  3. I fly X-Plane on a top of the line iMac and had begun having numerous software crashes in version 10.40+. I also have a ton of custom scenery and a large number of plugins. Thinking those could be the source of the crashes, I did a clean install of the most current 10.40 release (prior to the release of 10.50), but still experienced software crashes that would usually take place after around 30 minutes of flying, but sometimes sooner. Additionally, it didn't seem to matter what aircraft I was flying, and I had become so frustrated with 10.40+ that I was reluctant to even start it. After updating with the first several releases of 10.50 beta, the crashes continued, whether in the clean version or the one with all the custom scenery and plugins- and, of course, 10.50 had several glitches that were being ironed out. Upon installing 10.50b6, however, I found X-Plane to be running BEAUTIFULLY, with absolutely no crashes, even with all the add-ons. WELL DONE X-PLANE DEVELOPERS! If you haven't seen the buildings in 10.50b6, just take a look at Honolulu. This shot is taken from just west of Diamond Head, looking toward PHNL. The buildings are stock X-Plane 10.50b6, however, the water off Waikiki is enhanced with a photo scenery add-on.

  4. We've touched on this a million times, our interpretation of -cb- it's obviously one of the most polar topics with SMP... Frank has tried other approaches and settled on this for performance and visual appeal... Important to appriciate that it's actually modeled into the engine for the purpose of similation.

  5. Really liking this aircraft. Fitting that one of the paints looked real close to the San Diego Chargers American Football Team Colors. So I had to add the Charger Shield Horse on the door and show it off. Shot was taking at KSAN. About to take it out for spin after 4th of July family dinner which consist of Hamburgers on the barbie Pie Chips, dip and Watermelon. Yummy!!!!!!. Oh while we eat dinner we watch 1996 Independence day, not the new one. Cheers Dion

  6. Attached is the one I'm using. It's a rather complex setup involving a custom xjoymap script and config, which Xsaitekpanels calls into. This is to provide knob acceleration, so I can spin a knob fast to quickly change its value and then slow down to fine-tune it, just like in the real aircraft. If you don't want to run the custom xjoymap, just replace the xjoymap references in the xsaitekpanels.ini file with the standard commands to change AP settings from X-Plane. Caveats: I've disabled all switchpanel buttons except for the landing gear lever. I find they don't really map that well to the real aircraft. Feel free to reenable them by adding the appropriate lines. Be careful about avionics though, it might mess with the electrics in the aircraft. Also, even if you have the avionics button disabled, you need to keep its knob in the "on" position (and cycle it when you start the sim), otherwise Xsaitekpanels won't turn on any other panel. I've remapped some positions on the multipanel for my convenience. ALT controls right CRS knob and VS controls ALT knob on the MCP. I've changed the TRIM wheel to instead change vertical speed on the MCP, as in the real aircraft. I've changed the REV button on the multipanel to engage LVL CHG, since the 737 classic doesn't have a localizer backcourse roll mode. A/T switch on the multipanel is disabled. The real MCP has this knob on a solenoid that disengages when you press A/T disengage on the throttles. Obviously this can't be done on the multipanel, so I'd rather it doesn't mess with the simulation. ixeg 733 plugins.zip

  7. True, especially compared to real life, where clouds are almost blindingly white when flying above them.
