  1. Thanks for the credits - but quite the opposite is true! Since I tend to operate the plane the way it was intended, I don´t cover the way that 90% of our customers will use it. They don´t know or don´t care for the proper procedures, limitations and system behaviour. We have to get ready for a myriad of support questions like "you guys forgot the mixture lever!" and "wtf, I can´t find the ignition keys!" Few customers will really know or take the time to learn how to operate this plane, and we want to see where our model is showing faults. This is why this second round of beta-testers will focus on people with no real 737 experience. We already know that this plane behaves correctly when flown correctly - now we want to find out if it behaves correctly when flown by Kerbals! Cheers, Jan

  2. As amazing as this 737-300 looks and as much as I am looking forward to it, I don't understand this rampant impatience and obsessive compulsive desire to have updates every five minutes. Let's put it in perspective, it's a series of 0s and 1s that will be squeezed down a cable to your computer so that you can simulate being a 737-300 pilot. You will receive nothing tangible, nothing physical and all the while it continues to be perfected, the world turns and life goes on. When the day comes for it to be released many of us will buy it and many of us will certainly enjoy it immensely but it will still only be a small part of our day to day lives (or at least it should be). In short, there are more important things in life.

  3. Actually, no, not really. At least not here in the US. Airport security is laughable. It's an ineffective inconvenience on the passenger side and it is barely effective on employee side (yet very easy to bypass). In the U.S., security very much needs an overhaul. It's amazing that we haven't implemented more effective means of preventing unlawful entry to aerodromes/aircraft, but I guess people like the idea and look of security rather than actual, effective security. That's not to say that it is necessarily easy to unlawfully enter a ramp, but it sure could be made a lot harder, and it should be made a lot harder.

  4. "Ground? Is this ground? Hi, can I get some gas and, um, a pushback truck over here at um... gate... um..." "Does your mom know where you are?"

  6. You're saying my keys for my car won't work? Damn it, I was really hoping you would implement that

  7. +1 We know they are working hard on the plane to release it. Nothing more to say. Just wait and fly on another plane in x-plane or play another game... If you have other area of interest in life, so go out and enjoy real life...

  8. There's no winning here. I have seen SO many complaints on X-Plane related groups about all the beta shots going out for the x737 and lack of release. We are not going to start doing this. At some point you have to realize the aircraft still looks as has already been shown. Short answer: won't be happening at this stage!

  9. Yesterday, Cranfield University were running some engine tests on the retired 737-400 that BA donated to them. Quite an impressive noise when I went for a walk at lunchtime, made a change from the Cessnas buzzing around!

  10. I was wondering though, if they have a closed group of betatesters, maybe they could lift the NDA for them so that they can post some screenshots from their test flights? That would keep all of us happy (and our mouths shut) and meanwhile the team could peacefully continue working towards releasing the plane. Just a thought.

  11. Do you want to be part of something special? Important? FUN? and most of all full of flying in a 737-200 Sim using all reall working parts!!? If yes, then join me and fellow other sim enthusiast in World Flight 2016 this coming November 6th through the 12th in South Bend, IN. It is for a great cause and I guarantee you that you will have a blast and hopefully learn more about this awesome hobby. You can fly the whole 7 days, just one afternoon or any combination in between. We will be having workshops as well that will teach Interfacing techniques, wiring, and grounding, programming Arduino, SIOC, and many other options. I have room for a few folks in my home and there are many hotels close by. If interested, please let me know asap and I'll pencil you in but please note, I need solid commitments by September . Also this is a group effort! Team USA #1 is based in Florida and uses an FDS based Full 737-800 so if you are closer to Sarasota Florida please join them in this great cause! I am starting Team USA #2 in South Bend, IN . 5 mins north of KSBN Any questions please feel free to ask and spread the word! Thanks! 16. In my opinion the VNAV is the soul of the fmc, it has so many calculations, variants, considerations. No aircraft available on xplane as of today has a working, solid predictable and realistic VNAV featured FMC. All them fall short on predictions, last minute flight plan changes, etc. I am not blaming developers, we are talking here about an extremely complex piece of software that takes boeing lot of people full time to improve and develop for decades and they never stop.
