  1. [Real time & real weather on VATSIM] Cloudy, windy and rainy afternoon at Dusseldorf, Germany [EDDL] On short final runway 23R after a dozen of altitude, heading and speed instructions from Dusseldorf ATC. Judging by the transmissions on the frequency i would have to fly some holdings if i arrived minutes later... lucky me! Seconds after we're told to hold short of runway 23L, this A320 becomes airborne in front of us

  3. Normally after entering the flight plan you should : * check the flightplan with the map selection on the EFIS and see if there is no discontinuities...... * Check that the contraints in speed and altitude for each waypoint is respected ( check your airport chart). for you point B, you should have checked the altitude on the airport chart and entered it in the CDU in the leg page, if the chart doesn't provide any altitude contraint for WPT B, just dlete the altitdue and the FMC will recalculate a new value between FL 070-FL060

  4. Colin, Good news! After lamenting about your prognosis, I decided to determine if my perceived frame rate problem source (HP scenery) might be in error. It was. My planes were unflyable not because of the scenery load on my computer's VRAM limitations, but because of poor USB connections between my CH yoke and pedal hardware and my computer. My yoke and pedal hardware is about 8 to 10 years old (I've been flying X-Plane since version 4) and I live in a salt air environment near the ocean here on Oahu. After cleaning my USB connections with a electronic spray solution and re-calibrating my controls, I took off and flew around Molokai, Maui, and Lanai with nary a problem and great views. Attached are some screen shots of Molokai's north shore area and my rendering settings. Sorry to have given you some angst with my earlier e-mails and thanks again for your prompt response to my concern. Looking forward to downloading your Kauai and Oahu island scenery packages when you get them completed Aloha, Paul .

  7. I would, but LGAV is not a custom scenery. Its a one of the detailed airports that are getting implemented into the sim.

  10. this is a known issue introduced starting 1.0.4 to fix another issue (disarming autobrakes automatically when pressing manual braking during landing). For now set the autobrakes to RTO once you are ready and aligned on the runway no longer requiring braking for takeoff. this will be fixed on the next updates.

  12. Hi Tom, Jan and I discussed and agree that you indeed found a glitch here which will be taken care of in the next patch. The 733 can capture the GS from above, but many operators don't allow it and therefor require their crews to use VORLOC to intercept the localizer and to select APP once established. This currently works fine, provided the roll channel has gone from VORLOCARM to VORLOC first.

  13. Yes - as you can also put in your own "numbers" from the scratchpad into the V-speeds, the FMS thinks you want to put the string "FILE SAVED" into the V-speed and rejects that. Only when the scratchpad is empty does the FMS know that you are trying to simply "accept" the suggested speeds. Jan

  14. Normal Thrust reduction altitude is 1500 fts AGL unless you have to perform a NDP

  15. Colin, As you suggested, on my subsequent flight test,I set my Texture Resolution to Extreme High to see the results. I've attached three screen shots to show the results. All were taken flying along the North coast and South East end of Molokai. On the one shot you can see Lanai in the distance. Your HP scenery of the islands makes a world of difference in the simulator experience. Mahalo (Thank you), Paul

  18. I think that the payware Tu444 by Ramzzess i.e.. Roman Berlin was for some time available for free on the org, but it is just bellow $20. It works in 10.40 when you update the SASL plugin by hand if they didn't it on the org. You are welcome, Remi

  19. Since no one else answered, IMO, I find the saab to be a much more satisfying product...with continued support and more updates coming. With regards to systems modeled in the Jetstream...I'll let someone else that's more familiar with that aspect address it (never flew it enough to care). Neither products have an FMC, if that's why you asked about an IRS.

  21. That's right. The EGT rises when air is consumed. That's why we are adviced to wait 1 min with elec on before activating bleed air especially on cold day's.

  22. Hi, Just so happens that I recently made a video of an APU start and generator connect.. however I wasn't specifically looking at the EGT gauge, as these crappy movie stills will probably tell BEFORE generator connect: AFTER generator connect: Doesn't look like an EGT rise to me.. rather the opposite. Probably EGT still stabilizing after start. Ken

  23. Tried taking out one video card. that didn't help. Rolled back to v3.0. it works fine. 3.1 works too. something from then on is causing my system to act up.

  25. I Find SMP good for non airliner business, but when you are up in the sky, I prefer to have clouds as far as possible (if the weather dictates it) and not only a little square around me…

  27. You're the only one reporting the problem. That makes the problem your hardware. Fun game huh?

  28. Yes, it was obviously a gross simplification. If you look at error % rates there is only one fix. The user doesn't want to participate.
