Six months since release and I just want to say this TBM 900 is hands down my all time favorite plane in X-Plane. It has a place in my heart reserved for the absolute crème de la crème. Two decades of flight sim and I'm constantly amazed at the levels developers rise to. Keep up the superior work!

I think the issue is sensitivity. Pedals are extremely sensitive in this model. For example pedals in the the new JRollons SF260 Marchetti are not as sensitive and to me 'feel' natural. Same with the Kodiak. My take on it is the TBM900 is simulated accurately and correctly, it's just that there's a sensitivity issue that is not accounted for as we all have different hardware.

Whats the final word on FPS for a good system?
leinsters replied to nigelmcelwee's topic in General Discussion
You'll run it fine. It runs great for me in VR on a system a stop down from yours. Scenery is at high. -
I did two hours of touch and go's last night in the hopes of memorizing the rudder "feel" for this wonderful plane in X-Plane. Unfortunately I struggled each time on the take-off part. The slightest touch on the rudder pedal required another (lesser) counter touch and within a couple of seconds I was zigzagging. By the end of my two hour session I hadn't got any better. I don't have this problem in any other add-on. I don't have the 11.3 beta where I believe there is a sensitivity control and curve option, but I feel that will solve this rudder issue for me at least.

I tried searching but can't find a definitive answer: are navigraph charts viewable withing the G1000 yet? Thanks!

Thanks guys!

Hi - I couldn't seem to find any info on this anywhere. Apologies of it has been asked before. I can't seem to find a way to map the fuel cutoff switches to buttons on my Saitek throttle? Thanks! Len

Expanded 737 Classic Checklist Replacement

awesome - thanks! -
Here's a link to G2XPLane. A little gizmo (donationware) in which you can stop your flight, press a key, and it will literally download replacement photo scenery for the area you are flying over. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/59170-g2xpl-get-it-in-post-1/ If you have OSM (Open Street Map) installed, and W2XPlane (which provides buildings, trees etc), you'll get these kinds of results. (The added photo layer is the final piece to the illusion underneath). And don't worry, I was confused about this for months. Possibly still am! But I tell you it works and is amazing.

I am, but only using the throttle. The stick died on me which I hated anyway.

@tull - great post. And I am 100% with you. I don't have the interest to fly anything else these days. Nothing comes close to manually flying this plane on takeoff and on final. @avantime - Good points and I agree also. However it is important to remember when PMDG released its first 737-700 NG back in 2003/4 it was in a far worse state. In fact many simmers found it unflyable due to heavy frame rates... I remember you had to turn down everything else in order for it to get good frame rates. Of course, they fixed it and took care of it and the consumer, and continued to work on it for a long long time after. It also lacked some FMC features. So, comparing apples to apples is fine but we must not forget how both apples were initially presented.

seems spot on to me - and I'm only a Real World Passenger,
-
This is not an NG. Wing flex is minimal.

While this is great news of course, I fear for the coming influx of useless crap (not necessarily from Aerosoft) such as: "X-Plane Trees" Ground breaking must have technology for the accurate squirrel appreciating simmers - only $15! "X-Plane Contrails, Wing Vortices" - ONLY $35!! <-- A MUST HAVE, IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY (free copies to YouTubers) "X-Plane Window Fog" - Make you flight experience yet more accurate with lifelike window fogging - only $40! You know they are coming! Good problems to have tho ;^) Len

Way too soon indeed. I feel that as amazing as the launch version of this plane is, we are going to be blown away by the complete version. That in itself seems like another project. With that done though, I would love to see the -400. Why? because even more airlines fly it.

Amazing summary! I find this stuff incredibly valuable. Thank you, Len

This is an amazing summary, it will certainly improve my sim flying - thank you G650Fllyer

Real world fueling question (Southwest)
leinsters posted a topic in Flight Procedures and Techniques
Let's say a Southwest jet has a planned five takeoffs and landings.in a given day. Does the company essentially fill-up the tanks to accommodate as many flights as possible, thus saving turnaround time on the ground? Or does it fill up on the ground for each flight? Thanks, Len -
In my view I think the default view provided is by far the most realistic pilot-view I've ever seen in a pc-simulator. It's cramped and kind of like being in your car, you look ahead with the key instruments right on your nose line. In the real world your peripheral vision of course compensated where a desktop sim cannot. But if you want realistic I think you've already got it. Especially if you have TrackIR. It's very clear to me IXEG have put a lot of thought into this particular aspect of the Classic.

Awesome. Where do you get these details?

The weeks will fly by! Something tells me the experience will be well worth the wait. Thanks for the update and good luck needle hunting.

Is it ready yet ? Len

Hey Guys! This is my first post here. I'm a long time listener first time caller kinda guy ;^) but I feel compelled to chime in as I am certain I represent the majority of people excited about this plane. The silent majority - thousands of us! Those who check this page, or have subscribed to a YouTube page, or just wait for an announcement - basically those of us who are very familiar with high-end modern day flightsim addons and their development path. I've seen these topics get out of hand. To the degree that developers don't even show snippets of their work in development any longer. And where's the fun in that? Over in DCS world, we've been waiting for an F-18 Hornet for possibly longer than we've been waiting for this 737-300! Other DCS developers have stopped even announcing. Look at PMDG, you catch word of a product, and then not a peep.... for years. Let's not go down that road. I am worried that IXEG will stop showing previews, that we'll stop seeing screenshots. Personally it makes my day when I see some new screeny from these guys... or a video. Let's all ensure we keep it that way! Respect the devs, keep it positive, stay stoked! And be content in what is already the best flight-simulation technology to grace the home PC (and Mac) to date . Len
