  3. this one's a significant step up from the 777-200LR, though peter's right, the gear compression is way too high, the legs are the right length, but the gears should be compressed more, even at zero weight. Tire size for the main gears is correct, but the nose gear should be a bit larger and closer together. Also, there's cargo doors on the left side, there shouldn't be, and that's about it really, this one really looks nice! for reference, this is a 757 at almost zero extra weight

  5. It's kinda funny to read through it as it's all very outdated information as the website hasn't been edited execpt a few minor notes put in by CERN when they put the website back online to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the web a few days ago. http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html

  9. Ahahaha guys, you might think I am a peace lovin' commercial aircraft pilot! You are mistaken! I was in the 3GO Virtual PLA Air Force when flying lock-on! I had 35 kills in just a period of a year. I've killed around 8 F-18s and now, I am back fighting wars in.....X-Plane 10! "If you are not cheating, you are not trying". Hupp! 10Gs and I lost about 200 knots and the enemy SU-27 stands no chance! Zoom and I am on his 6. David Austin's F-15 reminds me of my old violent days of continuous fighting. My wingman, an old classmate was on my multiplayer LAN server on the DEFAULT multiplayer . We were up against one of our best pilots flying SU-27s. During the startup and initial "scramble". I've noticed the extreme accuracy of the F-15's panel. Air Marshaller? Not existent.... So we scrambled up and our "enemy" was waiting at around 10,000 feet above the deck. I executed an inverted split-S and burst towards the target at around 500 knots. Our primary objective is to intercept and destroy the SU-27 he was in. I got him on firing radar but we are BVR, I armed my AIM-7 sparrow long distance air-to-air and I had a lock on. "Fox Three!" I and my wingman's AIM-7 soared towards the SU-27. He maneuvered his back towards our missile and disabled afterburners. We bit his 6 o'clock hard. The 2 missiles collided... "God Dammit", I thought. My wingman's callsign "Dolphin". So we bit his 6 o'clock and we entered a turning fight, but I know this is no good, no good at all! The SU will beat us hard in a turn. I told my wingman to climb and take "overwatch" while I lure him into a decoy, which is me. I pulled and maneuvered into his line of fire. Dolphin reported a missile lock and I replied "Press", which in essence means "cleared to engage hot". He fired an AIM-9...... "If you are not cheating, you are not trying". Hupp! 10Gs and I lost about 200 knots and the enemy SU-27 stands no chance! Zoom and I am on his 6. He ain't givin up though, I armed the AIM-9 and literally fired all of them. All...Missed..... I went up and sprayed my 20mm cannon and it clipped his wing, he was on fire. He ejected and the fight was soon over. "Bingo fuel"..... We returned to Edwards AFB, the F-15 is a real ace. Pros of this add-on: Excellent cockpit, Loved it. Flightmodel is rather.....too realistic. Weapons are all real I can use real tactics on that russian jet. Acceptable object based exterior model. Nice afterburners Cons: Ugly leading edge using planemaker. This is rated 9.5/10 for me!

  12. Well that was a great response. As well Parker will be the CEO. Horton will be on the board but will be leaving soon I believe. It is quite funny to finally start seeing the American livery on airbuses.

  13. Dear Santa (Chris K), I know its only May 2013, but you have tempted/tantalised/tortured us with some very unique WIP photos of YSSY and surrounds. I am aware you are in the progress of working on a great masterpiece for your heritage country, Canada.. How are you good sir and your team of merry 'scenery' elves traveling with this great work? Look forward to some more WIP photos or releases soon.. As they say: Cheers, Tedd

  14. Its a X-plane 9.70 version, (after airfoil conversion to X-plane 10 ) Fly very nice. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=18623

  15. For the last couple of days I've been doing repeated VNAV approaches with the AN-148. I absolutely love this plane, and it's a forgotten little 9.70 gem. Apparently it also works in xp10 too. I didn't like the lurid blue panel (yeah yeah, I know the Russians built it like that but I don't fly with sunglasses on indoors at night), and re-doing the interior's really made it now a pleasure to fly. Also dulled-down the lighting on the centre panels and arm panels so the main MFD looks a bit brighter. Livery is the X-Air one from the JAR website - http://an148xp.ucoz.ru/index/liveries/0-8

  16. It's US Airways buying American, not American buying US Airways. They are merging and keeping the American name, but US Airways management will run the show. One World will be the alliance of choice. All aircraft will be painted in a new paint scheme, and it has not yet been finalized which livery (either an entirely new one, or the new AA one) will become the brand of the new airline.

  19. File Name: 316 SpaceShipOne - Feathering Beta File Submitter: Hampster File Submitted: 02 May 2013 File Category: Experimental X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 9 & 10 316 SpaceShipOne - Feathering Beta For X-Plane 9 and 10 The Story: In the middle of the Mojave desert, Burt Rutan and his team at scaled composites wheeled out the model 316 SpaceShipOne from its hangar to begin a day that would go down in history. Later that day, September the 29th 2004, WhiteKnight climbed to 53,000 FT with SpaceShipOne under its belly. Inside SpaceShipOne was pilot Mike Melvill, and on the ground below was mission control working to get the space craft up to its target altitude. Time came for the drop, so WhiteKnight released SS1. And after 10 seconds of silence SpaceShipOne fired its rocket to begin its voyage into space. It climbed to 102.9 km (above 300,000 ft) from the earth's surface, and Became the first privately funded spacecraft ever to cross the Karmen line. Days later pilot Brian Binnie flew SpaceShipOne up to 112 Km from the earth's surface, breaking Mike Melvill's record and sealing the future of space travel. The great sir Richard Branson is now creating the new Virgin Galactic space-line, using Burt Rutans experience to create a new pair of vehicles that shall be called 'WhiteKnightTwo (VSS Eve)' & 'SpaceShipTwo (VSS Enterprise)'.* Sir Richard Branson has now set up a new spaceport in New Mexico where you can take off and travel safely for a cheap fee of $ 200,000 USD. *WhiteKnight2 and SpaceShipTwo are for download on the org, made by Voidhwak9. about: FEATHERING BETA - I used inverted objects under a flap actuated dataref to make the iconic feathering system that made Burt Rutan's design so popuar. I then went on to invert the airfoils so I could get the proper drag characteristics, but this meant that I had to supplement the loss of lift with an extra invisible airfoil. The only way to land this version safely is to turn the thermal rate up to abnormal heights. This aircraft is open to the community to tweak with, there are many problems with flight and therefore this is a beta version. Included: • Stunning detailed features such as landing gear and flame • Fully customized cockpit • sounds - off the real solid rocket test audio (plus a more realistic wind sound) • User manual, cockpit manual, poster, and an easy 5 step manual for setting up the historic space flight... • ...and a whole lot more! This aircraft can be a bit twitchy in high speeds, this is caused by your frame rate not the flight model. Resources: For a detailed step by step look at the flight in 2004: http://joeschwartz.net/extras/SpaceShipOne/index.htm Scaled Composites: http://www.scaled.com/projects/tierone/ With thanks: Everybody below deserves my highest compliments. Alge2: Note that he has given me permission to re-create his SS1 model, but unfortunately his model had a bug so I couldn't proceed with improving his aircraft. I will mention him for his kindness in giving me the basis to make my own flight model, and his achievements in X-Plane space flight should be acknowledged. ________________ Enjoy flying the highly acclaimed space flight phenomenon, and if you like it, rate it! -Hampster Click here to download this file
