Hello All. This post will be locked as its only intended for public statement. While many people are aware of the IXEG Development status, many others will not and so this post is intended to provide clarifying information. For a while now, IXEG development has sat relatively idle. The reasons for this are multiple and have been stated in other forums; however, two significant factors contributing to that idleness have since wained and IXEG are looking at how to best move forward with IXEG updates again. There are two areas we are looking at for updates, 3D cabin/doors/animations and the FMS. Regarding the FMS, IXEG are looking at transitioning to the XP1100 Navdata format, which is derived from the ARINC 424 standard. Moving to this dataset format would yield increased accuracy in the representation of procedures and more practical data with which to improve LNAV / VNAV / performance caclulations. If it turns out that porting our code to the new XP1100 format is too cumbersome in the short term, then we will seek to patch what we have now and transition at a later time. The important thing is that IXEG are moving again to improve the FMS. Regarding the 3D, this will be a bit more of a undertaking. The development tools IXEG used for 3D development are nearly fully deprecated and there has been a major transition to newer tools and methods. This necessitates IXEG reconfigure our source material to the new formats and we have a LOT of 3D material to translate. This means that the 3D updates will be longer in coming than the FMS updates. Once the 3D is ported to the new tools though, any updates we implement thereafter would come much quicker, simliar to what was done shortly after our release for those that recall. We apologize for the idle time and appreciate all our customers and any patience you've exercised. We are sincerely committed to making the most immersive and accurate simulation of this aircraft as we can and will continue to push towards that goal, no matter where its end may be. -Tom Kyler6 points

Computer viruses don't catch fire. How many updates were you expecting within 3 weeks? The vast majority of developers publish 3 updates in as many years. And you're considered lucky if you get THAT many. The TBM we made is coded to ignore that tickbox (Start with engines running) because of it's complexity. Once you go through the included tutorials, you can start it up in less than 1 minute. To get the covers off, just open the maintenance manager, visible off to the left hand side, and click on each spot where the covers are. Another 10 seconds of clicking. And that's only if you put the covers on when you flew the aircraft last. (All this is in the manual, by the way. Hopefully you read it, because it took a little bit of effort to put it together). The other method is to do a virtual walkaround of the aircraft, and click on each cover. They simply disappear. We made this aircraft to operate like the real world counterpart. That includes covers and flags. When you calm down, feel free to come back here and ask any questions you like. I'll be more than happy to answer them for you. Alternatively, as Ben suggested, the Carenado TBM 850 might be more suited to you. Regards, Goran3 points

Hey Ripsnorter. Just stick with it , you WILL get the hang of it. You post made me chuckle because I was the same as you about 6 weeks ago. You gotta read, watch videos, ask questions and plain just figure stuff out. At first I broke it every time I started it and now I'm loading flight plans and flying approaches. It's fun to learn and rewarding when you get it. Amazing plane!2 points

The very first contact is just pure joy! Even on my very capable machine (i9 9900K RTX 2080Ti 64GB RAM NVMe SSD) some aircraft can decrease the FPS - the Pocket Rocket is extra-smooth! I just barely had the time to take off and witness how powerful and nimble this beast is, but I'll get back to it as soon as I can. The visuals are beautifully detailed and the PBR use is nicely balanced (which is not the norm with the recent releases - the mighty TBM from Hot Start being one of the rarest exceptions). The customized avionics are also very well done and that synthetic vision is a great feature. The sound feedback on the buttons is also very welcome - especially when you don't use physical buttons. I'm now craving to get more flight time with that beauty! Congratulations to TorqueSim (and X-Aviation)! That very first release will probably be my weapon of choice in addition to the superb TBM 900 - different use and complementary (for my own use of X-Plane). Happy exhilarating flying2 points

Never mind! After round of clicks on fuel control I got it! Gotta bind it for my TM!2 points

Coop thanks for the quick response. Yup that was the issue. I disabled the xgs landing plugin and the plane plugin loads now. First time I have seen this problem with an aircraft. Not a big deal I can leave it off for now.1 point

Re: 1- Possibly! I will add that to our development list Re: 2- Already on the list1 point

Hi Goran, I didn't know that, I always do it through the maintenance manager. I tried the walkaround now, and touching doesn't do anything... I'm sure I don't have the right touch ?1 point

Treated by Armorall in the factory. Thanks for the compliment. Hope you enjoy.1 point

Okay for tail wheel, I know xplane handle that in a bad way since start so I can understand you have to work on it to make it work well. I forgot to write in my post before, there was 15knt wind - FL150 , so normal condition. Thanks for support, log and screenshots asap.1 point

They're available in the afm subcategory in your commands: (just guessing - I didn't test) (also… beware of the true mystery……… ^_^)1 point

It's ok, Ray Just remember there are always people around who will help you. But keep in mind... we're regular people who sleep, eat, spend time with our families, but we always come back here to see if anyone needs help. We can't always respond IMMEDIATELY. Regarding the engines, like Cameron said...it's simply not possible due to the systems complexity to start with engines running. Call it an X-Plane limitation. If it were even remotely possible, we would look into it and maybe add that option.1 point

If you want to get acquainted with the Pocket Rocket before release, the manual is available online! https://torquesim.com/pocket-rocket-manual/1 point

Hi Jan - I've tried activating the AP immediately upon takeoff then hitting LNAV and VNAV, and it seems to do better...past couple of flights have gone OK. With VNAV, I've found that if an attitude is listed as 20000A, the plane will not descend unless I change it to /20000, and do it for all "A" restrictions listed, the plane will recalculate to hit those altitudes on descent to follow the profile correctly....more testing/flights to come! Thanks, Jim1 point

Thanks for reporting this. I completely forgot we do custom rendering for all the arrows in the tutorial mode. I'll extend the renderer there to support VR as well, now that I know how to do it1 point

Can confirm issue is fixed when the AOA indicator is flipped down, i can live with that for the time being. Great plane and i'm amazed how often this gets updated, great work everyone involved!1 point

Yes, it can be.. If you go to the RXP forums > Xplane > GTN > Sticky thread along the lines of aircraft panel integrations, think the Saab is on page 2 from memory.1 point
