  1. X-Plane 11 11.51r1, using ASXP and RWC. Discovered with 5.0.1, but also present in just installed 5.0.5. When i have changed the cloud textures a few times then XP crashes, and log says due to plugin SkuMaxx Pro

  2. Hello All, This will serve as a formal forum announcement that we have released the version 5.0.5 update for SkyMaxx Pro. All customers who have purchased SkyMaxx Pro v5 up till now have been sent an e-mail by X-Aviation with complete instructions on how to obtain your update. We have made this a very simple process! For those that purchase SkyMaxx Pro v5 from today forward, your purchased download will already be updated to version 5.0.5 for you. What if I didn't get the update e-mail? If you did not receive your update e-mail don't fret! X-Aviation has updated our system to allow all customers to update with ease, regardless of whether you received an e-mail for the update! Here's what to do: 1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/account_history.php 2. Find your original SkyMaxx Pro v5 download and re-download the file. It will download as the latest version! The following is a list of additions/fixes included: What's New / Changed: Removed 500 meter lower bound of volumetric cloud layer altitudes with Real Weather Connector Implemented soft cloud / terrain blending with volumetric clouds Fixed regression in how volumetric clouds are drawn on configurations where depth buffer reads are not supported (notably MacOS with MSAA enabled) As always, thanks for purchasing from X-Aviation!

  3. Hi all, Another great update, really like what you have done and really shows the potential :-). Just some things I noticed: - When wind is enabled, thís is what drops the framerate from the Volumetric cloud types. No wind: Super high frames, when the wind is enabled, the frames drop hard. I see the volumetric clouds are also re-rendered and seem to change due to the wind (not only move) which is a nice detail, but if this is the reason the frames drop so hard, maybe add an option to disable this 'dynamic cloud drawing'? - When in the volumetric clouds there appears to be some sort of line/cut-off in the cloud. - It seems that the procedural clouds have been fixed again (haven't seen white squares anymore), which is nice as I find it good looking and having good performance for the overcast layer. Nice! Only 'thing' I noticed is that there seems to be some color difference between the procedural and cloudpuffs/volumetric. Would be nice if that would be brought a bit more together colorwise. - Just a thought, is it an option to create a cumulus option that is based on the procedural drawing method as well or is that difficult/ugly? Really excited what the volumetric clouds will bring and where you will take the product. Cheers!

  4. For what is worth, I'll second this suggestion. Would be very helpful.

  5. Yes, but why is this impact only there when using volumetric clouds? I never experienced this impact in SMP 4.x, there was a noticable hit but it was not that severe (as least I don't remember that).

  6. Low volumetric cloud layers will have more impact than higher ones as the rays passing through the clouds create more work for the GPU the closer you get to the clouds because of the angle the camera looks at the cloud formation. In low clouds situations the clouds come closer to you so low clouds cause higher FPS impact. But, as the thunderstorms are non-volumetric I wonder why the have a more dramatic impact on my FPS than flying closeto the volumetric clouds (with full classic style clouds the impact is not that heavy).

  7. I also noticed there is severe performance impact with thunderstorm/towering clouds involved. If I understand correctly those are still classic style clouds so I don't understand why there is a massive hit with them - even if there is low visibility, massive fog present (about 10 sm, so low clouds draw distance) and very few volumetric style clouds present (just one or two small volumetric clouds not touching the storm clouds), the towering clouds can reduce performance heavily (this is more severe than the volumetric clouds when flying through or close above/below them).

  8. I got my copy at 50% off, due to being a v4 owner. And I have to say - Thank you. Version 5 is excellent, and with two updates out already, and even on a weekend, My respect for the development team. Great work.

  9. The Saab was released in 2013, and was getting very good fps numbers back then on the hardware of that age. With your specs, you will have no performance issues.

  10. For those that really want it, a new installer has been placed on the server with a proper windows plugin that says 5.0.4 when installed.

  11. So, football break! Seems OK. Can't believe you guys are working on the weekend. Grab a beer and watch the games! Still some stuff to clean up but I'm sure you will get there...

  12. It seems if I toggle the FSE switch on and off on the load manager it fixes the problem

  13. Excellent thanks for the heads up. I just assumed that engine temps would decline as time was elapsed since the engine was shut down and closing the sim. So in theory the only way to return to a cold engine would be to shut the aircraft off and leave the sim running until the temps have cooled right off? Appreciate you checking the code, just a small thing but it would be nice to have Joe

Hello Captains! I made a simple LUA-script for v-speed callouts. It includes callouts for 80 knots, V1, Vr, V2 (V2 is optional) and positiv rate / gear up. The script is tested on X-Plane 10.51 and X-Plane 11 on Windows 10. Feel free to leave a comment if you liked the script (or not) Requirement: - You will need FlyWithLua installed - http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/17468-flywithlua-for-xp9-and-xp10/ Installation: - Unzip the files in [X-Plane]\Resources\plugins\FlyWithLua\Scripts You should get a structure something like this. Settings:Edit the IXEG_vSpeed.lua for the settings. Set to true to enable "V2" callout and false to disable. true and false have to be written with lowercase letters.Enable_V2 = false Set to true to enable "Positive rate/Gear up" callout and false to disable. true and false have to be written with lowercase letters. EnablePosGearUp = true Sync the First Officers speedbugs with what you set on Captain side. Default = false. true and false have to be written with lowercase letters. SyncSpeedBugs = false Change "SoundLevel" to adjust volume for the callouts. Adjust between 0.10 min - 1.00 max (default 0.55) SoundLevel = 0.55 How to use: This is how I use the bugs. It may not be correct compared to real procedures. The required bugs you need to set for the call out to work is Bug_2 to V1 speed, Bug_3 to Vr speed, and set the MCP speed to V2 (if you use V2 callout). You can set the other bugs to whatever you prefere. Demo: Known bugs/limitations: - Speed bugs can only be set on Captains side. Credits: @xplana for his excellent voice for the callouts For support, please visit: http://forums.x-pilot.com/forums/topic/12002-lua-script-vspeed-callouts/
