  2. Hello all! I've been wondering if anyone here will make a nice looking 777, FlightFactor's rendition was comprehensive in the systems, but not so much in visual accuracy. This is my first legitimate aircraft project, It will have a few short comings in terms of detail (but my aim here is to attain the highest level of modelling accuracy), I used Hiroshi Igami's 777 (from POSKY, they're now TDS) as a base, then redid the engines, wings etc and remapped and retextured any model thats used. UPDATE: I scrapped most of the modelled redid the aircraft, starting with the most popular choice at the moment: 777-300ER, check latest post for latest images! One thing about 777s that I like is the wing flex, and FF unfortunately didn't simulate that very well. My wing model is sliced into 7 sections to ensure a smooth and almost-seamless flex. The landing gear also is sized correctly (hehe) and isn't a 200ER landing gear (theres no wiring and no cantilever system in the front). Yes it's going to be freeware, it's a learning project for me, a project launched after being dissatisfied of FF's 777, and also learning to animate. Without further ado, here are lé screenshots for you to feast on. Many thanks to: Jeffrey Chen: for his help advising about animation Goran Matovina: for advising me about the fan blade animations (stuck on it for days) Hiroshi Igami: for his model, and continuous assistance and support in this project ____ Possibly released under Aerobridge Studios.

  3. You need to pressurize the hydraulics to get the brakes to work, its that simple. No hydraulics, no brakes (if the cylinder is depleted). Jan

  5. As for #1, I actually consider it a feature. The ability to precisely control the pushback tug with the tiller is great, because the simple "nose right/left" option would almost never get me on the taxiway line.

  6. Don´t enter the PLAN fuel. It is only entered very rarely if the pilots want to check out the performance of the plane before the real fuel is loaded onto the plane. Once you enter a PLAN fuel, the FMC will not take the real fuel on board into account. So in short - NEVER enter the PLAN fuel (we allow it to be entered because the real plane does it, but I have NEVER entered the PLAN fuel in 10 years of flying the 737). Cheers, Jan

  8. For what it's worth, the rate at which the rain falls is based on real physics and the terminal velocity of real raindrops. People tend to fly with wider-than-natural fields of view, which can create the illusion of them moving too slowly.

  10. Please make sure cabin night lighting is implemented. No cabin lights is a major turn-off for me when flying at night. Also did you manage to fix the "no instrument approach causes Gizmo to soft crash on short final"? Also the "switching STAR has a 50/50 chance of a soft crash" (as mentioned by Yofi) is a major problem as well, if you're not planning to fix VNAV in v1.1.

  11. Correct, that won't work. The problem here is that user hardware does not typically have (user defined) detents and you have no "feedback" to determine what position the lever is in. Currently, the Saab throttle levers use the entire range of the throttle axis to go from full reverse to full throttle and this cannot be split up or modified with keystroked or buttons. I will make note of this "feature" request and do some research on what we can do to better accommodate user hardware. No promises at this point. In addition, this type of feature would only be implemented as something "new" for the Saab v2.0.

  13. Is that it? That's all that's needed to make it cozy??? Some dust and a few scratches on some used leather seats? Gotta be faster than that, Radek. I did that (and a lot more) months ago. Note: Some mesh shown is not accurate and has since been fixed. Disregard the "shine". That's a specular issue that will also be fixed, depending on how it looks with the exterior around the seats and cockpit.
