I really can't say; it might not be SkyMaxx Pro that is really your bottleneck, but your graphics settings or some other add-on. There are just too many variables.

It might just be something specific to the weather conditions at KPNS at the time you were flying; perhaps visibility was too low for the clouds to appear. Can you try some other locations, or see if setting up weather manually works? I don't see any indication of a problem in your log. SkyMaxx Pro does not work with Metal, but you said you had Metal disabled (note you have to restart X-Plane for changing your Metal setting to take effect)

In general, a faster CPU should allow you to draw more clouds further out.

Nevermind. I removed XPUIPC 2.0.5.9 and installed version 2.0.4.8. Now the throttle works. By the way the dataref setting you referred to ixeg/733/hardware_overrides in no longer called that. At lease not in 2.0.5.9.

Hi mickham, unfortunately - not yet. I also run 4k and I consider this to be the optometrist part of my medical before I fly! No, seriously - it is on the list of stuff to fix. Fortunately one only has to "lean in closely" once or twice during a flight to use it. But yes, it is too small on 4k! Cheers, Jan

Fyi, we increased the time between lighting strikes by 50% in the new 4.9.6 release.

The 5700XT runs X-Plane quite nicely. That said, SkyMaxx Pro would run smoother rather than look different. Also keep in mind that SkyMaxx Pro is compatible with OpenGL only on Mac. Metal will not be supported due to limitations beyond our control.

The M20 is not dead. That is for sure. We have a very large update in the pipeline involving new FMOD sounds, new 3D model, and new textures, and an updated flight model. This update will be free for all existing customers. The updating for this plane is tricky as it requires a lot of different elements to line up to release the update (being three different variants), hence why it is taking quite a bit of time. The biggest areas that need (and will get) improvement are, for transparency: 3D Model/textures: It looks like the screenshots, it needs improvement (and will get it ) FMOD: Has some weird glitches and issues. This is going to be fixed in the very short term. Flight model: Nothing too major, just calibrations are needed to adjust for 11.40 and 11.50. We are working as hard as we can, both on this update and our other projects. Hopefully this gives you a good idea of what status the M20 currently is in (and where we are planning for it to go!)
