  1. Well, it is noticeable that you will rarely hear anything rude from a controller here in Europe or anywhere where the airlines are paying for the ATC service directly and per flight. Testy in more stressful situations (when they have to call someone 5 times because they aren´t listening properly), but never downright rude. The U.S., where ATC is paid by for the goverment is a whole different story. Efficient, yes. Likeable, mostly - but dare to ask the JFK approach controller to repeat his clearance Now if you employ a "real" controller to work on a service like PilotEdge, I would think it a testimony to the realism of the whole setup if the guy forgets that its "just a game" and takes it all seriously enough to fall back into old habits when dealing with non-compliant aircraft. Nice? Maybe not. Realistic? Definitely. Don´t forget that part of the whole ATC experience is also the pressure to not mess up, play along and to not be the clog in the wheel of a nicely humming EGLL approach flow... Jan

  2. I agree. The frequency mish-mash is so unrealistic, that it's a definite deal breaker for me. I understand their business model, and how they need to set it up to make it profitable and affordable, but that doesn't mean that it's what people want, or are willing to pay for. As I said, for simulator pilots who don't know any better, they probably think all of the frequency chatter is the shiznitz, but for real pilots, it's nothing short of distracting, to the point of being annoying. That's exactly what I'm talking about, the getting yelled at part. Real world controllers don't act the way the PE controllers do with the nitpicking dress downs I've heard on their network. In the real world, if you blow a heading, the controller will ask you for your heading. After you tell them, they will assign the same heading they originally gave you, or assign a new revised heading. You know you blew the heading, and the controller knows, and that is the end of it. Enough said. There's no on frequency b***h out from the controller. On Pilot Edge, when you blow a heading, the first words out the controllers mouth often times is "where are you going?" This is followed by an uncomfortable lecture for the poor pilot playing a game, that goes on for a good 30 seconds. Completely unlike the real world. Another deal breaker for me. Tim

  3. Hello I have always used 2x SSAA + FXAA for HDR settings. But, specially, at nighttime the instruments looks blurry. So I tried out 4x SSAA and everything got crystal clear. But it will of course hit a bit on the framerate. Im not 100% sure, but is the IXEG 733 more affected by the HDR setting than "other" aircrafts ? And is there anyway to tweak the 2x SSAA + FXAA to make it more clear via Nvidia Control Panel or something? What are you guys using ? My setup is GPU: 980Ti CPU: i7 4790 Click on the images to see the difference better. 2x SSAA + FXAA (daytime) 4x SSAA (daytime) 2x SSAA + FXAA (night) 4x SSAA (night)

  6. Hello I see that on b737.org.uk says the following: Anti-Collision: Are the orange rotating beacons above and below the fuselage. They are universally used as a signal that the engines are running or are about to be started. They are typically not switched off until N1 has reduced to below 3.5% (or N2 below 20%) when it is considered safe for ground personnel to approach the aircraft. http://www.b737.org.uk/aircraft_general.htm#Lights And I see some say N2 15% and some N2 10% The boeing manual says this. So the question is what the definition on "complete stop" is maybe I switch it off around N2 10%.

  10. Yeah I always wondered why 2x didn't have an option without the FXAA.

  11. Damn great point. I understand trying to be as professionals as possible (to the point it's ironically unrealistic) but the on freq lectures are a bit much.

  13. I also have to use 2x SSAA + FXAA for fps reasons but after using it for such a long time I just got used to the blurriness, I dont know why they dont give us 2x AA without the FXAA as an option, also as far as i know the nvidia control panel has no effect on the Anti Aliasing settings to xplane (I could be wrong)

  14. ... Monty Python's Flying Circus? Like the old "...Ham and Spam?" Stuff! "...and now something completely different": I've just booked an 2h 737 Sim-Session at LH Flight Training. So, if the instructor cooperates, I'll walk thru all the F/D and A/P modes and fill in the above Matrix. Beste Grüsse, -Michael

  15. Tony is right - and so is his fiancee (give her a kiss for me, will ya?) My brother is complaining that he only got two stripes, though - oh well, if he shapes up a bit with his flying, who knows, maybe a rank progression is going to come his way? If he could only stop looking around the cockpit and concentrate... Jan
