  1. it sounds good Frank, and is naturally what any end user would want...less wait time. Feel free to form that group and give it a roll! Seriously though, I could write several pages of why that doesn't work because after 20 years of this, we've seen just about every form of development configuration. In a nutshell, people are the problem... individual goals, life situation, monetary requirments, time availability, individual skill, and relative perceptions of their own value. These factors rarely align for the good of a team effort. I will say that every developer capable of developing complex aircraft have their core code library in place for reuse, that's not the bottleneck. Until one has tried building one of these things, they don't realize the staggering volume of details that go into it. Just today I'm modeling "clip rings" that hold the divider curtain between first/economy. We have a saying....folks don't notice the details, but they notice when they're missing....and there's always one guy...."the color of the anodized aluminum legs on the seats are unique to Lufthansa only....and they're not brushed, they're electroplated...so your texturing is wrong"......thanks man.....you're the best! The longer straw isn't in the coding, its in the 3D, texturing, lighting and now FMOD sound, which is not very reusable. I always get a kick of reading the "airplane development notices" on X-Plane.org and all the starry-eyed folks who have learned how to make 3D objects and believe they can build a complete product. The number 1 thing (IMO) that would help speed up production is an "insider / collaborator". Someone who has regular access to the aircraft...can touch it....take pictures...put a tape measure all over it....play with the systems. This isn't always a pilot. The perfect "resource" for us devs would be a "pilot / mechanic" team for any given aircraft, who can answer questions on very short notice. That would definitely speed up things on new projects. I'll be asking for such folks soon after the 737 V12 release for two future efforts. Super Hint on one project....any Delta Airline mechanics / pilots here who are flight sim fans? hit me up on PM. -tkyler

  2. We only wish it were as simple as this! In all seriousness, this has been a fairly huge undertaking. Every day is a little closer though!

  3. I'd love to! Whats happening now is simply a matter of "what we are able to do nowadays" increasing the workload. I've been working on the cabin/galley texturing for some time, but with the lighting features we have and such, its just a domino effect. The cabin, especially, having both ceiling and window lighting modes and a combo of the both has been a real challenge. Add in the emergency lighting and it adds another layer. I've been sitting here for weeks saying, "as soon as this cabin texturing is done, we can finish the punchlist and release".....but the results are so cool (IMO)....because I'm a huge fan of visual immersion...I just keep going on the details Darn these video cards and improvements in real-time 3D effects. -tkyler

  4. don't hold your breathe on this one! A configurable panel is practical when you have differing "presentatations" of a given configuration...however, each of the Moo variants have differing, underlying equipment options that must be set in the ACF file and are not quite suitable to reconfigure the panel dynamically in sim. I simply can't see the ROI. -tk

  13. Problem is resolved. I upgraded my PC. Not because of this issue, just because it was time. Gigabyte Z790 Master, I9-13900K, DDR5 ram, new SSDs. Plane loads and flies fine now. I don't know if it was the hardware, or a new install of Windows 10. But I'm flying now......

  16. Aircraft for XP12 slowly start to appear here and there. Some developers who stay close to vanilla X-Plane features (i.e. aircraft purely built with PlaneMaker and not or hardly using plugins, e.g. VSKYLABS) are mostly done converting their fleet. Light turboprops are a bit thin at the moment - only Thranda's Caravan so far, no PC-12, no King Air - but HotStart is working on their TBM, and TOGA will port the Mu-2 v2 in the months to come. Not sure about any King Air, AFL might upgrade theirs, but no official communication as of yet. Aerobask is (mostly) done converting their fleet (all Diamonds, but also their experimental jets and the Phenom). Indeed it's a bit odd we see airliners of all sizes being ported, even the HS Challenger (maybe one of the most complex aircraft models ever built for XP, potentially any sim) has been ported, while there's hardly any GA (piston or light turboprop) available yet (Aerobask being the exception). Quite a few are in the pipeline - TS is working on their Cirrus aircraft and the Islander, and vFlyteAir has the Twin Comanche in beta test. JustFlight and Thranda both said that converting the JustFlight fleet would be the next big project of Thranda after having finished the Caravan (which has happened by now), so we might see some motion there as well. Also LES had announced the Sundowner would come "soon", but that was nearly 5 months ago. That being said, so far we have more announcements than aircraft converted and ready to fly in XP12, and also XP12 itself is anything but mature. There are still a couple of issues Laminar has to solve (and yes, they're aware and working on it). I's say it's no mistake to wait until the end of the year, if stability is your primary goal. XP12 is really cool, but it's still mostly for early adopters who like to (or at least don't mind to) tinker with their sim. Back to topic: I'm not biased about aircraft class and size, I love them all. While I have a thing for light turboprops (gimme a PC-12 in XP!), I mostly fly in XP12 these days, restricting me to aircraft available there. In the past week, I had a blast flying the Challenger from Shemya down to Fairmont in British Columbia, via Anchorage and Pasco, WA. I mostly fly in FSEconomy, so I just fly where the (virtual) jobs take me. And while the Challenger is a great aircraft, I can unfortunately only fly it on weekends - it's an intense aircraft, and performing a flight (including planning and preflight) takes its time - more than I can spare on normal work days throughout the week. On these I did a couple of milk runs with the Caravan, which is relatively quick to set up and get airborne. For the summer I'm eagerly waiting for the LES DC-3 - this will be my go-to aircraft for my California routes in FSEconomy, with KNUQ serving as my hub.

This is a livery that seems to be a variant of the Bombardier House Colors liveries found for both the Challenger and Global series, main difference of course in it having blue features. This livery is based on an IRL aircraft with tailnumber "T7-AIR". It has been made for the HS CL650 version 1.7. This livery is derivative work, and (with permission) is heavily based on user -Paul-'s splendid work on his orange and pink stripe liveries. Recommend you check out his work and drop him a thanks! Without his foundation, i don't think i would have started this one.

  29. LibRadio is a plugin that properly computes signal propagation and handling of LOC/GS signals. Libradio relies on OpenGPWS to compile but acts as a standalone plugin. It greatly enhances the realism of radio signals by properly computing the signal masking and signal strength. It overrides the default radios but requires some updates in the MU2 to properly be integrated. I have it compiled on my system and the AP loses APPR functionality. One major draw back to using the default handling of nav signals is the downwind ILS case. If flying downwind with the ILS tuned but on the departure end of the ILS Xplane will provide a guidance signal for the opposite runway effectively rendering BC approaches impossible. https://github.com/skiselkov/libradio https://github.com/skiselkov/opengpws
