  2. What " YOU " need you meant I admit I never understood the fascination of people to fully computerized airliners ... but real piloting, I mean in real life are done in small plane or twin regional turboprops ... Have you ever wondered why real life airline pilot are soaring gliders and doing flight aerobatics over the week end ? To keep a good feeling about piloting, cause during the week they are only programming FMC ... Anyway, it's a matter of taste but you got the 777,CRJ200,A320,747, incoming IXEG 737, EADT 737 and much more I forgot, that are complex airliners, and we have only the BAe, Q400 and the Saab ... We are X-Plane, not FS, so maybe we should balance the aircrafts per category instead of filling teh airliner category and leaving others empty ... Especially as turboprops holds a very important place in real world aviation !

  10. There is the freeware Mexicali (MMMI) available in the file library of this site and soon, Taxi2Gate will bring some of their sceneries to the X-Plane world. I am working on Acapulco (MMAA) which most likely will be freeware but not for sure.

  11. No offence meant to those involved, but this "accident" concurs with what I've heard about aviation in China, from an instructor who currently teaches in Canada, but has been involved in teaching in China, Thailand, and other Asian countries. There is a lack of skill when it comes to hand flying, too much emphasis is placed on gluing your eyes to the instruments, and flying everything like you are in solid IFR. A gust of wind lifting a wing, in other words, a pilot that cannot compensate for either a crosswind, or a bit of light shear. Its a shame these incidents occur, but they are totally preventable...

  12. Welcome to X-Pilot As has been stated, the first addon you should buy is the SAAB... even if you like jetliners. If you need any help with what addons to choose from, just say so, and I'm sure many people would be willing to help! It's actually a pleasant surprise to get new users coming here, instead of the org. Anyways, enjoy your stay! Edit- I've actually never heard of a C421 before.. G/A has never been my thing. I just looked it up, and there isn't one that I know of for X-Plane currently, but one that kind of looks similar is the Carenado C340

  13. Rest assured, it is about 5x more complex to operate the DCS A-10C compared to even a real 737. I have spent a lot of time with the A-10, and whenever I don´t fly it for 2 weeks, I have to start over learning the systems and controls from scratch. It is a nightmare in ergonomics, not quite as bad as russian hardware, but close. The 737 is made to be easy to learn and fly and not to give you a tough time when times are tough (unlike some more "modern" passenger airliners ). Jan

  14. Because your comments were logically silly. You said 80% of people won't be able to operate (how do you even know that) it, and that IXEG will frustrate "sunday simmers". My point of post is quite clear: The number of customers developers like IXEG are targeting far outweigh that of "sunday simmers" (a group of individuals that IXEG is surely NOT targeting). PMDG has been around for a very, very long time. I don't think those people keep returning for every product they churn out with frustration in their mind. Obviously they're doing something right, and as we have seen, complexity sells.

  15. Quick, someone call PMDG and tell them they're doing it wrong!

  16. Just to make it clear, the highest priority in this project is making this aircraft as realistic as possible from a PILOT and ENGINEERING point of view. In plain text that means that any real 737 pilot should feel right at home sitting in the pilots seat and everything in the cockpit should look, feel, behave and sound as expected and the aircraft perform as it should. Like the big real simulators. To us this is the what makes the basis for good flight simulation, and we will make a minimum of compromises and as few loose ends as possible in these areas before any release. This is also because the systems complexity we expect a majority of "bugreports" to be user error, so if we release too soon it will just slow down the development process chasing ghosts and spending time (which we don't have a lot of as you know) on customer support. As for everything else (like what the big real simulators don't have) - gaming perspective "nice to have" category bells and whistles - it is likely we will release before all this is complete. M

  17. Ok....Here's a few in-progress shots just to feed the hungry and prove our time is well spent. We are texturing and adding detail in the cockpit and cabin. There is still some programming to be sewn up though so we've a few months yet...not sure how many and I won't say because I don't know. We move steadily and you can see form the exterior/interior shots we're are plodding along. We are absolutely insistent on maximum immersion visually and audibly and it just takes a while. 18. Well looking at their product line whatever they decide to produce as their entry level to X-Plane it will be only good to have another quality plane maker into The X-Plane marketplace
