  1. Even though it's virtual currency, it still stings just a little when you need to pay it.

  2. There really is no news at all? Last patch is coming up on 2 years, I can't taxi and turn at the same time as the brakes come on, editing aircraft files completely messes up the lights. For such a product with known bugs, I would expect some small fixes for things like this to at least keep the aircraft usable. It's not asking for much, FMC re-write is a large task, and most of us understand the complexity behind it, and the challenge regarding the limited time the guy doing that has, completely understandable, but those small bugs that could be dealt with are quite frustrating...unless I am completely underestimating the resources needed to fix them. Hopefully, some small updates soon, the product is too good, Zibo is free, but people like me, want the IXEG improved, which shows that they see the current quality in it and want to support it's development. While I'm here, enjoy your Xmas break, enjoy the time off if you are lucky to get some! Be safe with the fireworks!

  3. We opened the beta to pretty much anyone willing to test. For version 1.1.10, 200 beta keys were issued. Of those I don't know how many volunteers were Mac. We definitely didn't slap this together with no testing though.

  6. I opened the zip file on a computer where I was prepared to take the risk of malicious code, opened the zip file, deleted the linux installer, zipped the file again and moved the zip file to the gaming computer, opened and installed without any problem with the virus protection

  7. Yes you are absolutely right that you are not responsible for all problems, but you can easily avoid becoming a cause of problems by realizing that many users do not know the difference between a real threat and a false alarm. myself, I solved this by excluding the linux installer and then moving the directory into my gaming computer. You could have easily created a separate zip file for those users using linux ...

  8. Would you appreciate that as a Linux user? False positive detections are common in the antivirus industry. They occur when a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus product. You can read more about this in a pretty good article here if you are concerned: https://www.pcworld.com/article/2883692/virustotal-tackles-false-positive-malware-detections-plaguing-antivirus-and-software-vendors.html We aren't responsible for every problem in the world over here. I think it's pretty clear this is squarely in Microsoft's court. The fact Windows Defender flagged an application that does not even run on their platform is grossly miscalculated on their part and is a problem they need to fix. Trying to make it out as us being the bad guys is the wrong way to look at it.

  9. Happened to me several times with other software. I had Kaspersky and it wasn’t allowing iTunes to run properly. I spent an hour with iTunes customer support trying to sort it out. I also have Flux player, used to watch videos bought on justplanes. My internet security flagged it as full of malware. There’s no way we would risk our reputation by adding some kind of a virus in the installer.

  10. @WorthyQuill No need to feel sorry. It's a false positive on the Linux installer which is part of the downloaded zip file. Cameron explained that a few posts up.

  11. Hi Jacoba, No need for rudder pedals, the Lua script https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/37662-differential-and-progressive-brakes-for-x-plane-11/ from above works perfect.

  13. I must say your advise is so far of all security thinking that i get sick to my stomach. I have worked as a security architect for the most of 20 year now. I have until now newer heard a software developer say to their customer to disable the virus protection... I think You have a lot of security thinking to do. Scary advise...
