As Jan says, DCL is for debug only; however, I think other FMS systems may utilize it. (Hrm..small bug uncovered. The wrong waypoint is Magenta :P) See...still a tiny bit of work to do NOTE: Before we get in too deep....theses points are not absolutes.....except maybe the first T/D. You cross that first T/D circle and the plane enters the decent phase. The other green dots are "estimated" of course and depending on lots of things...like our performance database, winds and such, the plane may respond a bit on "either side" of these markers...but they are, in general, close....or should be. Its one of those things we expect users to help refine if we missed anything. Here's the correlation.7 points

Technically, thats not quite correct . Just like the real weather radar we depict radar-energy returns. Radar energy will be reflected by liquid water (rain) and by the solid ground (in varying strength, depending on the reflectivity). There will be a tutorial video that shows how to use the weather radar (overscanning, underscanning, ground returns, shadowing, etc.) Jan5 points

Release 1.0 is closing... This is the point where I say "stop" for v1.0. You never really can finish a plane. Still, there are awful lots of things to do. But let's leave those for v2.0 So what we have so far: Quite realistic engine and flight model (~95% matching real data) Instrument lighting Yoke can be hidden Basic anti and de-ice system Custom engine sounds Custom engine startup Checklist for XCheclist Wunderbaum and many more which is up to you to find out All basic instruments are working, you can either fly RNAV with Garmin or NON-RNAV (VOR2VOR) flights with the NAV instruments. Did several flights on IVAO lately to check out if I missed something, but seems like all are there. Of course, I'll keep working on this beauty Despite I put a lots of effort to this plane, v1.0 will remain freeware. That's not going to change. Ever. Bugfixes of course will come after release, so I'll keep updating this version. But in the meantime I start working on v2.0 which going to be payware. But that's really the far-ish future, so I don't want to get ahead of myself yet. Here are the latest shots, hope you like it.4 points

This is symbology we have in there for now to help with debugging. Later on there will be only one T/D. DCL means "decelerate" and denotes points where a speed-change is scheduled. Jan2 points

Please send us the logs immediately after the crash. These logs don't have any mention of the crash, suggesting you ran the sim normally, with another aircraft, after the crash. This resets the txt files.1 point

Here is some 737 CL training videos from BAA Training. Not all are relevant maybe. But still very interesting. You can find rest at https://www.youtube.com/user/marketingBAA1 point

Your flight course looks like you are going to go back on yourself so perhaps it refuses to calculate it. Perhaps you haven't set the ILS it won't be able to calculate if some other input is lacking so you might look at that. You could try a reinstall. You could also check your nav database is OK Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk1 point

Holy smokes... That project went far beyond my expectations. I hope there is a link where we could possibly donate? Great job regardless, the cockpit looks absolutely gorgeous!1 point

Are you trolling Cameron? Because you are getting my blood pressure all raised up when you mention the word "release" in a post...1 point

glad to hear you got it up on the skies nicely unable vref speeds background: yes, i forgot to mention my fault. because this aircraft was meant for very loooong trips and heavy loads (pax, fuel, cargo) the engines are extremely powerful. When you configure the bird for a very short trip you need to derate (remove thrust) the engines considerably so the FMC can computate a safe takeoff. To derate your engines you have pre-programmd profiles under the takeoff fmc page. derate as much as required. This will limit engine thrust during takeoff. You can also derate the engines by cheating the FMC introducing an extremely hot temp above current conditions.1 point

I'd love TCAS, even if it's just a basic placeholder for now. During one of my lessons, a passenger (a former pilot) told me about an aircraft. If it had been a couple hundred feet higher and he hadn't told me about it, it would probably have been too late by the time I saw it. It was entirely my fault, but it makes me feel like TCAS is almost necessary in modern aircraft. I was actively looking for aircraft (I just didn't see it somehow), so if I had been looking at the TCAS I would have been able to spot it earlier and avoid any tiny chance of a collision. Anyways, I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could slip in a very basic (even default) TCAS before release so we have something. -VETTE1 point

Once you are 'out of bounds' of the route parameters, you are right that things go bad very fast. The most difficult situation is when you are past the Top of Descent point and you simply cannot make it to the runway following the procedure without flying too steep and with flight spoilers deployed and even then there is no guarantee depending on how "late" you are past the T/D point. Simply said, in such a case, you can NOT recover and still fly the given procedure, you have to extend your descent distance somehow by flying off route. Jan does this in one of his videos where he "circles back" and rejoins a procedure leg. (ala pattern work) Also, It could be your arrival procedure has some restrictions that cause you to fly level segments and if you can get ATC permission to bust the restrictions, you could make up some ground and descend on those legs. I have actually spent the last few weeks working on these more difficult scenarios...what to do "IF". As Jan mentioned...as a professional pilot, he has never seen some of these situations, but for newbies like us, we get into trouble all the time and so the FMS has to handle really odd inputs sometimes. There is one thing to note...and that is that the flight profile does have bounds....and the FMS is not a "save all". You get too far out of bounds and the FMS will do no good or give you bad results. BUT, I can say firsthand, that is why I myself keep at it....to get it right. It is addicting. I flew my very first completely automated flight yesterday, takeoff to touchdown with speed and altitude restrictions on climb and descent...all the way down to minimums, the ultimate milestone. All I did was raise/lower gear and flaps after engaging LNAV/VNAV. So whats left? There are still other scenarios we have to punch in to see what happens. Short routes, half routes, changed routes, changed destinations etc. Of course we have coded for these, but we are testing them now for stability and patching holes as they arise. Good news is the bugs are getting much fewer and far between. Stability testing with a broader group is up next. -tkyler1 point

I was just now able to see the video of the FMC VNAV climb. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW. All the other airliners that I own for X-plane pale in comparison to this one. If you tried to change things on the other airliner's FMC's as Jan did in the video, without a doubt, you either could not do it, or the FMC would have a "brain fart." Awesome job guys. I can't wait to add this plane to my virtual hanger. Once I do, the others will collect virtual dust. Kevin1 point

Not really, in my opinion. I hate the new cockpit (it looks more like a 787 than a 737). I like that it burns less fuel, but I don't like how aerodynamic it must be to do so. It already doesn't descend too well. I wonder how it'll descend after the changes. Either way, I still like it more than the A3201 point

Amazing first flight, I like the fact that they kept the traditional 737 style but give it a more modern feel. I hear that the 737-MAX is more economic in terms of fuel consumption. That's always a bonus.1 point

How about an explanation in full of what you've done to dig yourself a hole. Your logs reveal a lot about the state of your X-Plane installation. I can see that you've been "exploring" the contents of Extension Manager, possibly installing things that don't come in the box. Your Log.txt also looks edited. It's missing the entire sequence of plugin load and start but contains the plugin exit log items. Please don't mess around. Just be straight with your facts.-1 points
