  7. Thank you for having a look at the site. It will indeed be very useful for third-party freeware airport developers as they can quickly populate surrounding villages or towns with buildings and trees (including their own models). I'm guessing it's also much easier to add buildings into OSM than it is to use WED, and then everyone benefits from it, not just flight simmers. It does have a very basic GUI, which just lets you tick a few boxes and click Start. It serves the purpose, but what would be nice would be a proper GUI for editing rules, obtaining areas, etc.. Nobody has offered to help yet, and it's lower on the list of priorities. The alpha released yesterday has a few problems already reported which I'm working on - Which is why it's still alpha I'm going to stop adding more features now and stablise/refine what we currently have.

  8. Use both, then download Aerosoft Free Sky Texture and install the white light included there and it should look something like this (at least if you can match all the settings)

  9. So... I haven't released anything recently, but I have about 10 projects in purgatory that I haven't announced. Tonight I went on a rampage and developed a library replacement package of HD lines to replace the default (awful) lines in XP10. So far it makes every default-asset using airport feel and look way better. I'll be releasing this sometime this week, with a few different colour choices (no sun-dried tomato, sorry). Anyways, here's what I'm excited about. Yes, I (ME) am excited because I've never made anything particularly useful. Without further ado, a screenshot!

  10. File Name: Ilyushin Il14-Rossiya-Russian Airlines File Submitter: Leen de Jager File Submitted: 08 Mar 2014 File Category: Heavy Metal X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 9 & 10 Livery For: Click Here For Aircraft Ilyushin Il14-Rossiya-Russian Airlines livery by Leen de Jager Ilyushin Il14-Rossiya-Russian Airlines by Leen "Flybike" de Jager This is repaint/livery for the Ilyushin II14 made by Felis Leopard. The aircraft itself ( made by Andrey Kozyaruk aka Felis Leopard ) can be downloaded here http://www.avsimrus.com/files.phtml?search=il-14&sopt_mode=or&folder=95&sopt_title=1&sopt_desc=1&sopt_author=1&sopt_fname=1&sopt_comms=1&minrating= This plane can be used in XP9 and XP10 ( visit this post for use in XP10 http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=68242 ) I contacted Felis Leopard and he gave me permission to edit some OBJ-files and publish them. It was a challenge to work on the looks of this bird, adjusting platelines, improving color-matching of different parts etc. Adding normals and more detail brings this bird ,though its freeware now, to payware looks. I hope you`ll enjoy this livery as much as I enjoyed making it. MIND! If you already downloaded and installed the normals and obj files I made for this arcraft, please replace these OBJ files by the ones* wich are provided with this livery. They are better for this livery (and other liveries as well ) . HOW TO INSTALL. Unzip Rossiya.zip to a temp folder. Place the folder "LDJ-Ilyushin 14 Rossiya-Russian Airlines" in the liveries folder of the aircraft. * Place the three files from the folder named "Main-objects" in the OBJECTS folder of the aircraft ( make backup of the original objects folder FIRST) About the propeller: It is not possible to make the livery having a blue-rotating propellor , only the static prop can be included in the livery. You`ll find a file for the rotating propellors in this download.Placing this file in the main directory of the aircraft ( make a backup on the original first) wil result in a blue rotating propellor , but all other liveries will have it too. Better said the blue rotating propellors are optional. Leen de Jager http://www.flybike-paints.nl PS You`ll get the one with the grey wheels !! Click here to download this file

  13. Thank you John I've posted a link back to your site also. Skymaxx Pro has been used in almost all of my screenshots, and has become one of my essential addons for X-Plane, as well as a great tool for posting eye-candy screenshots.

  16. Thank you PilotBalu. France is also one of my favourites, but without regional buildings it doesn't look too much like France (yet). I did try Calais (as I have the photoscenery installed and it's one of my favourite regions in FSX using FranceVFR), and it's very well populated, but the data is imported data and lacks lots of information which make the German stuff shine, e.g. Height tags, colours and even building types. Also, the landclass information I presume was imported from corine, as it's very low resolution, e.g. Residential areas swallow up several towns and aren't actually divided up into industrial and commercial zones. This means most buildings come out as residential, and there isn't a nice separation like there is elsewhere. I also remember Paris, even with OSM2XP was an absolute killer on framerates, but I'll happily give it a try, if my poor computer can handle it Thank you Colin. I'll release alpha 4 to everyone over the weekend.

  17. Another small update. This time on the radios and Garmin GTX. All radios and the Garmin work as per the Collins and Garmin documentation. So we're talking 100% simulated radio hardware. All manipulators for the radios and fine & coarse tuning have been completely reworked and are now click and drag and are much easier to control. These will be added to a future update of the Saab as well.

  21. Development has been a bit slow because of something that is causing X-Plane to randomally crash without warning, but in the meanwhile I've added some more advanced rules, that can be used, e.g. To place random cranes on building sites, and to place random objects along ways and line, which can be used, e.g. To place trees along a way or farm (There are also forest rules which can do this, much more efficiently). Additionally, in the screenshots, real object tanks have been placed instead of circular facades, which looks much better in large works sites.
