If you're anything like me, then you're still using Photoshop 6, which came out last century, and tend to crash and do funny things on Windows 7. This is an expensive bit of software, so I was quite suprised to read that Adobe have released a number of their older product for free download and use! http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html Sure enough you can downoad it, install it, put in the supplied license...but if you read news articles, apparently it's only for existing customers. Do they mean 'please don't download and use it unless you are an existing customer'? Seems like a giant leap of faith!1 point

Looking promising! Sceneries with default facades and orthos can still look amazing, good luck!1 point

Thanks Kris and Ben! Sorry for being a pain. I did read the previous posts but they are pretty old so I thought there were any pore updates:)1 point

Hi, Cameron posted previously (in this thread) that X-Aviation are basically waiting until the 64Bit stuff is worked out, that there are some stumbling blocks with securing the base code for the MU-2 (I hope I got that correct). I think that they might also be waiting until Ben can finalise the Gizmo updates as well (advise to read the GIZMO threads ).That all said, in my experience with this site and it's products, when it all comes together it will all come together well. All we need to do is to cultivate patience ... which is very difficult I know ... hehe.1 point

I was so into it, that I did not bother. From the cockpit all felt 20fps plus, outside views at 400 / 1,000 ft stopped occasionally for one to four seconds for scenery creation. I had to dial the world distance to low, because loading times were next to unbearable, HDR is set to 2x. Passed very low over NYC... For the same flight southward over Manhattan - with a few building enhancements from the .org I rescaled to 1000px / 220kB - those screen shots are 4.5MB in size and very detailed. Yes, I could have made shots in broad day light with clouds - but this is sooo much nicer.1 point

the only hardware I have (that is enough for me) is the magnificent VRInsight MCP boeing combo2. I made it work with this new update.. but I cannot swap frequencies. But this is not a problem of the jetstream.. is something every plane I have in xplane. I don't know how to fix it for me, because I would like to make active the frequencies that I had tuned before in pasive one. I installed the XPFUIPC but don't work the change.1 point

PilotEdge is a network that offers online ATC, primarily geared towards people pursuing real world flight training, as well as for discerning sim enthusiasts for whom high quality ATC is a "must have" To that end, we are running a series of real-time, interactive workshops covering the practical issues that commonly arise during VFR and IFR flights. The workshops are available to everyone, you don't need to be a registered PilotEdge member to attend. They're a great way to get your questions answered and to walk through all of the practical aspects of IFR and VFR flying in a fun, interactive format. The first workshop (VFR Airspace) was a great success and was attended in real time by ~35 people. A video/audio recording of that event is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1YEKGW0ve8. It was a bit too long, though, so we're going to make efforts to time box the core material of this event to 2 hours. Tue Dec 18: All about VFR! Airspace, practical rules & regs, and chartsTue: Jan 1: Scenario-based VFR flight planning and communicationTue: Jan 15: IFR – Departures DemystifedTue: Jan 29: IFR – Enroute Procedures, decoding enroute chartsTue: Feb 12: IFR – Arrivals and precision approachesTue: Feb 26: IFR – Non-precision approaches explainedThe workshops are held every other Tuesday at 7pm PST (Tue 10pm EST, Wed 0300z) and everyone is welcome to attend via TeamSpeak3 over at ts3.digitalthemepark.com. A docent will welcome you to the server, verify your audio is working, and will escort you to the Workshop voice room. Once the workshop starts, a link will be posted on the TS3 text area to a screen sharing URL that will allow you to see the presentation and charts in real time. The next workshop is tomorrow (New Years day), and is all about Scenario-based VFR flight planning and communication. It will build upon the concepts introduced in the first workshop. Feel free to come along! Note: PiloteEdge ATC service will be suspended from 4pm PST today (NY eve) until Wed, Jan 2. So, don't be concerned if you don't see us online tonight and tomorrow. All the more reason to come to the workshop instead1 point

Here's the video/audio from the first VFR workshop (VFR Airspace): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1YEKGW0ve8 Here's the 2nd workshop (Scenario-based VFR flight planning): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msfxcx3vUsc Hopefully this gives a better idea of what these are about.1 point

Here comes a cockpit shot of the Beaver in XP10. Lighting looks good so far and 3D really comes alive now. This cockpit is still using modern radios with digital dispays on the co-pilot panel, but they will be replaced with older style radios soon. Fits much better to the cockpit. Hope you like the picture....1 point

Coming accross different forums, trying to find out how to get accurate navigation data to be included into X-Plane navdata source, I decided to fork the "official" navdata source and publish my corrections and changes into a github project. http://github.com/mc...-plane-navdata/ The Navigation data used in X-Plane depends on one single maintainer and thus the process of adding missing navigation data (e.g. VOR-DME's or waypoints) as well as correcting wrong data (misplaced airports and outdated waypoints) has to be submitted for review, before being included and released in new versions of navdata. I believe a collective distribution of corrected navigation data in a github repository would be much more efficient than depending on one single maintainer... Please feel free to contact me in case you are interested in including your corrected data and contributing to a more accurate x-plane navigation data source. Happy landing! Luther1 point
