Captains, X-Aviation and IXEG are pleased to provide you a free upgrade to version 1.0.5 of the IXEG 737 Classic! Just like with our previous update, we will use the HotFix upgrade system here. Rather than going and re-downloading an entire aircraft package, or having to go through a full re-install process, we will be offering more immediate code changes through this delivery method. In short, it's quick, easy, and kind of fun! Please read below how to install this update! But first, here's what's in it... Version 1.0.5 introduces the following fixes: Fixed 12 individual cases of gizmo soft-crashing related to LNAV/VNAV Hardened the coroute loader against corrupted routes or invalid formats No more spamming prefs file to other aircrafts folders After capturing LOC only, single push of APP will now arm GS as well TAKEOFF REF page not prematurely changing to CLB page anymore Fixed another case of MCP speed going to M.84 after VNAV disconnect Stopped AP turning off the final approach course on LNAV in some cases Autobrakes should not disarm upon brake application when they are only armed No more sound of starter playing without air pressure Fixed wrong magnetic courses displayed on LEGS page LEGS page distance TO precision adjusted for distances over 9.9NM. Fix for ISA/DEV calculation when entering OAT on PERF INIT page. Fixed wrong magnetic bearing and radials displaying with FIX page symbology Display of terrain elevation should stay on map now in CTR MAP mode Fixed frame-rate drop when holding push-to-talk switch Smoother autothrust operation when in vertical speed AP mode To upgrade your aircraft to version 1.0.5 please follow the below steps: Open X-Plane and the 737 Classic as your aircraft In the X-Plane menu bar at top, select Plugins > Gizmo64 > Windows > HotFix You will be asked to enter in your HotFix ID. Copy and paste in the following: 795cbef4ceadcc7692727063afd8c4eb Click 'Update' Once it has downloaded and installed, click 'Reboot' and you'll be done! Thank you for all of your support! Oh no, there are quite a few excuses in the repertoire of an airline pilot. Birds, CB´s, bad LNAV coding...1 point

Are you using the right email? I'd recommend sending a ticket to support. They can help you better with the activation issue.1 point

Unfortunately, the B is not in our immediate or near future. For the time being, everything is dedicated to the C23 upgrade, Saab 340A update and Citation. Once those plates are cleared, then we'll look further ahead.1 point

After giving your passengers some nice aerobatics, they'll be down on the ground. May not be happy though1 point

Hi and thanks for the report! the conditional waypoints are a very hard challenge for the FMS. We will check this one out and see where things went wrong...but hey, in the end you would end up at RWY 04, right? Cheers, Jan1 point

Hi guys, thanks for the nice words and feeback - I think we are getting to the point where the plane works reliably and satisfactory within the limits of what we set out to do. Next will be adding the "missing features" as outlined in my initial post about that. We will spot/introduce some bugs during this process for sure, and I envision us doing the odd hotfix until 1.1 - but they will not be coming at a weekly basis, but rather "when having enough to warrant one". Please continue to report all findings, it is easy to get accustomed to little peculiarities, but we want the plane to work as the real one does, without having to "work around" or "avoid" certain things! Happy flying everyone, Jan1 point

You can copy the route in PFPX (go to the route edit window, it's in the lower left corner). Just don't copy SID, STAR and transitions. Paste into notepad and add departure and arrival airport, save file as .fpl and that's it. The same holds true for Simbrief.1 point

Thanks Jan. Makes sense. I've subsequently changed my LUA script to only allow a max of 7 degrees nose wheel steering when using the rudders. The tiller will give me 78 degrees. Works a charm. Now I'm just looking for that dataref which knows whether I'm holding the tiller...1 point
-
Hi Guys, I played around with a LUA script and I'm now able to use my tiller and rudder independently. There is however no "override" between the two. So rudder axis will only move rudder and tiller axis will only move tiller... Just out of curiosity... how does it work in the real plane? Thanks1 point

You guys at IXEG must be so nervous... This is an inflection point for Xplane. Congratulations for all IXEG members. Jan! Finally I´m gonna see your vids!1 point

for grins, I couldn't help but wonder if other "big releases" deal with such issues.....so out of curiosity, I compiled a list of all the update items for PMDGs NGX since its release.....TEN pages long!...with one as recently as a year ago...ish. and the first patch repaired several CTD issues. We have defintiiely NOT seen an x-plane crash in I don't even know how long. Oh well, we keep improving, one foot in front, that's how we got here in the first place. Back to work for me! -tkyler1 point

Yes Cameron. I also see the problem. I do see that you are working hard and the app has been steadily improving. However all you have to do is take a look at another small shop, the one that makes Active Sky. Say what you like, their product looks a lot more like real-life. And they have the added bonus of not having a prickly and defensive guy leaning on his customers when they point out legitimate shortcomings. One of the virtues of X-Plane and this community, is the wide and deep pool of thoughtful users and developers. Your own IXEG as an example. They listen, respond, and don't get their backs up when someone says their product needs work, here and there. Hope you take this in the spirit it's intended. Best, Marshall-1 points

Uhhh. You're doing it now. 'nuff said on my end. I'll leave it to others to look at some of your past replies, and other threads, and judge for themselves. Maybe it's my sensibilities that need calibration. But in my experience, it's not how you think you act that matters, it's how others see it. Best, marshall-1 points

My remarks were not aimed at the minutiae of your interchange with the customer in question. My impressions were based on reading your posts over time. I don't doubt you have a passion for making software and making it the best you can. That's not at issue. What I have noticed, over the years, is that you are prickly and defensive, even when you're right. About a million years ago, I got some customer-service training for a major retailer that was known for truly excellent service. The primary lesson was simple--It is always a bad idea to win an argument with your customers. Even if you're right. At worst, you lose them as customers. At best, you sow doubts such as "Gee, this guy spends so much time trying to win an argument; I wonder how much time he actually spends improving the product and my experience." Again, I have no doubt you're proud of what you do and make. I'm a major fan of RWC. I'm a MINOR fan of SkyMaxx. I'm a devoted fan of IXEG. That's not the issue. I just think the tone sometimes is off-putting--and it's something I never notice from Morten, or Jan or Frank and others. best, marshall-1 points
