  1. Hi David, that is correct. You "could" use the DH window (as many people do it) and set it to "200", for example. This would not be a legally correct procedure, however, as the call "minimums" would sound wheneve the radar altimeter measures "200 feet" - which may not be when the plane is actually 200 feet above the runway threshhold. Imagine there is a steept drop-off or a hill right in front of the runway. For the CATII approaches with it´s 100 feet minimum the terrain in front of the runway is carefully charted and the RA value in the charts is adjusted accordingly (it may be displayed as RA 95, for example). For the CATIIIa the radar alt is always 50 feet, as the plane will be above the runway at that point (and the runway is flat). Jan
  2. There could be a variety of contributing factors, especially descending in MACH speed after passing the normal MACH/SPD switchover altitude. MACH will stay constant, but IAS will rise rapidly while descending (into warmer air)... Jan
  3. Thanks, Tim!
  4. mfor is right. If you shoot a non-precision or CAT I ILS approach, the callout "minimums" will (should) come from the pilot not flying/pilot monitoring. If you shoot a low-visibility precision approach CAT II/IIIa the minimum will come from the set DH. Jan
  5. You should use the orange bug on the altimeter to set a mimimum descent altitude, like 2540ft (non-precisicion and CAT I ILS approaches). You would set the bug to 540 feet and just memorize the "2". The DH window is only used to set up a Descision Height, which is a height above terrain, for CATII and CATIIIa approaches. These descision heights are typically ca. 100 feet for CATII and exactly 50 feet for CATIIIa approaches. Cheers, Jan
  6. If you have a gizmo softcrash, you must reboot the scripts or reload the aircraft. If you can consistently softcrash gizmo in 1.1 we would love to see how you do it so we can fix that problem! Cheers, Jan
  7. Yeah, I had hoped that this would be fixed with another fix I made, but it is still there...I added it to the bug-tracker. For now you can circumvent this by pulling out the "manual N1" knobs and setting them to the required N1. Cheers, Jan

Maybe a re-installation would help, making sure to install everything into the intended folders. Or maybe something went wrong when you tried to adjust the .acf file to make the airplane work in XP11? Cheers, Jan
  9. And this problem will be reverted for the next patch, too.
  10. XP10 as well, I believe. Jan
  11. For all you nosegear-door lovers out there: And for all the night-owls: Cheers, Jan
  12. This will get fixed for XP10 users with the next update. Jan
  13. Drive generator temperatures have been slated for improvement for a while now - not sure when we will get to that. Known issue, but thanks for reporting it anyway! Cheers, Jan
  14. Airline pilots are pretty much the same...
  15. There are no plans to do so at this moment, but we are not ruling it out, either! Cheers, Jan
  16. The inner nose gear door is of utmost importance to the whole IXEG team, and especially to me. It is without argument probably the most pivotal area of the whole airplane - and we had to hold off until now to really texture it well and do it justice. Thanks for your patience! I have spent way too many minutes lingering near the inner nosegear door during my outside checks... one time the First Officer came down to look if anything was wrong, just to find me staring at the inner nosegear door with that dreamy smile on my face. Needless to say, we left late that flight. He also stood, admiring the beauty of it, until the ramp agent walked over to ask if we could finally get going. After we explained sheepishly, he couldn´t help but see our point, so the three of us stood and stared for a few more minutes. I later asked my employer if I could go ahead and launch my own (pay to visit!) website of "www.nosegeardoorsinside.xxx.com", with some really juicy pictures of that looker of a nosegeardoor, but they said no . I am happy that someone else is sharing my affection with this - often overlooked - very special area of the aircraft. Jan PS: I can´t believe that the 737.org is not even featuring a section about the nosegear doors!! Slackers!
  17. Here you go: Jan
  18. Hi Ian, thanks for bringing this up again - we simply did not have the time to investigate with you on how to incorporate this yet. Our lead FMS developer is still busy with another project, so his contribution for 1.1 had to be limited to the bare necessities in fixing the most blatant bugs. We will certainly get in contact regarding this in the future. Cheers, Jan
  19. Just off the top of my head, the takeoff config warning will sound for: parking brake set trim not in green band flaps not at a takeoff setting (1, 5, 15) spoilers not all the way down (don´t "arm" them for takeoff!) Cheers, Jan
  20. Hi Austin, that is really odd - usually this happens when the "idle values" are not adjusted via planemaker - the engines idle so low then, that advancing the throttle is just "choking" them and they won´t rev up. Can you post a screenshots of your enigine instruments at idle thrust, please? Thanks, Jan
  21. Hi and thanks for the nice words. If you post in this thread, which is aptly named "ixeg-737-in-x-plane-11-how-to-get-it-work", I trust that you have read the first post and followed the instructions given there? Just want to make sure before I spend the time to dive deeper into the problem you still seem to be having. Cheers, Jan
  22. Hi Chris, thanks for that elaborate report! You are right, the most obvious stumbling block for VNAV is a complex set of altitude restrictions, and those become more common all the time, with airspace getting more complex and crowded. We have a pretty substantial rewrite of VNAV in mind to be able to handle that confidently. Cheers, Jan
  23. Thanks for the report! Jan
  24. I hope you are not saying that the Captain´s head is ugly in any way? Seriously, something went wrong with your installation or registration - so your scripts are not running and the 737 is not functional. Cheers, Jan
  25. Hi Sacha, thanks for your feedback. I agree that lighting levels in desktop flight-simulations are not fully recreating the experience you get in a real cockpit, but I don´t think that is actually possible with todays technology. But of course we will consider your input in further development, Cheers, Jan
