  1. And just to add my two cents here - I have not reinstalled X-Plane or Windows EVER in 20 years of using windows and X-Plane. It is simply not necessary, especially not with the latest windows versions from 7 on up. The plane is out for 9 months, and if I had bought it, I would still have 2 activations left. Save yourself the trouble - do NOT reinstall every time something doesn´t work. Here is some further reading on this: http://developer.x-plane.com/2016/11/you-dont-need-to-reinstall-x-plane-to-fix-it/ Jan

  2. Correct, that won't work. The problem here is that user hardware does not typically have (user defined) detents and you have no "feedback" to determine what position the lever is in. Currently, the Saab throttle levers use the entire range of the throttle axis to go from full reverse to full throttle and this cannot be split up or modified with keystroked or buttons. I will make note of this "feature" request and do some research on what we can do to better accommodate user hardware. No promises at this point. In addition, this type of feature would only be implemented as something "new" for the Saab v2.0.

  3. Hello folks. What is the most frustrating part with X-Plane? For me it is when Im ~2 hours into the flight, at top of descent, checking maps, weather, atis, etc... and suddenly... KABOOM, X-Plane crashes.. That is happening time to time. A reason for a crash to desktop is often hard to know. It could be conflicting plugins, bad scenery etc.. Or just something simple as a power outage. So in this frustration I have made a LUA script that are Auto Saving the situation every 10 minutes (or what I set it to). And it keeps a history of 10 savings. It is using the X-Plane's built in sytem for saving and loading situations, but im trying to customize it for the IXEG 733. I made this for personal use. But if this is something that are interessting for you guys, I could maybe make a release of it. What do you think ? Here is a quick and dirty demo how it is working at the moment.

  5. The download link expiry is a "feature" of the store software Cameron uses. It is not coupled to the DRM systems. It's just a crude date based system. I'm currently working on a refresh of the activation systems so hopefully we can at least un-log-jam that. The aim is a self managed system somewhat like iTunes movie content.

  6. I use MFG Crosswind, very happy with them. http://mfg.simundza.com/products Do a search on youtube and you find a lot of reviews. No need for 3rd party software. Just calibrate (with provided software) and you are up and running.

  7. Hello Jan, VNAV doesn't work if you don't insert STAR in FP. On leg page you will see climb alt to final FL and this FL will be on final Fix. VNAV works fine if flight in USA, where you always know your SID and STAR/transition, but in EU you may have 2-3 or 5 (in Russia) STAR, and it insert after ATC clear you for approach. If you try change STAR in flight you will have 50% chance crash gizmo and "death" of Autopilot, or CTD. Alex

  8. Other variants of the aircraft are on the list. The problem is that a -400 and -500 has different aerodynamics than the -300, so we need to have separate (planemaker) aircraft for those. This is why we want to "finish" the -300 as much as possible before we make other variants or it will be an update and support nightmare for both you and us. As for a cargo version, that is more likely short term since it is basically only a 3D update. No decisions on the timetable for that has been set. But, the most likely (subject to change) progress is v.1.1 for XP10 v 1.1 for XP11 Cargo version 500/400 V 1.1 for XP10 is currently in closed beta. XP11 - as we predicted - is still a moving target. Like Austin implementing new flight model stuff still in the middle of the beta (jet engine, ground model etc), plenty of XP bugs and we expect it to be like this for a few more months.

  10. Taken from an email I received from 1 of the pilots with regards to this very thing. I asked him what the frequent, high pitched whine was in 1 of the videos I got from him. "That's the Saab mating call. It's the hydraulic pump kicking on because he's using nose wheel steering and brakes. Pressure dropped below 2100psi on Main Accumulator with Hydraulic Pump Switch in Auto Mode. Shuts off at 2900psi. I remembered a bunch of Saabs parked out on the ramp with external power plugged in and they would "talk" to each other." Followed by: "The hydraulic pump comes on any time with external power or 28v generators operating, or in Override. Frequency of it coming on depended on how "leaky" system was. On ground with engines off and external power plugged in, the pump would come on about every 10-20 minutes. Comes on during every aircraft power up if it sat for a while. I imagine that would be interesting to simulate. Pressure cycling below 2100psi every 20 min on ground and higher frequency with more hydraulic usage." Can you confirm the time is actually 20 seconds, or is it actually longer? I ran the Saab on my installation, and it is nowhere near 20 second intervals between hydraulic pressurizations. If it IS 20 seconds between pressurization, then that would be a serious issue that we would need to look into.

  11. Jamie, In addition to the items you mentioned, we have modeled "leakage" in the hydraulic system. Over time the hydraulic pressure will diminish and the pressure switch will activate causing the pump to re-charge the accumulators. We also track how long it has been since you last used the Saab in X-Plane and then calculate the leakage accordingly. So, if you load the Saab after a long period of time the hydraulic system will leak and the pressure will diminish. If you load the Saab after only a short period of time, the pump should not run as the system will not have leaked enough. The pump SHOULD NOT run continously unless you override it. If that happens please report back with all the details to recreate the issue and I will investigate.

  12. We will reply as soon as we are able and will endeavor to reply within 3 days, but usually quicker. I don't find this statement correct in any way!! As long as I have paid for my licence, I have the right to use it when I want, unconditioned, why wait 3 days, do you think I'm correct!? I'm asking you peacefully, please reactivate my product! Thank you, sir!
