Boeing 737-200/300. I would be very grateful for that classic livery!

  19. I've heard that the NOAA URL fix will actually be distributed separately as part of an RWC update. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, X-Plane's 10.50rc3 release fixes their own URL, so RWC in "automatic" mode should start working again if you have 10.50rc3.

  23. Two screenshots about the takeoff data card work in progress with rain and wind (with and w/o gusts): MAC and ACT TOW values are shown at 0 because when I did the screenshots I didn't have used the load panel to specify pax, cargo and fuel so some computations weren't done yet. Data cards are dynamically updated in real time.

  25. Work with lights proceed, this time concerns the cockpit: here you can see some screenshots regarding pilot and copilot fluorescent lights only, pilot and copilot incandescent lights only, all flood lights but the cockpit flood and alternate thunderstorm, and last but not the least flood lights pilot + copilot + pedestal + central instrument panel + overhead. As the spill lights are somewhat ‘heavy’ with the frame rate we’re still working about their optimization in order to keep the frame rate as high as possible.

  27. A little preview of the terrain radar work-in-progress: Elevations not yet considered, actually I'm working mainly to the terrain engine in order to understand which is the best way to map the area. Please remember that the terrain radar is not a device originally meant to be high def/high res as we intend today, so a low/medium res could be accepted. Actually available ranges are 10, 20, 40 and 80nm... I'm sure that further improvements are doable but I always write my code thinking at overall performances, so if I'll introduce some lags because a range extension to 160nm or a better display resolution I'll do a step back immediately.

  31. After the MCDUs I wish to post those TCAS shots. This one is about Vatsim traffic at KSFO: This one is about Ivao traffic at LEBL: And this one is about AI traffic at LICR: Those are situations while still at ground (function enabled just to take the screenshots, sorry but I've not too much time to scramble like a fighter in order to find and intercept some airborne traffic ).
