  1. Generally, we don't comment on other designers work. We are confident that the quality of our aircraft is good enough to stand it's ground nicely on it's own. Besides, our view is that the more other quality aircraft there is for X-Plane (freeware or payware) the better for everyone. The real competitors are other platforms, and we hope that both the x737 and IXEG 737 will help attract more users to X-Plane -> which again will attract more designers... etc.

  3. Dedicated support for more advanced hardware like multiple thrust levers, flap levers, speed-brake levers and other cockpit hardware. Very eager and interested to make it work eventually, but nothing tested (might work, might not) for V1.0. ..are the engines now separately controllable with saitec-powerquadrants?

  4. Thats because other aircraft (that I know) do not have an accurate engine model like we do. The 737 will start to roll once you release brakes, unless you are very heavy or uphill, just like the realone Also BE AWARE that we have an accurate thrust reverser model, so if you forgot to set the autobrake, you'll have a handfull stopping the aircraft after landing

  5. That has more potential to do harm than good from a brand/marketing perspective. We're going to have to continue to listen to customers to find the happy medium on a deal like this. Cramming the UI with more options definitely isn't the answer!

  7. Morten, at the IXEG website we can see some pictures of the nose wheel which are extraordinary well designed with lots of details. But I´m also curious about how the actuators, wirings and other stuff beyond the spoilers (when spoilers are deployed) are designed. Same for the wheel well. Just a picture and placed in the wheel well to fill, or is it actually designed with 3D items? Possible to provide a picture of these two items?

  8. Nothing yet. I have an external programmer for this one, and he needs to make a living by other means while working on this in his spare time. It was originally going to be a "lite" product, but after the add ons we've put out so far, it's going to be procedural. Full system simulation.

  9. The last sentence of this post is all you really need to know. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/72313-noaa-weather-plugin/&do=findComment&comment=1013058 In short, Laminar has lightly touched via public comments that global weather data will soon be available in default X-Plane 10.5. Look for more announcement on this very shortly. Joan is somewhat telling you he knows more than what's been publicly said, and in not so many words...NOAA will be rendered essentially redundant once this happens. Until Laminar releases more information, I can't speak for them OR him. Even this aside, I believe we have now found a way to force this to work even with NOAA prior to X-Plane 10.5. We're still testing this, but it's likely to work.

  10. Good question! I checked the handbook: "Immediate initiation of reverse thrust at main gear touchdown and full reverse thrust will allow the autobrake system to reduce brake pressure to the minimum level, thus minimizing brake and tire wear and keep brake temperatures in the normal range. The importance of establishing the desired reverse thrust level (approximately 80% N1) as soon as possible after touchdown to minimize brake temperatures and tire and brake wear and to reduce stopping distance on very slippery runways cannot be overemphasized. Since the autobrake system senses deceleration and modulates brake pressure accordingly, the proper application of reverse thrust will result in reduced braking for a large portion of the landing roll." In the 747 the brake pressure is a function of groundspeed and measured by the IRS and switching off the IRS disables the autobrake. Perhaps the same in 737, I don't know.

  11. Very cool. I don't fly any aircraft with a FMC, and never have. I'm an old school pilot that still revels in VOR to VOR with DME equipment. I've looked at the freeware and payware FMC's that are available for XPlane, but they all seem to have some issue or another to contend with, so I've avoided them. After watching these videos for the past few months, this is the bird that is going to drag me kicking and screaming into a modern(ish) FMC cockpit. I can't believe I'm going to be joining the button pusher club ;-] Lastly, I really like the fact this aircraft is a transitional aircraft. One that still harkens back to the steam gauge era cockpit, but hasn't been transformed into a full blown flat screen filled office cubical. Very cool that this is the last preview video before release. I've tried to glean as much operational info from these videos, so I'm really glad you are going to make some tutorial vids after release. I'm usually a wait and see buyer, but this will be a first day purchase for me. Thanks for the effort. It's about to payoff for the team. Tim

  12. We don't really have a final word on this for now. The only promise for the moment is the NavDataPro from Aerosoft. If things change we would certainly communicate that at the appropriate moment.

  14. Technically, thats not quite correct . Just like the real weather radar we depict radar-energy returns. Radar energy will be reflected by liquid water (rain) and by the solid ground (in varying strength, depending on the reflectivity). There will be a tutorial video that shows how to use the weather radar (overscanning, underscanning, ground returns, shadowing, etc.) Jan
