Hi all. Finally my MFG Crosswind rudder pedals have arrived (http://mfg.simundza.com/products) Gonna pick them up after work today. Veeery excited to try them with the 733. Anyone else that have them and tried them with the IXEG 733 ? Any tips on setup etc I should know about ?

Just a side note. As Austin had told me yesterday, the just released 10.50r3 has also restored METAR D/L. Not sure about the wind & turbulence GRIBs...

OK, that doesn't sound so scary then. Actually I'd welcome the XML format, as it explicitly breaks out the cloud cover information we want instead of making us parse out the entire METAR string - as long as we have enough prior notice!

Until 2019 both formats will co-exist. From there on, xml only. Anyway, this info pertains to the GTS ( WMO ) and I guess NOAA just makes it available to the public by "courtesy". I don't know what NOAA's plans are for this particular service. I'll try to find more and post here next week.

Is that January 2017 deadline documented or announced anywhere that you know of? It sounds a little ambiguous to whether the current text format we expect is going away or not.

Your welcome Jan Normally installation is a breeze. For those using non-English Windows versions, it's a matter of installing the "English US" language pack. Should work on ANY Windows localized version. If you're struggling with that for some reason , suggest you read this guide about how to get English US speech engine installed. https://zulja.wordpress.com/2015/08/11/installing-additional-language-packs-for-windows-10-speech-recognition/ There is currently one limitation. MCE cannot read the V1, VR, V2 you input in FMC-CDU. Therefore, have to tell FO by these means. Either go to MCE user interface, <Monitor> tab and insert the V speeds there OR Tell your FO about them verbally. You: "Our V one is XXX" Co-pilot : "confirm V1 XXX" You: "affirmative" or "yes" Do the same for VR and V2 and FO should make the accurate call-outs on take-off. If anyone needs help, feel free to ask.
