Heads up, As you have noticed we are a bit on overtime from our last estimates. Main reason was we had to port our code to the latest Gizmo version and finish the FMC. Thanks to great help from Ben R the switch went fast and was successful. The FMC is looking good now, everyone on the team are testflying it chasing bugs and Tom is working hard on finishing the final bits and pieces, increasing stability and functionality every day. We have set a target internal release date not too far ahead which we hope will materialize this time16 points

The word imminent was used a while back but that has since been removed or updated. I do remember seeing the word imminent.3 points

Imminent release posted almost 3 months ago...IXEG, I appreciate your efforts but, you guys look like you do an amazing job at marketing and keeping people on the hook...perhaps you should change your day jobs to writing season ending plots for network TV shows since you sure do know how to keep people on the edge of their seats??3 points

No one promised you anything. If anyone got promises it was the significant others to individuals on the team and their families for taking time away over five years to dedicate to this project. The developers are in debt for this project. No one else!2 points

Or how about we just make the wheels a lot bigger and drive them directly with some sort of combustion engine and a transmission, maybe diesel-fueled, add a steering wheel instead of a yoke, and make the thing small enough to travel on regular streets? We wouldn´t even need airports anymore!2 points

I like Linux plenty. I like Linux users plenty. What I don't like, is working for free. The sooner we can understand this and stop making stupid jabs and puns the better.1 point

Yeah... It's pretty hard to restrain yourself when you've been waiting 5 years for them to release your favourite aircraft and then you get promised it a quarter of a year early.1 point

I have one thing to say. Just be patient. Talking about the release nonstop is not helping.1 point

They said in December it could be before the end of the year or just after the new year. It is what it is. I see it as a good sign that we are still waiting. It means they want to release an amazing product.1 point

That's not the right one, there was another one that said it was imminent.1 point

It looks reasonable, comparing the wx situation. A bit thin on the extent of the cloud coverage. Could be a bit more solid or maybe the puffs to be a bit wider. Just to reflect the wx data. But in general I guess you can pump of the prefs, depending on the hardware specs.1 point

My sentiment exactly. When everyone was peppering Cameron as to when this a/c was going to be released, he replied 'when it's ready'. I defended his reply from the standpoint that it should be released when it is ready to be released, meaning almost completely bug free. As a result I got a bunch of dislikes hence my negative reputation. For me personally I can wait another year if need be. Tired of products being released only to have their forums quickly filled with bug complaints. All these suggestions of 'nice to haves' are great and I look forward to them. They surely have been noted by IXEG and will be added in subsequent versions.1 point

Thanks for the update. I posted the "where for art thou" post at the weekend. I didnt do it to provoke anyone into moaning i was just generally curious. I get your point you will never be bug free or it will take an age to get there but when you release a software product there has to be a ground on which some bugs can be shippable. I find it being like falling down the rabbit hole and sometimes all your doing is bug fixing. Everything more or less has a knock on effect for software and it is a complete bitch at times. But i get what you mean having this forum here helps potential customers to start reading more and interacting as a community but it must be a good pat on the back and motivator reading all the good things people have to say and they havent even bought it yet. Cant wait for the release can you do it at a weekend please so i can use it without losing jobs lol1 point

Yes, they are. The connector is meant to help with that. But that specific issue isn't exclusive to Skymaxx. The default coulds do EXACTLY the same thing. Once new weather situation is injected by the default engine or the plugin like NOAA, clouds are rebaked and everything pops, regardless if you use SkyMaxx or not. Ergo, I see no reason to blame the addon. As for visuals, it's matter of taste, but I have hard time believing someone actually prefers default clouds models. Though I agree on the overcast, I wish it would be much more "puffy".1 point

Do you like X-Plane 10? Do you want to see continued high quality sceneries like this developer is building? If so support this project with your money. This is only my opinion, but I think that XPX has a problem. This platform has so much potential. However we have a freeware first mentality in this community. Because of this way of thinking, XPX has been saturated with garbage. There's a reason why the recently announced LOWI is coming to every platform other than XPX. That's because Aerosoft knows that you will not buy it. No you prefer to use a garbage freeware version instead, but then complain that we don't have any quality scenery in XPX. No FlyTampa, FlightBeam, FSDT or Taxi2Gate for us. The freeware junk is just to competitive. This developer is bringing us top quality with KDTW. I have followed this project since it was announced. I'm writing this in hopes that you will all BUY this scenery so that the developer will continue to support the best FS platform which is XPX. The reason developers continue to support an old 32Bit platform is because the customers BUY it. Yes they give money for quality scenery. Based on these screens I have very high hopes for this developer. And I hope all of you will show your support for this work.-1 points

Was the word "imminent" actually ever used or is that something you're writing up for your own TV show?-1 points

I'm sure it is imminent, that really only confirms that it will be released, not necessarily that it will be released soon. It can mean soon (and even if release is another 5 months out, it's still soon relative to the full length of development), but it can also just vaguely mean "forthcoming" or "in the pipeline." Given that it is in testing right now, it's probably safe to assume that we shan't have to wait much longer, but it could still be a ways from done.-1 points

Can't say. It was pretty clean installation with the whole purpose of having windows for the sake of ixeg imminent 737. I generally fly on linux and made that exception because ixeg doesn't like linux (users) but its addon seems promising :-) In ivao forum some people suggested the problem is related to using xplane in 64bit and TS2 being 32bit Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk-1 points
