  1. Hi everyone, I would like to share my (somewhat emotional) own personal farewell to the 737 I flew for 10 years here at Lufthansa. I started out as a First Officer in 1996, flying -300, - 400 and -500 variants. Later the -400s where phased out. In 2002 I transferred to the 747-400, and in 2008 I came back as a Captain to my beloved 737. I got to fly it until 2012, when, with the reduction in numbers, I was transferred to the A320 family. Last Saturday saw the last commercial flight of a 737 in Lufthansa service, but the plane has a huge following among "Lufhanseats", and we were not willing to just let it go like that. So together with the 737-fleet administration a plan was made to bid farewell to the 737 in style. Two 737-300´s were scheduled to fly to Heviz, Hungary (the "FlyBalaton" airport) on November, 1st - spend the night there and then fly back to Frankfurt on the 2nd. After that there was a farewell event in one of the huge maintenance hangars on the airport. Here are some pics: Checking in at the airport: A booklet we got and my ticket: Arriving at the D-ABEC "Karlsruhe": Landing/turnoff light assembly: Our head of fleet, who flew us to Heviz: Me getting on board (I hate sitting in the back!): Taxiing out, we saw the second aircraft to follow us an hour later, D-ABEK: Arriving in Heviz, after backtracking we were greated by "water fountains" from the fire-trucks! The Heviz airport: Some detail shots in the afternoon sun: Even the mayor of Heviz came out to greet us (and he brought some local liqueur!) Malev flies 737s (or used to?): After a nice celebration dinner in a downtown hotel, meeting with many colleagues and friends and a whole evening of "talking 737" we headed back out to the airport the next morning. Our two fine "Bobbies" waiting for us on the apron: "Fanhansa" D-ABEK: My old office Departure over Lake Balaton, so lifevest mandatory! And getting off the 737 for the last time :-(((( After we arrived, there was the farewell celebration in the hangar: They REALLY polished good old "Neubrandenburg" D-ABEN: And our CEO and my former flight-school classmate Carsten Spohr had some nice things to say about the 737 (even though he only flew 320s): Finally they pulled the plane out of the hangar in a symbolic "roll-out". The aircraft will be flown to the U.S. over the next few weeks, some of them will continue to fly there. So if you see any of them, give them my best... https://youtu.be/18qiHDDA-DU Good-Bye, Bobby! 2. Ah ok, nice detail. Well rather mentioned something that could be a mistake than missing something out. Just thought it's wierd that you can see the connectors, because you can see here: the mounting metal flap extends quite far back, but i didn't notice that those wires are hanging that low. (btw. that's a wierd MCP config) Also don't get me wrong I love this plane (it's my only Tubeliner where: Flight Hours >= Dollars spend) and i only want to contribute on improving it.

  3. Thank you. I'm truly sorry that you're not able to just enjoy your stuff. I've spent the last few weeks rebuilding DRM to make it more secure. This is a "waste" of time for all of us. Hopefully for XMas I can upgrade everyone to self-managed machines...

  5. looks like this was the reason, I suspect the anniversary update triggered a reactivation of the damn defender... for whatever reason, without any notice. I love MS! planning routes every thing back to normal on the MCDU after forcing Defender to shut down thanks Jan :-)

  8. I'm still trying to figure out who has the better "job." The flight school classmate of Jan's who is now the big boss CEO, or Jan, who gets to fly transport category aircraft for a living. Tough call. Tim

  9. Just do me a favour and re-check your settings for all virus- and anti-spy software. We had instances where people turned off those programs, but then they somehow "revived" themselves... So check with windows defender, avast, anti-vir, etc... This is just to make sure that we are not chasing the wrong rabbit, here. Thanks, Jan

  11. What? The website has not been down. This has also not been down. There's no need for this. Literally no demand. Is this some kind of joke? You shared one of our products. That's called piracy, dude. Don't come on here acting as the innocent party. You know exactly what happened and were informed of it. ------------- The process is simple. Submit a support ticket, don't flood our server with nonsense e-mails from your impatience, and you'll receive a reply quicker. It really is THAT simple. Topic closed.

  12. Wow guys: Just take a look at the great circle distance of this LH B737 on its very special last flight today!

  13. Heh, that seems to be your problem then. This isn't a game. Should wingflex be included? Yes, eventually. But not until more pressing matters have been addressed. Your obsession with this is very peculiar when there are much more glaring issues in the simulation side of things that don't seem to phase you.

  14. Я не люблю вингфлекс! Lets move on, guys! No wingsflex for now.

  15. do you know the difference between a nice-to... and a Must-have? shame on you not having understood what you have in your hands, nobody defends a developer, on my side at least I give my advice to let devs know not everybody is keen on fps killing animations. The interest we have is to keep this add-on free of useless rubbish that would impact its performance. This add-on, unlike others, that cannot cope with systems qualities, does not need any nice to have eye candy animations to be what it claims to be: the best simulated 737 out there!!! it is a master piece as such and no distraction is needed. as many stated, if you would try to master what is in this X-Plane jewel, you wouldn't even have the time to go outside of the cabin to watch "flex", on my side I would not even miss any objects outside of the cockpit... too much to do in the cockpit, but that is just assuming you actually fly this thing and are not touching yourself watching the plane land by itself in Autoland mode. and if you still miss those, I would recommend you take on some other sim/ad-on combination to satisfy your very personal need for aviation-pornography! Have a look at JAR, they do some very nice ones, or the classic FSX/Aerosoft-cartoon-plane-on-the-rails-simulators. But please guys, stop the rubbish about wingflex. There are more important things to fix.

  18. Inboard landing lights and runway turnoff lights you mean? They are round, but in a rectangle frame.

  19. It seems to me , that you all guys have interest in defending you friends developers. We can eat without spoons and knifes too, but I dont think you do this, like we can fly without wingflex. But nowdays it is important to have wingflex. If you dont want it go to Xplane 5 and fly on windows 95. I wonder , why you write something here and make developers never even think about wingflex. Shame on you !
