We're not opposed to these types of tools / features or stuff, its just a matter of not knowing if/when we'll get to it. Of course we want it all. And compared to other products, we have a whole lot of essential features they don't have. Between a CG/seat thingamajig and a FMS that doesnt' give me "invalid entry' for every other button press....I'll take the FMS. The CG/seat feature can wait.3 points

Norway Pro scenery has been released recently (freeware, go grab it!) and so i thought it'll be good opportunity to dust off the excellent Reality Enhancement Pack for C210 Centurion while exploring. Started off at Skagen [ENSK] and did a short hop to Narvik [ENNK] just to get a glimpse of the scenery and refresh my skills flying REP Cessna (with manual at hand). Haven't seen much of the Norway Pro scenery on this route i decided to make 180 on the runway and head for Bodø [ENBO]. Casual VFR at 5500 feet using Google Maps + AIP Norway (i rarely do VFR in the sim) Unbelievable how easy this REP/Carenado masterpiece trims out. I did not touch the autopilot once during 2hr+ flight. Once i got to Bodø i realized landing this thing on a 2800m long runway is not best of what Norway has to offer. Why not head further south to a mysteriously named airport of Mo i Rana [ENRA] ? After having a quick look at Mo i Rana charts i started tracking inbound Strømmen [sTM, 345 kHz] NDB. Surprisingly i did not kill the engine yet. Nor did i destroy flaps, gear or anything else. The LOC-B approach looks very tempting. Why not switch IFR and see if i can handfly non-RNAV approach today? Soon enough i was climbing to Minimum Sector Altitude (6300 feet - when arriving from the north sector). Still tracking Strømmen NDB as it is our Initial Approach Fix (IAF). The closer i got to Strømmen, the more turbulent air i had to fight. Focused entirely on the instruments i was able to maintain 6300 feet +/- 50 feet all the time, but i was out of time to do a full approach briefing. Turning right on outbound leg after passing Strømmen. Descending 5000 feet according to procedure. Established on the localizer inbound. Strømmen NDB is being used once again, this time as Intermediate Fix (IF). Next, Final Approach Fix (FAF) is 6.6 nm DME RA at 3000 feet. Reaching Minimum Descend Altitude of 1310 feet. The funny thing is you won't be able to see the airport until reaching Missed Approach Point (MAPt) - the DME station itself. Then the airport becomes barely visible on your 9 o'clock (!!!). If you wonder why i didn't take any shots on short final, grab Norway Pro + UHD Mesh Scandinavia and try shooting approach into Mo i Rana yourself3 points

And TBH...I'm looking forward to adding more features. It won't end with release, I assure you -tkyler2 points

We don't create add ons that are half done, but in the case of the Garmin, our customers were screaming for something they could use for online flying (SID's and STAR's). An FMC would have taken at least a year to develop. The Garmin was the logical choice.2 points

Lower right hand corner is a dropdown for various altitudes. Clicking on the various selections above that gives you different views, like pressure, clouds, snow..... etc. if you click on a particular location.... like a storm, for instance, you will get a pop up offering you detailed information for that location. Drilling down even further (scroll with mouse and mouse wheel) you will see individual airports and can get even more information. (Or even easier, just type an airport ICAO under search) Have fun! https://www.windyty.com/?29.306,130.957,31 point

You have been helped several times via e-mail. The last being last night. The continual forum posts of nonsense need to stop. If you have further issues take it to support tickets. No one here can help you with anything of this nature.1 point

PMDG been in business what? 18 years? We've had weather radar since day 1....they just got it into the NGX when? several years after release? Other major manufactures...you can't even "lift" the flap lever out of a gate........Do you really want to have a pissing contest over "feature X" or feature Y"? We'll be here all year. Noted that you like that feature and you want it. -tkyler1 point

That is good info Jerry. We'll see about getting it implemented at some point. We have discussed implementing more comprehensive 'options' at some point. The info is not lost on us. Thx. -tkyler1 point

On EFIS planes you have the option to select "v bars" single cue or "cross hairs" double cue flight directors, at least in all the EFIS systems that I have seen. The change from single cue to dual cue flight directors is accomplished by pin programming down in the e&e compartment. In fact, most options such as altitude callouts and T-arrangement instruments (such as the Southwests' 737NG) are accomplished this way Every airline will have a preference in this regard and normally the entire fleet will use either a single-cue flight director or the cross-hair arrangement. This is correct as far as the screens go - I think that the sound of the breakers working is pretty much "instantaneous" as soon as the switch reaches the "end" position (they are toggle switches). Our level-D simulators have this wrong. There is a slight delay for the activation of the breakers, and it always threw me off when using the switches. For a second you go "oh, something is not working"... We haven´t modeled the screen blanking so far, but we might do so for release, if not then will do it later. I think it is a neat effect that shows the significance of transferring the powersource... Jan1 point

Looking at this cute little Saab, one might wonder where it's been to today? First it went to Frankfurt-Hahn, Germany (EDFH) Then it flew to Salzburg, Austria (LOWS) Before calling it a day at Warsaw, Poland (EPWA)1 point

We have no idea really. We are on the final stretch and working very hard. Every FMS page shipping in V1.0 is in place and we are calibrating our VNAV performance calculations. I would remind everyone we are sim consumers ourselves and we make no decisions we ourselves wouldn't be willing to live with as consumers....and we want it as right as we can get it given current constraints. Doing so means years of satisfaction instead of 'days of frustration'. and March is no good for me, I'll be out of savings by then.....earlier actually -tkyler1 point

Todays flight consisted of a LFPG-KSFO (Paris-San Fransisco) flight, using a United Airlines 767-300ER with Winglets. This is a real flight, and is one of the longest 767 routes currently in service! Takeoff from Paris! A nice cockpit shot over the North Atlantic Coming into SanFran, note the skyline in the background On the ground, seconds away from being at the gate, with her bigger brothers and sisters1 point

Enhanced my Delta Livery by adding the logo on the belly. Delta Air Lines is slowly adding belly logos to their aircraft! Showing off my Swissair Livery, grab it on the org! And two nice cockpit shots for you!1 point

I've added a third computer to my pit and some new monitors but I cannot find the cockpit forum, if someone can find it and move this, that would be great. Cockpit now has 3 computers, 1 hack for master, 2 PCs as slaves, the 3rd bolted under the desk. A chair out of an old dodge with a 300 watt subwoofer sealed in the base, a mac mini for XHSI, and an iPad for various view commands. All the buttons and the Saitek Panels are programmed with ControllerMate software, and all planes have they own .xjm file with appropriate dateref for each command, so all buttons, switches and axis are the same across all aircraft. Makes X-Plane hard to walk away from..1 point

Night shots does not necessarily look good when viewed on the forums (against bright background) but i'm amazed everytime i hand fly approach or taxi in X-Plane's darkness. Sitting in a dark room in front of a ultra panoramic display with TrackIR the immersion is unbelievably good. Been pushing 767 around lately, both on VATSIM and IVAO. Flying real-time means a lot of shades of grey at this time of year here in Europe. Westbound - catching last rays of sun that day on a climb out of Prague, Czech Republic (LKPR) Short final runway 23R at Manchester, UK (EGCC) Finding my way in the maze of taxiways at Manchester Final runway 18R at Amsterdam, Netherlands (EHAM). Surface wind 210 degress 21 knots (up to 45 on approach) PH-OYI resting for the night at Schiphol gate F91 point

Good points all around. Again - there is wing flex on the real 737 (although less than on other aircraft). We might add it later as development resources become available, it´s just not the highest priority for us (and this is clearly a point where opinions vary ). Cheers, Jan1 point
