My words ... I think, many of you greatly underestimate what it means to distribute 55 Gbytes to thousands of users! Just to put it in perspective: it took me almost 3 days to just upload it .... and more than a day for flightsim.com to check / prepare etc. the files for distribution. I also received a mail from flightsim.com, where they have stated, that these downloads have blown away all bandwidth records they have previously seen ...7 points

For some reason, reverting back to standard X-Plane clouds seems to be a non-trivial task... In my case I ran both the X-Aviation uninstaller AND the X-Plane updater (AND did a reboot) but couldn't get the standard X-Plane clouds back (all I got was clear skies, regardless of the weather). Then I realized there was still a folder "SilverLining" in my plugin folder so I manually removed it. That eventually did the trick... PS: I like the product very much, it's just that I wanted to go back to 'vanilla' in order to compare a few things ;-)3 points

Wow ... it took a while of playing with the settings. HOWEVER for me, this package is worth the price for the fps increase alone .... with HDR turned on, I now get between mid 30's to high 40's! **Word of CAUTON** Your mileage WILL vary regarding my FPS increase claim, because you have to be circumspect with what gets turned off and what you leave on. You WILL have to make informed choices. I believe I have a good balance of plausibility + natural beauty and smooth flying to make it an enjoyable and 'realistic' flying experience for me. Note that I let my video card hardware handle all the anti-aliasing & anisotropic settings etc ... and I use the most minimal settings of same in XP rendering menu. This works for me and I don't get jaggies ... and I used to get around 30 fps in most areas .. dropping to around 25 in big city areas. I haven't tried with the SAAB yet, but I'm sure that it'll bring me back to reality ... however, it's sure to be an improvement to what it's been previously (looking forward to that update I can tell you!). SkyMaxx is glorious .. and it's eliminated the closed in claustrophobic feel of standard X-Plane! CONGRATS on a fine product! As my FSX cousins would say ... this is one of theose WOW things that is a game changer .. and now it's an indispensable part of my flying environment lol!2 points

Next hint: If you experience poor performance, WAIT. SMP somehow needs its time to fade in the clouds. If you change your settings quickly, you will not notice that. Give it at least 30 seconds.2 points

In case you're curious why those two folders are empty - they exist for hand-modeled cloud shapes. Only cumulonimbus are hand-modeled, since they have a very specific anvil shape to them. The other cloud types are "grown" procedurally using a cellular automata technique, which ensures no two clouds look the same. If no model files are found for a given cloud type, the procedural approach is used instead - and that's what we want for cumulus congestus and cumulus mediocris.1 point

Unbelievable addon! The level of immersion it adds is very impressive. Its not just the clouds, the whole sky and atmosphere is improved. It looks so much better! Thank you Mr Maxx, a real work of art1 point

Another "wow" from me. After two flights I must say XP is at a new level now. Together with Urban Maxx Extreme this is the most important add on. Gesendet von meinem GT-I9100 mit Tapatalk 21 point

It takes playing with the setting a bit to get HDR to work. In fact It took my entire 2-3 hr stream last night to adjust it to where I like it. Below is what I settled on. This is with HDR on: And My settings that settled on:1 point

3 computers for 3 screens is by far the best way to go, albeit an expensive one. (In my case, 3 machines, each with a GTX 680.) Each of the views is not distorted as it would be from only one GPU card driving 3 monitors. FPS is far better as well. In this case, you get what you pay for.1 point

I have been running 3 displays on one computer for some time now with NV Surround and got some stretching on the side displays i dont like and its just not enough power for maximum fps. I will be running 3 i7 4770K CPU's, 1 Nvidia GTX780ti and 2 Nvidia GTX680. I am doing 60fps now on 1 screen and would like that on a 3 screen configuration without the stretching and have better flexibilty.1 point

Hi guys ... please - if in doubt - read my statement on my download page about the download speeds (and your options). I have also added a few - 3rd party - torrent links further down the page (they are NOT done by me, so don't ask me for support about this)!1 point
