  1. My family lives in Indy. Good to see an excellent model of the new terminal in progress.
  2. Mavericks actually has increased memory usage improvements than the previous OS. The "7.99 GB" used, as ktomais mentioned, is not real. The "wired" memory is the real "active" one. OSX stores (and in some cases compresses) application data in case you accidentally close an app (e.g. accidentally close Chrome whilst reading a newspaper article); thus, the reboot time for the app is quicker than opening it straight from startup. There are some memory cleaning apps out there, but I'm not too keen on them as they have the potential to slow your system down and/or break processes. However, what they do well is indicate a better approximation of memory usage. The 15-19 fps is odd and has happened to me before. Generally, a system reboot fixes it.
  3. ADFs tune to NDBs, which are on whole number frequencies, so no.
  4. Looks like Ted's Hong Kong.
  5. Well I know the FF 757 has a deicing truck. I have yet to determine if its deployment affects the wings' icing. As for the actual spraying animation, I have yet to see that anywhere.
  6. Landing in Indianapolis Early start in Chicago There's a reason why the Sandia (Watermelon) Mountains in Albuquerque are named as such... The sloping Sandias Interesting exit from LaGuardia Required over-the-wing shot Landing in Chicago ... about 30 miles north of a potential tornado cell.
  7. No. X-Plane 10's Plane Maker doesn't read the older format in which XPJ's 777s are written. The 9.7 edition is a bridge of the old to the new.
  8. XSB + SMP weather works for me...
  9. Practice, practice, practice. To start with airliners, try learning with a smaller jet. There is a free Eclipse 550 on the .org that has excellent handling. Just do circuits with it. Aim for the numbers and smoothly flare. Learn how your aircraft responds to the slightest yoke/stick changes.
  10. That's the ramzzess 777 Worldliner
  11. Yeah, the Air Driven Generator (ADG) is only used in-air if both engines fail and you can't start the APU. It's used to provide power to the essential bus and the electrical hydraulics (3A and 3B) systems, so you can get on the ground safely.
  12. Yep that's the one. I don't really mind the glitches. What bothers me the most is that the roads are not right on the island. However, to check its conversion, I moved the camera to my former apartment's window is, and the view was very close to reality.
  13. Well you did give us the tools to make it the best, John.

  15. Must have been a general display load issue then. I moved some settings around and things seemed to have cleared up; in facts, things look better than before. Thanks, Cameron, for clearing that up.
  16. All X-Plane related EFBs (Electronic Flight Bags) that I'm aware of are external programs, the exception for being Flight Factor's 757 and 777, where an EFB (simply a PNG image display) is built into the cockpit.
  17. Fallen a bit behind on my photo library, so here's just a few that I really like. The approach into Toronto Pearson is so awesome. ... and departing from and arriving at Vancouver is just breathtaking from any direction. So happy that I finally debugged all conflicts with my CRJ. No more obnoxious crashes! Landing at Montreal Trudeau Using the Realistic Skycolors for XPX by Abdullah Almuntassir in conjunction with SkyMaxx Pro --> AWESOME. Flying from Prince Rupert to Vancouver
  18. Yeah. Today, there's more or less two options: Ground Services (Python Script which uses OpenSceneryX to draw objects such as a GPU cart and pushback truck) or EZPushback (modern version of SimplePushback). At least, these are what I've used.
  19. Ah yes I apologize. I was looking at the -200ER's specs.
  20. No. In fact, the reverse is true: the B77L (777-200LR) is more efficient than the B77W (777-300ER). The B77L has a higher MTOW and shorter takeoff run at MTOW than the B77W. The B77L's engines provide about 100 kN more thrust than the B77W's. Furthermore, the wingspan on the B77W is shorter than the B77L. The B77W is intended for shorter flights than the B77L, which is why it doesn't have the power nor performance requirements of the B77L; its range is about 7725 nm whereas the B77L's range is about 9400 (both at max payload).
  21. OpenSceneryX for skylines sounds like a brilliant idea!

  23. I have a question about the precipitation in SMP. Whenever I get into rainy weather, my FPS tanks by at least 10. From what I can tell, the rain system in SMP is about the same as the default XP rain, but the default rain barely impacted FPS. The precipitation textures are only about 4 KB each, and none of the shaders indicate that they control precip. What does SMP do when precipitation is present? My GPU may be slightly outdated (MSI GTX 660 Ti 2GB), but considering that it runs X-Plane well with very high settings on all fronts, I'm surprised that it chokes on the precipitation. Am I missing something?
  24. Left the Freeworld livery for a bit to fly through some of my favourite 757 liveries (finally bought the FF757... )... Also because we don't have one... yet... Yes I know Northwest never had any 757s with winglets. So shoot me.
