  3. And you'll get along even better with more! I, too, dislike the drama surrounding their style of announcements. Which is why I don't really pay attention to it. Doesn't matter to me until the product is released, vaporware until then. Nonetheless, I'm also really looking forward to this release. A well-built DC-6 simulation (even if a DC-6 is not your thing) is a bajillion times better than the alternative of nothing at all...

  4. It's a big deal because they are revered throughout the FSX community. Some developers feel threatened by them, but the fact is, if they continue to bring people from FSX to X-Plane, it will grow OUR community very quickly. For developers who feel threatened, they have to think about the potential customers PMDG brings. As well as any NEW customers Laminar gets from X-Plane sales, which only serves to motivate Laminar to push forward with X-Plane 11, 12 and however more versions they can come out with. This is a very positive step for X-Plane, any way you look at it.

  5. Sales for the DC-6 might surprise people. Without giving out figures, the DC-3 is selling far better than I thought it would.

  6. That's true, X-Plane is not able to show reflections on aircraft. Some suggested that Laminar should implement it like it was done in FSX (i.e. a fake reflection map, where nearly nobody notices that it's fake ...), but IIRC Ben somewhere said if they ever make reflections, they want to do it better. Sometimes I wish for more pragmatism...

  7. I can't really comment on the reflections, but i feel like i have to recommend the flyjsim 732 to you. Back in the FS days i used to fly complex airliners only. The likes of PMDG, LevelD etc. While X-Plane still lacks sophisticated airliners (FF, JarDesign etc. aren't close yet, sorry), surprisingly the 727 along with it's smaller brother - the 737-200 - are planes i find myself spending most of the time with. They don't do proper engine simulation (EPR) nor have any kind of RNAV equipment installed (FMS, GPS), but still do feel most complete. Just yesterday i've "lost" half an hour calculating the weights and required fuel for 727-200F before i took her from Rovaniemi, Finland [EFRO] to Szczecin, Poland [EPSC]. And it was fun! FlyJSim 727 is a fantastic plane and the 737 is even better. And they are gorgeous by the way

  8. Thanks - some of those ideas are already in the works, but I'll have to leave you guessing on which ones for now

  9. Gabriel, Ben is just messing with you so need to get snippy with how long it takes a developer to make an add on. If Michael Chang takes 3-4 years to make a 787, then good for him. We're not really competing with anyone else when it comes to how fast we make add ons. We make them at our own pace and we want to make them properly. To answer your questions, we don't know when the 747 will be finished. But it's safe to say it won't be out until after XP 11 is out. Goran

  10. What a huge disappointment...a DC-6! !!! But at the same time, it has been announced that we did not have to expect a 737NG or something like that. So i guess that we had to expect such an old prop-aircraft. I first thought i would never purchase it but now i think that i iwill brake this rule and purchase it. THe main goal is to support PMDG to invest in the futur of X-Plane. And i hope the next aircrafts will be the "right" ones
