I really don't want to misrepresent the product and I honestly stand 100% behind it and its beauty.......Dave captured it nicely in the video starting at 00:48: The scene with the windsock is the most accurate depiction of how these clouds operate.....4 points

As we continue to move forward, beta testing has gone quite well. Our testers have been an invaluable resource with their real world experience, and this is translating well into the polishing of this project. I thought the following quote from one of our testers was a great compliment and wanted to share it with you!... I decided to go over the electrical system a bit this morning. Testing it is tedious, because it´s very complicated, and I often thought I found a bug, only to read up and find out that it works exactly as intended. My hat is off to the coders, excellent job!... ...Again, great job on a very complicated system!3 points

The Patient Pilot's Lament (sung to the tune of 'Home On The Range') Oh I've got a home Where the Beaver can roam Where the Cubs and the Husky's do play Then seldom we'd hear The silence of fear When the Cessna's can't come out today Home Western AK A land for the Beavers to play You've not heard a sound 'til you've heard that big round With a Beaver there's no need to pray bc2 points

A little bit of avionics news. The new update will feature X-Scenery's Garmin GTX330! The avionics will resemble a private owner's 152; an owner who keeps his or her 152 up to date with pretty good tech! Its like getting a whole new plane in this v10 update!2 points

I can't wait for this! I fly a 150 in real life and this thing looks so realistic!1 point

Thanks Hueyman, Ill take a look at that! Currently working on the new manual!1 point

That shot is really breathtaking, during some seconds, it looks like a great Airliner.net photograph1 point

This looks so nice ! But, the real 152 got a slightly positive dihedral angle. I assume you have put 0° here, and from a visual feeling it seems wings are lazy and tie down ;-) Don't know if it is hard to change at that point. Anyway, really glad you continue to support and greatly improve your product, much appreciated ! http://i22.servimg.com/u/f22/11/18/10/13/gfkjkk10.jpg1 point

I will say that this system will not be able to reproduce those sharp edges, problem is using 3D procedurally drawn clouds instead of billboards. But I think we have a more realistic approach over default and 3D is a better option for realism while flying. Now that's not to say the future updates wont bring more detail but the product, right now, will hold up better then other simulators in my opinion. The benefit of using procedurally drawn 3D clouds is it allows for a "snowflake effect" no two clouds systems look exactly alike additionally it gives the user the ability to fly realistically through clouds as if in a real environment. Billboards tend to repeat and look unrealistic. I think the future is in this approach and similar to how Outerra does ground terrain..... Oh another good point using this approach, cloud systems will morph depending on wind speed and direction. Again you will have to see this in action to understand how dynamic and alive this looks while flying1 point

Ramzzess Aviation Design, the developer responsible for add-ons like the SSJ-100 and other Russian aircraft, has announced a joint project with Philipp Avionics. Philipp Avionics is run by Philipp Muenzel, the creator of the systems for the Take Command! CRJ-200. The Boeing 777-200LR will be a "Licensed by Boeing" product, featuring custom systems and avionics, including a custom FMC. More information about this upcoming product may be found in the official forum announcement thread located at X-Plane.org.1 point

Thanks Hueyman, The comparison is a good one, I think they look similar myself. But this is much more then the clouds in FSX I think users will appreciate how dynamic they really are.....3d like default but also pleasing to the eye.....more to come and much work to be done1 point

Glad such thread has been created ! I myself tried to contact Tom a while ago ( just found the e-mail today, was on February 2013 ) on his x-scenery mail address. Sadly, never got any answer ( maybe the mail never arrived its destination ) Anyway, I was very open to know if there was place for improvement, so any of us could contribute to the upgrading of this really nice default plane. On my side, I was ready to model new props for it and revise the whole engine management, as several things related to PT-6 turbine control aren't done in the current version ( Bêta range etc ). I don't know a single thing regarding complex avionic, this is why the idea of anyone putting his little piece of work ( where she/he is specialized ) is seducing I think.1 point

Last pict is to die for man ... Finally... FINALLY ! For teh first time in X-Plane history, clouds starts to seriously looks like clouds ! This shoots looks like a fully " addonized " FSX picture ( that is a huge compliment from a graphical point of view )1 point

As for a bona-fide report....We are most definitely working on it, doing small 3D bits and details, texturing the other parts of the cockpit, the gallies, specular map work, etc...doing mechanisms on the flaps and gear...small areas you don't normally see in screenshots. We expect to wrap up the 3D fairly soon and then will turn our focus to unfinished programming tasks, gui and documentation to round it all out. We're moving along fine. TomK1 point

OK Im going to be fairly busy this weekend but here is one last shot.....I will start doing a video series as we get closer to a release, but if you look at this image the clouds are traveling from left to right across the screen due to the wind. The clouds will elongate into rows just like the real thing. I actually saw this recently since I stare at the sky more then I should nowadays...1 point

It works over top the default lighting system, I guess you can say it enhances it......Here is one showing how the rays will go around an aircraft....1 point

A few quick quotes from our beta test crew thus far (remember, a number of them fly the real deal!): - I LOVE that the AP is so accurate to the real thing. So good. - Wow guys, what a detailed model! This is a lot of fun for a nuts ´n bolts and systems freak like me. - I finally have had some time away from the real aircraft to sit down and fly this one. First impressions are that it is an incredible piece of work. The replication of the systems and the actual cockpit are amazing.1 point
