  1. TBH, we can't fully blame them (I'm one of them with the MU2) ....we've been 'crossing our fingers' for a while that XP12 doesn't break our radar display....and the spectre of such still exists. Its like two people walking towards each other and that awkard moment where neither is sure which way the other one will move and you kind of stutter-step....a lot of devs and Laminar are doing that right now IMO. We've gotten lucky in a way that we haven't had to do a darn thing to 'get around' the new weather system..we happen to select a method that has held up thus far..but it is based on the previous weather system pardigm....and as such, we are always 'looking over our shoulder' at it so to say, in case is sneaks up on us one day All that said...I do think the time is coming where it needs to be addressed. There is a XPlane developer conference in February and I suspect this will get discussed. -tk

  4. I was going to post this same issue. When I first load a plane now that uses Gizmo (including the G500 on non X-Aviation planes) I get a huge cpu draw from Gizmo. My cpu frame time goes from 0.200 to 1.500 for a minute or so. Eventually it settles down and Gizmo shows about 0.10% usage in the admin window. But then every minute or two it goes back up to 50% usage for a few seconds before settling back down which causes stutters. I've tried this with the 737, Mu2, BN-2T and the Laminar 172 with G500. I bought both the 737 and the G500 at the same time so not sure which one triggered it. My system is old, i7 4790 and I have a 5800X3D build I'm completing tomorrow so I'll report back if it continues with that new system. Prior to this week I never had an issue with Gizmo so did something update it on the 737 or G500 purchases? Btw my tests were done at various locations including Land's End which is usually very light (I get 60fps in the stock 172) just to rule out scenery problems.

  6. Hi Steve, When you are happy with the state of the plane, save the state. You can even save a state after each step, and restart frome here. If you start from a different airport, untick "Restore position and trajectory".

  7. Well, it's the right place to post when it comes to the Challenger. It would help us to help you if you outlined the steps you did to achieve this. Sometimes, a step or 2 can be missed, even when following an instructional video. There's a shutdown checklist. But as a last resort, have you tried creating a new airframe? Why? You can leave it installed, and then come back to it. There's no reason to uninstall. This is a hobby, Stefan. Try to treat it as such. Set aside a block of time where you can try to enjoy it. If help is needed, we're a few keystrokes away. There are many videos that go over many different areas of this add on. Particularly from Reflected Reality Simulations. Very highly recommended. The product page is very clear with regards to the complexity of this add on. It's not a difficult add on to get into, but it is complex and extremely detailed. If it's going to get you this frustrated or annoyed, I suggest you take a small break and come back. There are many people willing to help you overcome any obstacles.

  8. It looks like the cockpit door is open in your picture? If it isn´t, then the camera position should govern it - we have to "fake" the cockpit door blocking the light because the lighting engine in X-plane does not allow solid structures blocking any light besides the sun (and even that not always). So we "fake" the door blocking the light by checking wether the camera is in the cockpit AND the cockpit door is closed. If this is TRUE, we turn off the galley light (even though the switch is actually ON). But if you move the camera out of the cockpit (like in your screenshot), the light goes back on and will illuminate the cockpit a little bit.

  10. Too easy! Anybody with access to the 717 willing to help..or a friend of a friend of a friend with access.....please hit me up in PM. This is well into late 2024 at best...737 comes first so i won't talk 717 much. Its just out there waiting its turn....but I reserve the right to work on it nights/weekends It doesn't quite work that way...besides, interior mostly done anyhow. The 'standard' is the standard. Immersion is a huge part of the product and many customers enjoy it all around. Lots of folks like replay mode from the cabin etc. Once this interior is done, I won't have to worry about it and can get back to the FMS and such. -tkyler
