  1. Good morning. I downloaded the SR-22 G1000 Beta for X-Plane 12 from my X-Aviation account last night and attempted to install it. My first attempt failed after the installer had downloaded the core files and was attempting to unzip the package. It reported that the destination folder (in my case "D:/Gaming/X-Plane 12/Aircraft/X-Aviation") didn't exist or was not writable. The Airplane directory in my X-Plane 12 has correct permissions (and other aircraft have installed without issue). So I manually created the "X-Aviation" directory and tried again. This time, the installer was able to finish the install. So I fired up X-Plane and attempted to finish activating the aircraft so I could take it for a short test flight. When I load the SR22 I get two errors. One reporting a missing file (".../TorqueSim SR22TN/objects/EFFECTS/SR22_IVS_IN.obj") and one reporting an issue with the sound bank (".../TorqueSim SR22TN/fmod/SR22TN.snd sim/flightmodel/failures/prop_ice"). Soldiering on, I dismissed these errors and attempted to activate my license but was met with the final error (which I concede is a Gizmo error): In case the red text gets munged by the jpg compression, it reads: "251 .580 http API call_back: function handle:: 6: [string "core/utils_api.lua.gfys"]:113: stat(x) failed: (D:/Gaming/X-Plane 12/X-Aviation)" I've tried deleting the install and re-installing to no avail. Any suggestions on additional steps to try would be appreciated.

  2. Thank you both. I was able to get the activation error cleared up by following @Pils advice. I've also joined the Discord so that I can keep on top of further beta announcements. Thank you for the help.

  5. The TBM has persistent state tracking of the aircraft and requires you to treat it like it were your own real aircraft. If you leave things in the wrong state (like your battery), you will have drained it in that few week window you discussed. It tracks that time, even when the sim is not running. You may want to check the Maintenance Manager, or create a new airframe in the Airframe Manager.

  7. How’s your engine oil quantity? If you’ve been flying the same Challenger airframe a lot, but not replenishing engine oil it’s likely the reservoir is low. You can access the engine oil replenishment system window through the ground services menu. Instructions for how to use it are in this video:

  8. Nose wheel steering only controls the nose wheel up to 55 degrees of deflection. When steering is not engaged, the nose wheel can castor up to 99 degrees each side. If the nose wheel is deflected further when the “NOSE STEER” switch is set to ARM, it will not engage and the CAS will display an amber “STEERING INOP” message. In order to recover nose wheel steering, the nose wheel must first be brought back within 55 degree deflection. This can be achieved by taxiing forward a bit. Steering can then be engage by cycling the NOSE STEER switch to the OFF position, then back into the ARM position.

  9. That left me puzzled yesterday as well, nose gear was rotated at a 90° angle with no apparent way to rotate it from the cockpit (that extreme castering might have been the result of parking brakes not set correctly during engine start, plane went into a spin for me...). The way I fixed it after reading this thread like 5 times was to just set nose steering off, and apply some slight thrust while slowly releasing toe brakes (I might have used differential braking as well) to start moving in the direction the gear is locked at. If you observe that situation from an outside camera the nose gear should slowly come back into a 0° forward position as you start rolling. It just took a few meters to realign the wheel. While still in motion try to arm nose steering again. It took a few attempts but I eventually regained control. Once the steering is active the tiller will also no longer be "jammed" but visibly move according to your input.

  10. Is your bleed air panel configured correctly? 14th stage bleeds needs to be open.

  11. A note to people here: Do NOT drag files from X-Plane 11 to 12. Always do a fresh install from your installer if you want future updates to go correctly. This is a classic case of not using the installer to place the product in v12.
