  1. Hi everyone, we would like to give all of our loyal customers a short update on the work going on behind the scenes. As you are all aware, we are working on patch 1.1. It will include a number of additions and fixes to our 737, some of which we hinted at in our sneak peak thread: http://forums.x-pilot.com/forums/topic/11745-spot-whats-new-v11-spoiler-alert/ We are not quite ready yet to release the full list of features and fixes, especially since we want to make sure that we can actually include the items in question and also run a more thorough test on this patch than we had the time for on the last "hotfix" type patches. For the same reason we won´t commit to an ETA at this point. As we draw closer to release, I will update this post with more info on 1.1. We know it has been a very long time without updates and we thank you for your continuing support in spite of this! Happy landings, Jan

  2. Nothing wrong with the question, there are plenty times with LOC is used on it's own before press APP, it's pretty common way to do it, especially if you want to track the LOC while flying the descent profile in another mode like VS.

  3. But take a look in the other topic "Sneak peak Version 1.1" there you can see the progress. Its not to far away

  4. I'm joining for sure. Big meeting of the IXEG users like a Harley riders meeting. A RFE event would be the best option. It would be nice to use smartcopilot as well.

  5. Make sure your course selector is set to the ILS LOC heading, double check the frequency is correct or try another airport to see if the same thing happens there. Another thing to try is to press the VOR LOC button much early, a few minutes before you intend intercept it, set a heading to intercept the localiser with a typical angle, maybe around 30 degrees offset and see if the autopilot catches it.

  6. Thank you Frank. I am in love with the new clouds. Makes all the difference in the world. How could anyone not want to use SkyMaxx Pro V4?

  7. Our beloved greedy Jardesign wants 20 bucks fee for upgrading their A330 for X11. And they didnt say anything yet abiut A320 upgrade. Looks like A320 is an abandoned project since they sold it out to most of the potential users. I decided not to buy an official upgrade yet for A330 and using my X10 version in X11. It works in general but with some bugs. I can say it's FPS unfriendly in X11 though. IXEG 737 works quite well and shows decent FPS performance. But IXEG team promised a free update to all their X10 users. P.S. I am flying X11 in Oculus VR only and it's amazing! Old X10 add-ons also shines in X11 so I jumped away from X10 regardless of the incompatibility issues I have with the priloducts at the moment. Cheers, V

  11. Looking at the code, the only explanation I can think of is that the terrain in this brighter area is above the stated base of the cloud layer (or 2000 meters if no broken or scattered layers are present). We remove shadows in that case. This should be a fairly rare situation that's existed since the beginning with SMP - but the right thing to do is the remove shadows if the terrain is above the top of the clouds, not the bottom. I'll code up a fix for our next release. Thanks for the report.

  12. Because they had to get the new SkyMaxx Pro out first. That is money in the bank

  13. Hi! Just bought SMP4 and RWC, and I love it, but seeing a lot of the xEnvio videos I can't notice some things are missing from SMP, and I'm not talking about weather engine, but strictly visual. I think SMP will need to keep improving and I would like to suggest some ideas that might just work. - City lights illuminating clouds (simple solution would be to generate a dim light in dense autogen regions that lights the clouds only) - extending cloud cover to the horizon: this should be done with keeping the current detailed coverage as it is, but beyond that just draw low res 2D clouds or in overcast the currently implemented stratus layer), this way performance should not suffer. - better transition when new metars are received. Clouds should drift with the wind. the direction will move them towards a new metar station, if that station have a different metar a cloud transformation should be interpolated, and the clouds should slowly morph into the new type as they drift and with time. - Actually I would love to see a system where clouds are never created or destroyed instantly , but they are always morphed in and out over time, some of this is already implemented I think. - I would be super excited to have cumulus clouds generated over thermals, with dark crisp bottom over strong and new thermals, and soft wispy clouds that slowly dissipate with week dying thermals. This feature would transform X-plane into a nearly proper soaring simulator, and a lot would be glad for that. If you could implement a custom thermal generator with dependance of current weather parameters and non uniform thermals like in condor that would be a killer too, but I think I might ask too much here. - strong wind ground effects, this is just some eye candy but if strong gusting winds could generate some sand or snow, or in case of heavy rain, water puffs that drift along the surface then dissipate that would look cool imho, same mechanic could generate ripple on water surfaces (just a bump map drifting on the water surface) - true volumetric clouds actually it can be done, some guys did it for kerbal space program, I think it can be done in XP too I hope I gave you at least 1 good idea. For other users, what do you think? What feature you would like to see in the future in SMP/RWC ?

  18. Hi everyone, I would like to share my (somewhat emotional) own personal farewell to the 737 I flew for 10 years here at Lufthansa. I started out as a First Officer in 1996, flying -300, - 400 and -500 variants. Later the -400s where phased out. In 2002 I transferred to the 747-400, and in 2008 I came back as a Captain to my beloved 737. I got to fly it until 2012, when, with the reduction in numbers, I was transferred to the A320 family. Last Saturday saw the last commercial flight of a 737 in Lufthansa service, but the plane has a huge following among "Lufhanseats", and we were not willing to just let it go like that. So together with the 737-fleet administration a plan was made to bid farewell to the 737 in style. Two 737-300´s were scheduled to fly to Heviz, Hungary (the "FlyBalaton" airport) on November, 1st - spend the night there and then fly back to Frankfurt on the 2nd. After that there was a farewell event in one of the huge maintenance hangars on the airport. Here are some pics: Checking in at the airport: A booklet we got and my ticket: Arriving at the D-ABEC "Karlsruhe": Landing/turnoff light assembly: Our head of fleet, who flew us to Heviz: Me getting on board (I hate sitting in the back!): Taxiing out, we saw the second aircraft to follow us an hour later, D-ABEK: Arriving in Heviz, after backtracking we were greated by "water fountains" from the fire-trucks! The Heviz airport: Some detail shots in the afternoon sun: Even the mayor of Heviz came out to greet us (and he brought some local liqueur!) Malev flies 737s (or used to?): After a nice celebration dinner in a downtown hotel, meeting with many colleagues and friends and a whole evening of "talking 737" we headed back out to the airport the next morning. Our two fine "Bobbies" waiting for us on the apron: "Fanhansa" D-ABEK: My old office Departure over Lake Balaton, so lifevest mandatory! And getting off the 737 for the last time :-(((( After we arrived, there was the farewell celebration in the hangar: They REALLY polished good old "Neubrandenburg" D-ABEN: And our CEO and my former flight-school classmate Carsten Spohr had some nice things to say about the 737 (even though he only flew 320s): Finally they pulled the plane out of the hangar in a symbolic "roll-out". The aircraft will be flown to the U.S. over the next few weeks, some of them will continue to fly there. So if you see any of them, give them my best... https://youtu.be/18qiHDDA-DU Good-Bye, Bobby! 19. Seeing this topic, I'd like to share my experience with Lufthansa B733 this summer. I was on my way back home from a trip to England on 16th July. D-ABED(LH941)took me from EGCC to EDDF, then D-AIGL(LH780) took me from EDDF to ZSNJ(Nanjing, China). One thing to be mentioned, the aircraft for LH941 was A320 when booking this flight but about one month before departure, the type changed to B733. At that moment, I was flying IXEG B733 frequently on VATSIM, that news made me really excited. This was my first time but also my last time to fly Lufthansa B733. Weather in Manchester is not that good, at gate 24 ready for push/start. Moments after departure. It was the first time that SWISS CS100 flew to Manchester that day. I could see groups of people gathering at the spotting location near runway 23L when I was lining up the runway. B733 safety card Cabin shot. Final approach to 25R, great view of the terminal. Remote stand, first time to get off the plane from back door. Fanhansa livery, taken inside the terminal during the 6 hour transfer. D-ABEH D-AIGL waiting for boarding. I chose to fly Lufthansa because of the A343 but B733 gave me a great surprise! Climb out of runway 18, very nice rate of climb. In fact I prefer a 25C departure because it could let me take some overview photos of FRA airport during the climb. A343 cabin. In the end, some shots of airshows in England Thank you so much

My Sim is a full size 737 cockpit built with all real parts that all work in unison with the IXEG 733. We need your help!!!! Come join us as we need more pilots. Even if it is just as a co-pilot working the flaps and gear Our charity this year is the Memorial Children,s Hospital here in South Bend. https://www.facebook.com/memorialchildrenshospital/ They are not for profit hospital for children and no child is turned away. If you can't join us, please find it in your heart to donate to this great cause during our event. I will post a link here in this thread and we will be streaming live on TwitchTV I hope this doesn't bother the developers of the ixeg and it would be awesome if you could come join us as well. Message me or post here if you want more details. Thank you, Rob
