SkyMaxx Pro + RWC with the latest updates ... is still the best cloud and weather presentation addon for X-Plane and worth every brass penny! Thanks guys, for such a quality addon that gives me awesome skies and increased fps. I see lots of attempts to enhance X-Plane skies but none of them come close to the degree of technical professionalism, precision and artistry of SkyMaxx pro (and I do try those others on a separate X-Plane install just to see what's out there). Simply amazing. With the influx of people taking up X-Plane these days, I tell everyone I can; if you want awesome skies in X-Plane then it's SkyMaxx Pro ... period. Nothing else compares.3 points

VANV SPEED intervention (to command the speed via mcp while in vnav mode) is not supported on this simulated 733 classic avionics. Every aircraft even on same variants may have different avionics releases and updates. While you are descending in VNAV mode the aircraft will follow whatever speeds are on the legs page. You can edit them there by entering on the scratchpad XXX/ + pressing corresponding RSK That being said you have to account the following considerations: -These jets are -very- slippery on nature, they have to be efficient on thrust and fuel burnt after all. They require planning for the descends because you can not slow down them on a dime at high speeds. -Wind descend forecast are not implemented yet (but confirmed to be coming), the fmc calculates the descend profile based on no wind condition. Any tail wind during the flight will put the fmc in trouble to make the aircraft descend under the profile because the fmc did not expect winds pushing the aircraft forward and increasing ground speed. You have to keep monitoring the descend profile on the ND information (vertical diamond indication on the right down ND corner) and applying as much speed brakes as required to help the aircraft stay under speeding control. If you let it overshoot the profile by a big margin you will not recover from this situation easily and a chain of overshoots will follow. Remember the slippery design thing! Applying speed brakes is a standard common technique on real life. Once you have winds forecast in place for the fmc being able to predict a more accurate descend profile you will use them less. But you will still use them. -You have also to consider most of the arrival procedures does not establish any speeding restriction other than the FMC restricting VNAV <250 knots below 10000ft. If you look at the legs page will not see 220 200 180 or whatever, you may see 240 for all of the waypoints. This doesn't mean you can approach 240knots to intercept an ILS or to make the final pattern turns to get the runway aligned. On real life ATC will keep asking you reduce speed to, reduce speed to. And you also have to account for maximum speeds closer to XX NM to the field. Botton line is, if you do not plan your approach having the proper background the STAR procedure will not restrict you necessarily and you will find yourself at ridiculous high speeds closing to the airport. -if you want to control speeding via MCP you have to switch to FLCH or VS mode. hope this helps a bit.2 points

I went crazy, clouds were just too awesome so I had to snap a few picture. Also Skymaxx Pro 3.2 and RWC are just flat OUT F'ing AWESOME!!!! .And I could have done more. Being at the right place, at the right time. All pictures are shot organically. Not pre setup, just raw as it was happening while flying from KWJF home base to KTUS . Just WOW is all I can say. xplana, the iWatch version will be limited; probably will only be used for ACARS. Android cannot be done this year for sure, but I would not exclude such possibility completely.2 points

Hello, IXEG pilots. After almost a year of development, I am close to finishing beta-testing of my iOS application for this great plane - iGoDispatch for IXEG's B733. This is a planning tool that includes a range of options, such as : creating a flight plan and uploading it to FMC as a co-route; estimating the required fuel taking into account X-Plane winds aloft (the first release will take into account winds aloft in US and the update is intended to include the grib wind data to be available in X-Plane 10.50) ; loading the plane with passengers, cargo and fuel; estimating and dynamically adjusting the CG offset during the flight; monitoring the flight on the map; creating a report on your flight performance; adding in-flight public announcements in 7 languages. I intend to release the iPad version of the application by end of summer. Versions for iPhone and iWatch are expected to be released later this year. Hope it will be a valuable addition to this plane!1 point

I asked this buried in another thread, but it might be overlooked, so I thought I'd ask it outright in a new thread. Can this be done? Thanks, Tim1 point

The CWS P is a fallback mode when the GS is lost after it was captured. The plane will tolerate a missing GS signal for a second or so, but then revert to CWS P. This is working ok in your movie - but the GS should never capture in the first place in this scenario... Jan1 point

Bernardo, what you are *used* to in in other products does not mean it is realistic. Please do some research and document your claims if you "demand" something fixed. That said, Jan had a hard time convincing me about how poorly the lights (especially the taxi light) in real illuminate, but after seeing dozens of video's etc I agreed with him. If anything, we set our lights on the strong side1 point

No jumping clouds so far in 3.2.1. Looks good. Thanks1 point

Sorry about the topo error, HUGE not hugh, but I was in a deep funk after reading your post when I wrote my initial response. Your video clip captured my feeling of despair exactly. Hopefully, the project will resume in the near future as I already paid the full fee and was really looking forward to completion of the entire Hawaii island package. Live and learn.1 point

Thank you for your feedback about the VNAV performance. We are still tuning it and hope to improve it, although I do read a fair amount of user misconception about how it is supposed to work in your post. About the claim of the light intensity not being correct - may I ask you how many hours you have in real Boeing airliners? Just to confirm the credibility of your claim, of course. Thank you very much, Jan1 point

Hugh is always dissapointed. Sorry, I had to do it. Defiance_Co, you're just about spot on. Also, my partner hasn't sent me any further files to process and I haven't heard from him in a while. For the time being, I'll focus on the cockpit. I have no intention of backing out of this stuff but for now we're taking a break. We'll hopefully have something to show for ourselves by the end of the summer. I'm working on a secret X-Plane project myself at the moment.1 point

if you mean a persistent ding ding ding ding ding ding... this is the throttles are in forward position and the aircraft is not configured for takeoff yet. Put the throttles back to idle position. if not can you describe what it sounds like? can you make a short video?1 point

Just loaded the aircraft - WOW - Nice job to the PMDG team. I could not be happier with the product. This is version 1 and I am sure it will get even better as they work the little nit noid kinks out of it. But bottom line for me, PMDG hit a home run with the DC-6. I read some of the manual before I started. Had the hardest time trying to figure out why, at first, only 2 engines would go to full power and the other two only about half way. Discovered the gust lock which got me over that hurdle. After that, I had a great cross country flight from KBOS down to KDCA. Had to actually manage aircraft systems (fuel, etc). The aircraft flies like a champ and everything seems to work and respond as in the actual aircraft. They include an optional flight engineer and co-pilot to help with the checklist if you so desire. I started without and then switched over to the assist for climb and rest of flight. What a blast! It was a bit of a workout but it brought me back as close to real flight as you can get (minus 4 billion for a level d sim :)). I have nothing but praise for the product, nice job for the initial entry into X-Plane. They really hit this one out of the ball park. Of note, the only two aircraft I fly are the IXEG 737 and PMDG DC-6. They, have done a terrific job at getting the flight characteristics and aircraft systems modeled correctly. The other aircraft seem to be a cut below (just my opinion for what it is worth).1 point

Your KLAX looks ugly! Why don´t you have at least the default KLAX showing? Is your X-Plane updated to 10.45?? Jan1 point

Thank you mmerelles. Sounds a little bit odd to me, but I can get it. Maybe a cultural difference?-1 points
