you and me both. Still working on it every day (except weekends...really need my mental breaks)....there's just tons of little details to tend to, especially with lighting control and tweaks. I just finished swapping out all the old exterior lighting with the new V12 lighting yesteday, so that's the latest thing I worked on. Still moving down the punchlist. -tk4 points

Hot Start has released an update for their popular Challenger 650 aircraft, bringing it to version 1.7. The update includes several new features, bug fixes, and improvements. Here are some of the highlights: Two-Pilot Shared Cockpit: The update implements a two-pilot shared cockpit feature, allowing multiple users to fly together in the same aircraft. A quick start guide is provided to assist users in setting up and using this feature. X-Plane 12 Support: The Challenger 650 now fully supports X-Plane 12 on all platforms. Users can enjoy the enhanced features and performance of the latest version of X-Plane. VHF COM Frequency Format: The update ensures that the VHF COM frequency formats now require the leading '1' digit to be entered. However, omitting the decimal point is still allowed. Descent Advisory: If the flight plan does not contain suitable descent constraints for the FMS to anchor a descent, the FMS will provide a green "DES" circle on the flight plan and a "DES ADVISORY" in the MFD VNAV window. This is an estimated point for starting the descent to reach 1,500 ft AGL at 10 nm from the destination airport. Removal of Custom Atmospheric Model on X-Plane 12: The custom CL650 atmospheric model has been removed for X-Plane 12, as X-Plane 12 now implements temperature effects on altimetry natively. Temperature effects are always enabled in X-Plane 12. MIC Selector Audio: Even if the monitoring pushbutton is deselected, the MIC selector will enable audio for the selected radio. Users will still hear the audio from the radio if the MIC selector is set to that radio. HUD Improvements: The HUD FMAs (Flight Mode Annunciators) will no longer display the speed target for FLC or the FPM target for VS, as the real HUD does not show them. Display of Secondary Flight Plan: When the CDU is on SEC FPLN (Secondary Flight Plan) pages or related paths, the on-side PFD (Primary Flight Display) and MFD (Multi-Function Display) will show the secondary flight plan on their map displays only. These updates and improvements enhance the functionality and realism of the Challenger 650 aircraft in X-Plane 11 and X-Plane 12. Users can download the update from X-Aviation to enjoy the latest features and fixes.1 point

I downloaded the new 2.0 updates for the BN-2B (reg and turbo). Thanks for this.. it is appreciated. A small thing... I do not have/use RealSimGear stuff (G5 and G500), but the install package included both versions in my system. I went to the menu, and it displayed 3 choices for the Bn-2B-26 and 3 choices for the BN-2T Islanders. Looking at the icons, it is not really obvious which is which. (if you linger, the tooltip will display the highlighted ACF file) I really don't have a problem with this.. it just clutters my selection page, for no good reason. What I did was remove both G500 folders and all the G5 files in each plane and stored them in a TEMP% folder. I gained 3.48 GB of space on my SSD, and my selection noew shows one of each BN-2B (reg and turbo). No big deal for me... but some users may need all the space they can get. Perhaps the installation should ask the user if the use: 1- G5 equipment 2- G500 equipment and skip the files that are not needed. Just a thought. PS - Both models look and fly great. Thanks again.1 point

This is conciously done this way and I don't think we'll be changing it. Your suggestion is essentially how it was done before, and maintaining four installers for various scenarios (BN2B, BN2T, G5, and G500) gets very complicated not only for us, but also the customer should they later want those options. I won't bore you with all the scenarios a customer could get "stuck" in with regards to all of this, but I'll leave it at the fact that this is a much cleaner solution to many problems. That said, you bring up a good point on not being able to discern which is which, so we should probably make that more obvious in the icons.1 point

there is an experimental version here https://blog.x-plugins.com/2023/02/gizmo64-version-23.html But it's unsupported and if anything doesn't work and you need to revert back you'll potentially have to reinstall aircraft that use the Gizmo plugin to ensure they are running the expected version1 point

Latest Gizmo is installed when you install your addons. There is no new one just yet far as I know.1 point

Looks awesome, can't wait!!! best lighting that I saw in XP12 so far....1 point

not very likely no. The cockpit texture, being the center of attention and in view for the majority of the time was optimized quite well for 96 DPI monitors IMO and still looks good......assuming a reasonable camera distance from surfaces. Also, since we did this work way back when, before Substance Painter was a thing...it'd be a massive undertaking to try that. Of course if you put the camera quite close to a surface, there will be 'jaggies', but philosophically, I'm not in that camp. I'd rather optimize performance for the 95% use case (pilot-ish viewpoint +/-) rather than the 5% use case (peruse 3D closeup under a microscope after buying). -tk1 point

Really beautiful, but I'm afraid of FPS in the new version. I loved the 733 in v. XP11 for its excellent performance (FPS) and smooth simulation ;-)1 point

It's a major re-write of code to get it properly working in 12, and that work continues. We will e-mail all customers once this has been released.1 point
