This is a livery for the Hot Start Challenger 650, inspired by N811NC, which was a 601 originally. To install, extract the zip file into the "liveries" folder. You can supply your own registration, N811CL is not printed on the cowlings. The side windows are tinted golden in the ouside view, much like the original plane. The effect is not visible from the inside, and if you don't like it, simply remove the Glass_Exterior.dds. 2. You can create these using: Along-track offset distance - IDENT/(+-)DIST[/NAME] - offset plus or minus DIST from IDENT which is currently in the flight plan Place Bearing Distance - IDENTBRG/DIST[/NAME] - point defined by a distance along a radial from a place Place Bearing / Place Bearing - IDENTBRG/IDENTBRG[/NAME] - point defined by the intersection of two radials from two places LAT/LON coordinates. This can be done with Degrees Decimal Minutes, or shorthand as per the usual shorthand rules. There is some way you can do it using the joystick on the CCP and selecting the point on the MFD map, but I'm not entirely sure how you go about doing that. The Places in question do not have to be VORs, they can be any arbitrary point, including previously defined custom waypoints - I've created downwind, base, and final legs for visual approaches with VNAV planning using this feature. For your example specifically I'd use place bearing/distance. As far as I remember, just enter this in the scratchpad: IDENTBRG/DIST[/NAME] So in your example, if the VOR was ATY, you'd enter "ATY225/50" which would give you a waypoint 50nm southwest of ATY. If you added an extra trailing slash you could input a name for that waypoint as well. Then, once that's in the scratchpad, press the LSK next to where you want to insert it, and then add your altitude restriction on the right side as normal!

  12. @roxmate We appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration. We've all been there as humans. However, I'd like to cover a few key points about upgrade pricing, time-limited offers, and how this practice aligns with industry standards across many different sectors. It's not unique to IXEG, and the cost of these add-ons are not life changing for the value they provide over the life of the item. Heck, you're only just now looking at an upgrade 9 years after your original purchase! I think it's pretty important people treat developers as people trying to live life and consider this expertise as a job, rather than an entitled hobby. Promotional pricing and limited-time discounts are standard business practices. Airlines frequently offer discounted fares for a limited period, but once the sale ends, passengers must pay full price. Should I be upset about this as a loyal customer who flies on my preferred airline and has status with them? The person next to me could very well have paid hundreds less. Similarly, hotels, subscription services, and even retailers like Amazon offer promotional pricing for a set period. If you miss the window, the deal is gone. This includes items you may purchase over and over. Likewise, when tech companies release new versions of software, they often provide early bird pricing or upgrade discounts for a limited time. Once the deadline passes, the standard pricing applies. Microsoft, Adobe, and many others are included in that. When you purchased the IXEG 737 in 2016, you received years of value from it in X-Plane 10 and X-Plane 11. The fact that it is no longer compatible with X-Plane 12 is due to platform evolution, not an arbitrary decision on IXEG's. When you buy a game or software, it doesn’t come with a lifetime guarantee of compatibility with all future versions of the operating system or platform. For example: A PlayStation 4 game does not automatically entitle you to a PlayStation 5 version for free. Some X-Plane developers have not even bothered to offer any discount at all. We did. X-Plane itself has required users to buy new versions (X-Plane 11 → X-Plane 12) rather than getting free updates forever. Loyalty discounts are meant to reward early adopters and returning customers within a set timeframe. Extending it indefinitely would defeat the purpose of having a promotion at all. Companies regularly run promotions with a defined expiration date. Steam and other game platforms frequently offer limited-time discounts, but customers who miss them must pay full price. We clearly communicated the timeframe of the loyalty discount in multiple places, multiple times, and gave ample opportunity for previous customers to take advantage of it. Nobody is forced to purchase the upgraded version. If you choose to continue flying in X-Plane 12 and want the IXEG 737, the upgrade is available at full price (or you can wait for a sale during holidays). While it may not appear all that different to some, the work involved to get the Classic Plus to market and at a proper baseline to what we had in X-Plane 11 was extensive development work, not just a minor patch. Just as X-Plane 12 itself required a new purchase, the IXEG 737 for XP12 reflects long months of work, visual improvements, and compatibility updates. While we do value all our customers, we also value and respect our own time. Our approach to upgrade pricing was carefully considered to balance fairness for both our loyal customers and our development team, who put significant work into this new version. While we understand that not everyone will agree with this approach, it's also not out of line in the grand scheme of things. We appreciate your understanding, and we hope you continue to enjoy flight simulation, whether with the IXEG 737 or other aircraft in your collection.

  15. I've not figured this out yet but it's a problem I want to solve. Possibly it'd be a mod to the KLN90B, possibly to the MU-2, possibly some bridging plugin work would be needed, possibly all three... fact is I don't have my head round how X-Plane's default autopilot works nor how much of it the MU-2 uses. I'm glad you were able to get it working!

  28. I'm usually not that guy, but in this case, don't get your hopes too high. The last progress update (no, not aircraft update, just an update on the update) was in July last year, and since then, the developer keeps radio silence. It's been almost two years since the Moo last got an update (May 2023); bugs long known (missing click spot etc.) never got fixed (or the fix never published). That's sad for a $60 add-on, but nothing we can do about.

  34. The Challenger can be hard work on the approach and landing, but when it all comes together it's very rewarding. All the beta testers had difficulty learning how to land, it's all part of the fun. On approach be aware that unlike aircraft like the 737, the pitch response to power is reversed, that means a power increase will see the aircraft pitch down for a moment. This can lead to an oscillation developing, so be sure to fly the pitch attitude accurately. If you find you're wobbling up and down, aim to make smooth power changes, and remember the HUD flight path vector is useful tool, but can get you into trouble too. A useful check is 0.6 on the AoA index on approach. If it's higher than that, you're too slow. Remember Vref +5, and check your weights on the approach ref page. For the landing flare, lift the nose to to arrest the rate of descent, starting at just below 40 ft. Make a smooth power reduction and fly the aircraft onto the runway. The pitch attitude in the flare is around 3 degrees, but look at the end of the runway, not the HUD! You'll have plenty of time for butter later, so for now put the aircraft down positively in the touchdown zone. If you go butter hunting, you'll only find little bounces - ask me how I know! Once you've landed, extend the flight spoilers (the ground spoilers are automatic, but the flight spoilers need to be raised by pulling the lever), use the reversers and you're down. And stay away from that HLIS button, it'll trick you into making your landings worse!

  35. X-Crafts, renowned for their Embraer aircraft lineup in X-Plane, has rolled out a comprehensive update for their E-Jet series, focusing primarily on enhancing the autopilot and flight management systems while addressing various minor but persistent issues. This update precedes a larger feature overhaul slated for 2024, as hinted in their recent post on the X-Plane.org forums. The update, encompassing nearly 100 changes, introduces significant improvements: - Enhanced functionality in the autopilot and FMS systems to align more closely with real-world aircraft operations. Notable additions include refined FLCH behavior during climb and descent phases, and updated approach procedures featuring X and Y designations for precise approach tracking. - Optimization efforts to enhance overall performance, such as reducing CPU load by adjusting the frequency of fuel predictions on the FMS progress page from every frame to every 5 seconds. - Quality-of-life enhancements, including persisting settings for the localizer and ground speed selectors post-autopilot disconnection. - Preparatory changes for forthcoming updates, including improvements to the EICAS speed brake indications in anticipation of a steep approach mode implementation. X-Crafts is also offering a limited-time discount for current owners of V2.5 E-jets, valid until May 10th, 2024. This offer provides a 15% discount on the complete E-Jets collection, available for purchase on the X-Crafts website.

  39. Good afternoon, Is there any ETA for the next update? It’s been 9 months since the release, and it seems like the company is dead. This forum seems dead too... no one says anything, no one from the team speaks. Sorry, but this is quite frustrating and a bit infuriating as well. The 733 is full of problems in VNAV, FMC, etc. Some flights are satisfactory and the aircraft does its job perfectly, but in others (and these others are the vast majority) the aircraft simply does what it wants. Most of the time, it’s almost impossible to control the speed of the plane and get it on the ideal glide slope during final approach. Not to mention the aircraft sounds, which are terrible, and it’s almost impossible to adjust the volume of each thing (this is surreal). It’s not possible that in 9 months there hasn’t been anything to release or at least some information from the IXEG team. Practically all the aircraft manufacturers for X-Plane have already released several updates fixing numerous bugs, and IXEG remains with the same aircraft since the day of release. This wouldn’t even be a problem if at least the company gave some sort of explanation to those who bought the aircraft (which is far from being a cheap addon). Best regards and peace.

  42. Well, to be fair, I said that I don't know if I unsubscribed or not. But that is not really the point, though you guys do seem a bit eager to penalize customers for doing so. Your policies are your choice of course, but they seem short-sighted, and out of step with most of the software industry these days. Few people are more enthusiastic about supporting small developers than I am, and I have put untold $$$$ toward my belief that those who provide good value should be rewarded, including a fair amount to X-Aviation. Rarely if ever do I balk at or whine about their pricing structure. But I do not enjoy paying full price for the same product twice, especially given the first one was never really finished to its promised potential. If X-Aviation had said, "well the $15 promotion is over, but we do have an ongoing upgrade price of say, $40" I would not have hesitated - I happily pay upgrade prices all day long. This is what most of the industry does, because they're looking at the bigger picture, and truly care about rewarding and retaining customer loyalty. I used to really like X-Aviation (as demonstrated by repeated purchases), but this is leaving a real sour taste for me. Again you polices are your choice, but I'm not sure you can really know the true cost long-term of this philosophy.
