Hi Devs ! Some comments, questions or wishes for the future of this project. Why can't I check the oil level when the engine's starboard-side cover is removed and I click on the oil-cap ? Nothing happen then. The sound of wheel-rolling (crackling, bouncing effect) is very disturbingly loud to me, and this effect is such as the wheels are rolling on stones even if they were rolling on grass or asphalt. It's like on the original plane ? It would be better to have a quieter, more neutral effect, I think. It would be nice to see some smoke or flame from the exhaust if possible, if we have already a nice effect like oil is dripping from the engine. And it would be a good option in terms of volume and sound effects if I can choose to fly with or without wearing a helmet, as is the case with all A2A aircrafts. It would improve a lot in life fidelity. And lastly it would be good some rain effect on the windshield, because I didn't see it. Maybe I want a little too much ? Despite all this, Thank You for this great simulation ! I think there are very few bugs in the first release compared to other developers.1 point

Hey there zkalos! Yes, you should be able to remove the oil cap with the right cowling removed, so rest assured i will look into this phenomenom closely. The sounds of the aircraft's wheels rolling through paved or unpaved surfaces do change a little bit, and since the floor panel is close to the ground, rocks and shock absorption from the tailwheel do make quite some noise! In fact, if you taxi with the flight stick pulled towards you, you'll even be able to hear the constant contact sound that the tailwheel mechanism makes when being forcefully dragged across the ground. About smoke and flames: I implemented a custom smoke system on startup, actually! When you start the engine, the amount of smoke the engine will produce is directly linked to the residual oil that makes it through to the cylinders. This depends on wether or not the engine is warm, and how long it has passed since the last flight. After startup, it's no common for the engine to smoke, or release flames. There are videos showing some flames coming out of the exhaust, but i investigated and found out they were using experimental fuel on the Ranger. The original type of fuel that is recommended by the manufacturer does not produce such effect (which i wish it did, because i wanted an excuse to model this, too!). I totally agree there could be an option for wearing a helmet or not, which would muffle the sounds. This will probably be implemented in the near future! The same goes for rain effects, both visual and auditory. I decided to not use Librain effects since they are too heavy on performance, so i'm currently developing my own technique for this. Thank you for your kind words and suggestions! I hope this answer was able to give you some comfort. Respectfully, Dan.1 point

@giaco Oh. As you said you had the same issue, I thought you were also on a Mac! I'm amazed that your very highly specified PC is only seeing 30 fps. However, you are in VR, and that's not an option on Macs yet. I'm sure that the VR setup slows things down - doesn't it? @Cameron Yes. I also think it's a GPU issue, mainly. It's largely the amount of VRAM, but will also be a driver issue. I'm now (at last) running a 2020 iMac (27"), with the Radeon Pro 5700 XT 16GB graphics card, and all my slide-show issues have gone! It will run Coop's Cirrus at 60 fps in Metal, and the PT-19 is also giving me at least 60 fps too. The machine also runs way cooler! Also, no "tearing" when I pan around. I'm even getting 60 fps in dense scenery, like FlyTampa's Las Vegas. With some planes and less dense scenery, I can see 100 fps! Ridiculous1 point

Thank you very much for the quick answer Coop. I was looking in the wrong section. By the way I love this plane and the Mooney too! Keep up this awesome work Cheers Pat1 point

Out of curiosity, what's the reason to NOT upgrade to 11.50? I can't think of a plausible case why this would be!1 point

Thank you for the info. that you will give us a PT19B! As I said above, I am perfectly happy to tinker with and just bimble around in the original version, because there are no distractions! However, I would like to do some online work in this wonderful plane, now and again, which is why I asked for the facility. No chance of doing 1941 on PE - don't worry1 point
-
Hey folks! I knew you online pilots out there would ask for some kind of transponder / radio. There are lots of modified PT-19s, and even full PT19 conversions of other models, like the more advanced PT26. I believe it would be more enjoyable to have a historically accurate version of the bird resting in our hangars, and i tried my best to commit to this vision when developing it, but rest assured i'm planning something that may satisfy your needs. It is my intention to release an expansion for the PT-26 and even the PT-23 (radial) aircraft, and those do have an electrical system among the other quirks that come with them (like IFR capabilities, oil dillution systems, and some other fun stuff!). When i get the backbone of those systems coded, i will release a completely free upgrade to PT-19 owners which adds the PT-19B variation (has a battery and basic, very basic IFR capabilities, along with some radios on its side). Well, for VATSIM and IVAO, i do know you can have a remark stating the time you are simulating, eg: Simulating daylight and clear weather. So nothing stops you from "RMK/Simulating clear weather daylight VFR 1941" and carrying on! -jk, don't try this.1 point

Hey ph-kim! Just seen your threads and rest assured i'll assess all of them shortly Chocks, Jacks, Individual Toe-brakes and the parking brake handle are all at play when the subject is keeping the aircraft from moving. For this reason, since manuals state that the parking brake interacts directly with the toe brakes through the master cylinder, i decided to simulate this mechanical link they have. X-plane's default parking brake system is a bit wonky at best, and i did experiment using it with the parking brake lever. The thing is, if a user has the "Apply regular brakes" command issued, then what X-plane does instead is say "Oh this person wants to brake, just apply 0.2 parking brakes on it, then", and the whole parking brake lever would move, which is extremely annoying (and also incorrect). Now, from the tests we ran, you can STILL use "b" and "v" keys (default mapping) in order to use those X-Plane systems. Other systems that are designed to keep the aircraft stopped in the PT-19 make use of them. About the detent: I did run into some animation issues when trying to implement this feature, that is why it shipped as-is; but i'm working on a way to get this detent right. As for the control lock: That suggestion you offered is exactly how i'm tackling this! Should not be a problem for the next update Thanks guys for your input, me and others surely appreciate it. Why should I "protect" you and your terrible behavior? I am absolutely not going to pretend like you're this awesome person who deserves respect when you come at me or my business the way you did. If you're not learning anything, then that's on you, but something tells me by your editing of comments and suddenly being "fair" (if that's what you want to call your edits), you are learning something. And, that is...I won't put up with you being a total ass of a person. Treat others how you want to be treated. I shouldn't have to educate you on being a decent human with manners. Don't even bother trying to flip this one me with how you feel I should have been when the problem didn't start with me to begin with. We'll see your issue resolved in a few days.1 point
-
Sucks being treated how you treat others, doesn't it? Think ahead next time. This is a good life lesson for you, because apparently you haven't yet learned that people don't need to put up with your indecent behavior. You may not have expected it, but rest assured my toleration for it is non-existent. And, guess what? You sent in ANOTHER support ticket two hours ago after already being warned. That's another 3 days added to your reply time from 2 hours ago. You'll learn...one day. The alternative would have just been you being respectful and already have received a reply. I hope you take consideration into how you're treating others as a human next time.1 point

Your attitude and behavior and attempts to ignore and bypass the standard support waiting times is what's unacceptable. In a shopping mall you'd be having a long attitude re-adjustment chat with the security team. Here, I'll just tell you plainly where you can go.1 point

Thanks for the abuse. Quality customer. Pleasure to serve you. F off.1 point

Hi ifikratis! Nice that you noticed it! Rest assured this is a feature The PT-19's RPM gauge is wired through a set of gears, and those will move in this 50 -50 RPM spasms. Hope that clears things! Respectfully, Dan.1 point

Or you could revisit your respect. You sent two support tickets. How long ago? 1 hour and another 2 minutes later. Then you make this topic 15 minutes later. I don't take kindly to you acting like a child in an outrage that he hasn't received a reply in an hour but trying to make others think he's been waiting for days, months, years. I would help you right now (because this is a really simple issue), but I think you need to learn patience. Because of your treatment of this situation, expect a reply in 3 days as the contact page states. Want to be an @ss? You'll be treated like one then. Next time, reconsider how you approach your impatience if you want respectful help.1 point

Found the issue with the Localizers. X-Plane 11.50b10 changed one element of the localizer nav data encoding (bearing), which broke the custom localizer simulation code in the TBM. Compatibility workaround will be included in the next TBM update.1 point

No I don't understand how you can manage your customers.... seems that you have more time to turn them down that to help them. ... Very good!!! Ill be petitely wait for you amazing support! thank god we have history of all this...-1 points

yes keep fighting with your customers... the one who pays YOUR salaries right?. RESOLVE the F ^%$%^$ problem and move on to your next poor customer. You don't have to have the entire support team (2 guys) wasting your time like this. FIX the stupid problem. Wait!! WHY to fix this ??? .. the customer is an ass #$@# and I hate the customers! Right.. great win for you! I'm mad/frustrated and you are happy and exited = you win!!! - yes you are right !!!-1 points

Oh you are the security team now??? hahahahah You are choosing not to provide support because I was top hard... read you boss comment above. You are punishing a customer because the customer was to hard ??? very very smart. and in you mall analogy, sure. the scenario is that the store is empty and you refused to help. not the other way around. How I know this? because you can spend more time on this madness than fixing the problems. JUST FIX THE STUP PROBLEM.... WHICH IS SIMPLE! read your boss comment BUT NO... they wont do it because I was too hard with them. Poor people! Crying-1 points

You should say thank you! Flip what? .... My edits are legit true. and because I'm not as BAD ass H#%$#$ as you are. I tried and you don't want to move on. FINE! and don't ever resolve anything as you wish. I don't care anymore. FS2020 is finally here to remove all this bug products with terrible support ... so glad! ... You went to a lowest level and you didn't control yourself in front of all the people reading this. Its your business not mine so I don't care. Your name and reputation is HERE for everybody to read...yeah sure the customer was to hard and don't have human decency. Pleeeeasee ...BIG Deal. man up! Maybe my comments did hurt you because you knew its true ... people are waiting weeks and month to get answers ...WHY? probably because you allow to create multiple tickets that pushes this 3 days down and down so you don't have to respond/answer... smart thing right??... its all the customers who create problems not our product/process and policies... You think they care about me??? they don't have a service/product with me but with you smarty. I'm finally logging off of this site!... sure I lost 150$. whatever.... I'll make sure this is goes to the public for awareness. Good by for ever!!!-1 points

I'm editing this with the intention to be fare. Yes, I might pull the trigger too fast with the Bad support comment. But was because many people comments about not receiving support on time... and me trying to play during my weekend. I finally and because of all this, I jumped into FS2020 this weekend. AMAZING! ... although I love my X-plane 11 Ill correct myself here. Bad support? No, I don't know that because it was the first time interacting with them. Seems they have 3 days response time. I got a quick answer thou Difficult to get answers? Same as above. I never engage with them BUT when I did ... read it by yourself Installation verification always fail? Yes. and this is frustrating. But nothing with support yet. In fact I always avoid to contact support because I know how that is. The site encourage to purchase? Yes, but I guess that is normal. I was able to get a NEW/Same product I already purchased without a glitch but reinstall/crashes/rebuild PC etc.. is difficult panful and need support. The bad experience is with the the self installation/activation/email etc... My overall frustration was with the product activation / forums / documentations for self troubleshooting... and then this support. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very Bad support. Difficult to get answers, installation verification fails all the time.... This site encourage to purchase with no support ??? Really bad experience! ... the worst part is that they are getting trap with their own security policies and us with product not be able to use. This represent a LOT of affords and TIME to get a simple installation to work already paid more that 100& on products i cant use Revisit your support model....-1 points
